  • ^Yes sir...That's what i did, though i did not hit rev limiter so much times as u said...but still i felt i could have gone more. Anyway there's always a next time
One more observation that i had in the recent 1000km trip i had was
The mileage dropped to 38-39 when ridden >7.5k Rpm.
It gave a decent mileage of 42-43 when ridden below 7.5kRpm for another 600km trip!!

      Again, true.
      There are commuters (< 7.5 ), then there are riders (< 9 & > 7.5) and then racers ( > 9 ). . JFF.

and the average follow the suit, i get around 32-33 Kmpl and so do all my V2/V1 friends with similar riding style.

The engine is good but not perfect, at constant hig revs, average would fall. General law of loss in engine efficiency kicks in.
      Ride On,

        Nastrofaction quoted Again, true.

I would just like to share some things

Maximum speeds in each gear ( By sitting upright ) ..

          1st gear - 45 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
          2nd gear - 62 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
          3rd gear - 92 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
          4th gear - 108 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
          5th gear - 117 km/hr ( @ 10,500 RPM )
6th gear - 135 km/r ( @ 10,500 RPM ) The Speedometer digits got stuck and the speed did not increased further ..

          Riding at 6 - 7.5 k RPM ( i.e Varying speeds between 80 - 105 km/hr ) it delivers a descent mileage of 45 km/liter on Highway . [ Rider weight 75 Kilos and Pillion weight 81 Kilos , Total = 156 Kilos ]

          Cheers S.V.Prasad
Thats great! Thanks. Even I've recorded some data for speeds at x RPM on x gear, will post it later!

          The mileage figure sounds impressive!

          I got ~34 kmpl on the highway 9.5 K + ripping for 115, and a 30 kms in ghats @ 7 + and some 20 kms in city that too 7+.

P.S: Top whack for me (58kg) was 140Km/hr. It still had a little bit of power left i guess. Still i din want to go beyond that!
Yep! At 10500 RPMs. We could feel her losing her breath, BUT the best part is she doesn't let us know that we have red-lined, she's that smooth! (kiss) ♥ ♥ ♥

140 is cool mate! I could go to 132 with tornado crosswinds!

Exactly! As said above, even I got 34 for some heavy ripping. Always 7+ for 50 kms and 9.5+ for 115 kms.

And 42-43 @ < 7.5 kms sounds good, especially when with a group with slower bikes!

            f. Tuck in full.. use air flow.. start seeing road through windscreen!! let rev limiter lick in one more time on 5th gear..
            g. Then change to 6th gear, full throttle..
            h. Should reach 143-144 easily..
Hitting the rev-limiter isn't good at all. In other words that's the worst thing you can do. You are only making it hard and late in attaining whatever speeds you are trying for. Do the tucking and ripping without hitting the rev-limiter and you will be seeing those numbers on the speedo. Only this time you would attained the speeds quicker. Hitting the rev-limiter is only going to put you behind in a drag !

I am using my baby R15-V2 for last couple of months. Done with 1 st servicing.
Could you guys let me know in which frequency should clean or lube the chain?
I mean normally after how many Kms should I be doing that?

              thanks in advance

Err, misquoted. By hitting rev limiter I meant, > 10 || < 10.5 on the rpm.
Or if someone is good, then 10.4 and back. Not going into the rev limit and back.

                  • Finally got my red beast Today morning .... ... Man i still can't stop admiring it .. The smile in my face started since yesterday and i headed straight for my head gear shopping at A.H.helmets in oshiwara .... Got the LS2 special military edition .. Thanks to xbhp got some discount ... Had a lonnnnggg sleep in the night ..... Got up at 7:00 am and still cudnt get over with the smile of getting my hands on the baby R .. Got all ready up and headed straight to the showroom to get a big glimpse of the beast ... but to my disappointment the showroom guy hadn't yet got the bike from his yard and asked me to wait for a while... This was probably the longest 1hr wait i have ever had ... my eyes stuck on the entry door like a glue.. And at around 11:15 A guy dressed in a blue shirt got the bike from the yard to the showroom ... The excitement was sky high at that point ... rushed straight to the doors And it was starring at me..... .. The smile went broader .. Went there and gave it a huugee kiss ... and just the thought of owning a bike again after a period of 2 and a half years is awesome. I had already booked my number on monday from worli RTO ... Unfortunately the bike is not yet registered .. and will go for registration after 3 days as per the dealer since he is yet to get the octroi slip .. .. but since i had booked the number i have already pasted the same on my number plate... ( Not sure if its legal ??? Just did it out of sheer excitement ) ..Have driven almost 50 kms today and it was fun ... Its almost the end of the day and smile is still there , the excitement is still sky high ..
                    Just one observation though .
After riding today had some tremendous pain in my palms it feels numb .. is it been experienced by everyone or just me ???
Also is there any way to subside the pain ..
May be this is the first time i am writing such a big write up .. It sure is not the perfect one but just felt of writing my heart out... And thanking all u guys in helping me or being a part of the buying experience ...
                    Thank you & Cheers ..
Planning to have a nice photo shoot done for the bike someday .. would need some nice suggestion on the location in Mumbai / Navi mumbai ???

Can you post the pic of the LS2 military edition?

Once you get used to the riding posture, it helps!
Also what I've observed is that wearing gloves helps!
