I rode between 7.5k to 9.5kRPM.It was a Solo Trip buddy!Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View Post+1 for sharing your mileage and May i know when did you get 38-39 ( @ __ RPM ? ) . Did you ride solo or with a pillion ?
P.S: i dont think someone can do a 1000km+ trip on V2 with pillion
Pillion's A$$ may get punctured
1. Nice to know! But in my case when i hit rev limiter in 3rd gear,it was not smooth after that. I felt a stutter in the bike until RPM came down.Originally posted by shreyassave View PostYep! At 10500 RPMs. We could feel her losing her breath, BUT the best part is she doesn't let us know that we have red-lined, she's that smooth!
(kiss) ♥ ♥ ♥
140 is cool mate! I could go to 132 with tornado crosswinds!
Exactly! As said above, even I got 34 for some heavy ripping. Always 7+ for 50 kms and 9.5+ for 115 kms.
And 42-43 @ < 7.5 kms sounds good, especially when with a group with slower bikes!
2. ~30km/l
..seriously ? i also did ghats. In fact i have visited ooty twice in the last three weeks. never i got below 37-38
. did u try to ride it like RX
??
3> I get 40+ in city riding (<7.5), obviously when driven sanely!
Rx is a Phoenix!!! It always rise from ashes!!

COngrats buddy and welcome to the club!Originally posted by nughty_guy77 View PostFinally got my red beast
Regarding the pain, it will subside with time, start with doing the following consciously, within no time you will start doing it unconsciously..
1. Grip the tank with your thighs
2. Position yourself in such a way that your elbows are slightly bent
3. Literally, only 'hold' on to the handle bar, don't put your weight onto it, following the above two will help you further with this.
I have planned to do it after every 500-750 kms, depending upon the chain condition.Originally posted by kuntalnag View PostCould you guys let me know in which frequency should clean or lube the chain?
I mean normally after how many Kms should I be doing that?
thanks in advance
Says it all!!Originally posted by shadab007 View PostBut the best pain killer is the Bike. Just go and see it once again you will feel better

Congrats! The pictures look good!Originally posted by nughty_guy77 View PostFinally got my red beast Today morning ....
As other members have already suggested, do not put pressure on your palm
Tips to lower the pain:
Wear protective biker gloves
Sit back on the seat on a comfortable level where you can: grip the tank with your knees and thighs and still reach for the ground when you need to stop
Have your elbows bent slightly
Some people experience back pain too, I guess the only way to get used to it is to ride the bike as much as possible and get enough rest at the same time.
I have the same sunset red and got it around 3 weeks ago. Reached 500 Kms yesterday. I am slowly revving it up to 6000 rpms - 7500 rpms. It just feels good! Trust me the days are just going get better. Make sure you don't take it above 5000 rpms until 500kms and treat the machine well. After three weeks, there is no vibrations and the engine is starting to sound even better with higher Revs.

me too with the same QuestionOriginally posted by Daytona View PostDoes hitting the top speed (always), effects the performance of the bike in long run
For how many years Engine would give its best, provided I am ensuring its getting serviced on regular intervals
i have been constantly hittin 90 to 110 continuously from 2 weeks. will that cause damage to the bike ? i usually ride for 10km in the morning and 10 in eve at the speeds of 80+.

This bike is meant to be ridden fast. IMHO 90-110 range will infact keep the engine healthy. More than how fast you ride, the way you reach those speeds would decide whether it will hurt the engine or no. Moreover, it will hurt the engine's pride more if you don't ride at those speedsOriginally posted by Ron Syl View Postme too with the same Question

hmmm.... i usually reach there gradually rising the throttle. only some times while overtaking i have to do a quickie.

Rode for almost 100 kms today ... tried to ride as every1 suggested at certain stretches it certainly works out good in the highways but the pain is there while driving in traffic may be i am not able to get the right seating posture
.. it may be will take a few days to get accustomed too and also the fact that i am almost 6ft tall it might take some extra time to get used to the ergs of the bke .. i am trying to keep the bike below 5000 mark.. ( man its so tempting to just break free
) .. But its a dream to ride the bike in the highway .. damn pointed ... falling in love with the bike more and more ..

Review
Have done around 115 kms. Yesterday went for a 70km long drive in city. The bike did impress me. I lower end torque is good, can't compare it with the older version bcoz i never rode it. But this one seems to pull up pretty well. Just ripped the bike once to 5-6k rpm. I must say upto 4000 rpm it doesn't show its real skin but beyond that it behaves like a different machine. I felt like suddenly the bike has changed. It really gave me a lot of confidence on cornering. Did small twisties on it at 55kmph. Haven't checked the fe but according to the indicators it feels like it should give around 40+. Although its early to say but i felt the break to be better responsive than my FZ-S. I m damn happy with my bike. Have changed a few things like removing the saree guard & cut the mud guards to half. Then removed the front number plates & pasted the number on the front bumpers. As soon as i got the delivery i put the black racing Yamaha tank pad. Didnt notice much back pain , there was a bit of back pain when i did a long drive for around 35kms but that wasn't very significant. But certainly there was a lot of wrist pain, especially of the left hand & it increased with every time i pressed the clutch lever. Rest all the bike is awsome.
I have owned an FZ -s previously but now the way people look at me has changed. They are divided into exact two halves the one who stare at you & appreciate your steed & those who feel jealous & want to compete with you
. Yesterday couple of dude on platina & dazzler were giving me some attitude & cutting past me every now & then. But i remained unresponsive so they went away. Fools although even if the bike was not in break in period i wouldn't have raced with them. Because i generally love to ride on low speeds & enjoy the ride. But there are times when the adrenaline rushes in & you gotta show them what kind of man you are.
Will be going for oil change next week.
On the day of delivery i saw a blue R15 2.0 on the signal & i stopped my bike just next to him. Looked at him, he smiled i smiled back. Then as soon as the signal turned green he showed me the real power of the bike & zoomed past everybody, felt great to loose to a fellow R15 2.0 owner.Last edited by r_c111; 04-21-2012, 01:35 PM.

Urgent help
Hey Guys ..
I received a call from my dealer, he said come and select your bike . I went to the Go-down and i saw 10 , 50 th anniversary bikes . He said they got delivered fro the factory yesterday night only
As the go down was dark and those bike were covered with bunch of Dust :P
I just noticed some of the following things
1. The handle bar finish on 9 bikes was not perfect .. The last one finish was pretty OK .
2. I can see brown color mark ,thing in the handle bar Round bolt which is ahead of the fuel tank .........
3. There were scratches in all the bikes ( side fairings , front cowl and middle cowl )
4. All those 9bikes were perfect , but the one i choosed had a broken part ( the thing which is just behind the Front wheel+mud guard and which is below the radiator )
5. Do this resembles the build quality for the whole bike will be cheap ??
When i asked the dealer , he asked me to pick up from the remaining 9 bikes .. But , i'm satisfied with the 10 th Bike only ... And later , he said when i come and get for delivery , he promised me to replace the broken part ...
Guys i need your opinion --- Shall i go for that bike ? What else can i do ?

why are so adamant on getting the 10th bike?and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
