If only a few fins have been bent, then it is not a issues, it wont affect the cooling efficiency to bother you to ge ta new one. But if majority of the fins have been deformed, then getting a new radiator is the only option.

Usually happens when you apply a stream of water directly onto the radiator while cleaning the bike. That is a wrong practice and shouldn't be done so.

Depends on how big the puncture is. If it big then you should go for the inside fix, termed as mushroom patch. Else you can go ahead and fix/patch it from outside.

Is this normal or defected, because in my fiat padmini all teeths are proper.
Carburettor in R15? I think you're referring to the radiator. Those are called radiator fins. If some are bent then its ok. But if majority are bent then please ask the SVC to change it. You should've checked them while taking the delivery. But anyways try to convince them and replace it within warranty.

Please let me know what is the price of new tyres and what is the max number of puntures this tyre can hold.

No need to get disappointed. Soft compound tires trade in durability and toughness for the sake of grip. So,its inherent for them to be a bit more prone to punctures than standard tyres.

Same pinch. In fact, to be really frank my old tires lasted for almost 20,000km without a single puncture. Touchwood for the new rubber.

No. You can add my name to that. No punctures till 17k...but after that around 5...had to change the tires after 23k after getting frustrated

                • Yamaha R15 V2.0 Brakes not working properly after 1st free service.

                  Hi Guys,

I have a Yamaha R15 V2.0, bought it on 12th March 2014, and had my first free service at 500 Kms on 9 April 2014. The service was OK I guess because there was nothing much to do other than changing engine oil and washing. The man working at the service center advised me to put Teflon coating for 550 Rs. I agreed and left the bike at the service center. I came back to collect my bike at about 4 in the afternoon, the mechanic told me to ride easy for few Kms as the brakes wont work properly as they are wet. I took a test run and found that the brakes were really not working, the man told me that they will be good as before after a few Kms. I agreed and paid the bill and left. Now it has been over a week and the brakes still wont work properly. I'm really worried and not at all confident while riding.

Can the Teflon coating affect the braking. If yes for how many Kms. I have read about new brake shoes being replaced with old worn out ones by the mechanics at the service centers. I cant take a second opinion as the bike is brand new and in warrenty, taking it to any other mechanic will cancel the warrenty.

                  Please help.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

My rear tire lasted till 23k as I said in one of my previous posts...well 15k I would say is a little less...check the grooving and see if the tire has still some more life...I don't have any pic but I will try to explain about how to do this:

                    1. On both sides of the tire there will be 6 box markings across the circumference
                    2. It will look like a rectangular box with a little arrow type structure at the top middle of the rectangular box
                    3. Take a pen and try to draw line between the respective boxes of the two sides
                    4. There will be total six lines across the width if the tire
                    5. Now within or nearby the lines, in the central grooves of the tires you will find three rubber markings
                    6. Check the wall of the respective grooves compared to these three lines
                    7. Once the wall of the grooves comes near to these three markings, then you know for sure that it's time to change the tires

I will try to upload some pics for further reference...Till then hope it helps you.

I have seen them, both look good. But its a shame yamaha is still coming up with just color schemes every year.

no punctures so far in my bike as well, although just about 5600 kms old...have been in all kinds of roads as well, including some brutal and prolonged off-roading a bunch of times, and painful potholes in the midst of good roads (one of them bent my front rim a little bit) :-)
