Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I am just slightly less than 5'11".. But never have i heard from anyone that i look funny or whatever.. Same was on v1 and now on v2..Originally posted by broken87 View PostBro you're butthurt even though I didn't attempt to troll anyone here. Read my post please, neither I tried to start a flame war nor I disrespected your capable machine.
The picture above with the guy in leather suit looks uber cool indeed. However, as I stated my opinion. It is an amusing sight to see a normal tall guy riding down the street, in the city on R15 v2.0. My point is that the bike has a slightly smaller but a compact build to have such a striking YZF-R6 (my dream bike) resembling looks. To shed weight to compensate for it's 150cc engine. It is still a terrific bike to ride, feels powerless at first to Pulsarians, but with time you begin to appreciate the unique riding experience it offers.
If you don't know how it feels to be tall and riding bikes with race ergos then don't comment pls. Even my 200NS feels small to me but it's seat height and ergos feel like a perfect blend of sport and comfort.
anyways.. If anyone has a problem with this.. Now is not the time.. It was before the bike was brought.. Now just ride and enjoy this fun machine..Last edited by nadz11.ns; 11-02-2013, 09:13 PM.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I could adjust to it for a race track or one time ride within minutes. That's not the point. How comfortable you are riding it in daily life is what matters. Bike isn't gonna grow bigger and smarter in ergos with time for your taller size, you still gonna have to adjust for it forever and just get used to the odd feeling. Nothing wrong with bike at all. Infact, I give R15 v2.0 10/10. It appears like a flawless race oriented machine that is just what it needs to be with that small but capable vibe free engine. peace.Originally posted by incipient View PostI wasn't flaming you either. I gave a counter example that's all.
Also, I don't deny that R15 will feel cramped for taller riders. Its a small bike after all. But a good rider will be able to adjust to it nevertheless. And no sensible rider will buy a bike based on "how he looks on the bike".

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
yeah i dont use the rear often either...in general you would find that most riders of sportbikes in particular dont use the rear often, or if they do it's minimal...front is more than sufficient because that's how they are designed because sportbikes being front-ended motorcycles with more weight distributed on the front and thus suspensions so designed that almost all the feedback is transmitted to the rider from the front, so front is all that really matters, so to speak.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View Posthow often do you guys use the rear brake? I have almost never used it so far, maybe like 4 or 5 times. The front alone seems sufficient enough, unless I'm going on gravel or rugged terrain.
i sometimes use the rear under really hard braking, but even then only sometimes (usually just for a change
)...when on highly slippery road (dusty or muddy or semi-damp,semi-dry types etc), i use the rear a good deal (though, again, not always), often with using the front minimally as well..with a pillion too, i tend to use the rear more than usual.
that's not to say that the rear is useless in the dry.Last edited by aditya_YZF-R15; 11-02-2013, 09:48 PM.

I use the rear only at crawling speeds to keep it smooth. Otherwise for my riding its all front.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostAs I had been riding I was thinking of asking this, how often do you guys use the rear brake? Logically that's how it should be. But my bike goes from 2 bars to reserve a lot quicker than say 4 to 2. Also you need to take the reading when the bike is upright (not on center stand). When cornering i have seen the reading drop by 1 bar. ;-)Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostI also have another question to ask, how much fuel does each bar represent. I think there are 6 bars when the fuel is full, does this mean each represents approximately 2 litres of fuel?Last edited by incipient; 11-02-2013, 10:49 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Theoretically yea... But actually its not. From my observation 3rd bar will stay longest and 1st shortest. Rest all will stay almost for equal km. you'll get to know after 3 tank fills and you can actually judge later on how many km it will run in each bar. Also each bar will go off once and come back again (while riding. Not after putting it in stand and taking) that means you have driven half the distance in that bar of fuel. Hope you get it.Originally posted by Ezilkannan View PostI also have another question to ask, how much fuel does each bar represent. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys, I ride a P220 at present.P220 definitely has more power than R15 but i'm missing something which P220 can't give (P220 riders can understand this).
I'm thinking of getting a used R15.Would it be a good move ??

You will not regret it , thats sure . I am one of those happy riders who traded P220 for R15. I never felt anything , this bike will do everything the 220 does (my observation )Originally posted by rakshit rana View PostGuys, I ride a P220 at present.P220 definitely has more power than R15 but i'm missing something which P220 can't give (P220 riders can understand this).
