Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Super!! I will be draining in another 500km just to be safe.. Will let you know on the condition. But the cheaper price of ows 600 bucks a litre compared to 900 for 300v and double ester in motul makes me wonder whether it can really be better. Not that costlier is always better.Originally posted by Ivin View Post

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
You can safely run 4k kms , just check the oil level. I know many running even on 7k kms on the 300v. I am also thinking of Motul 7100 FS. Will cost around 650. Has to decide between themOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostSuper!! I will be draining in another 500km just to be safe.. Will let you know on the condition. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Ya ok.. But. Find it pretty difficult to check oil level with dipstick. Read manual and followed all steps. Still cant get accurate reading as glass window. If you can give some tips or pics, it will be really helpful. ThanksOriginally posted by Ivin View PostYou can safely run 4k kms , just check the oil level. Make sure that the bike is in straight position, like how it would stand if it was on a center stand. And take the dipstick out, clean it, re-insert and check the level. For better knowledge on dip stick markings, refer the manual. Its clearly written there. And do this only on a cold engine.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostYa ok.. But. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Ya its bit confusing in manual.. The shaded portion( striped)in dipstick is where we should measure right?? The top of the shaded portion is high and bottom is low na? This is how i understood.Originally posted by Ivin View PostMake sure that the bike is in straight position, like how it would stand if it was on a center stand. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I have a couple of questions:Originally posted by Ivin View Postows might be better or maybe not. Since I am completely happy with 300v, I am sticking to it. Its still green in colour after 4k kms.
1. How's the oil consumption? Did you have to top up the oil during the 4k km?
2. What tangible difference or improvement have noticed w.r.t. Yamalube Semi-synth?
3. How's your riding style? Do rev hard (9.5k +) often?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
you guys change oil yourself, and i don't think you put Yamalube oil at service time.....so will it not affect warranty when yamalube is recommended while service?Originally posted by Ivin View PostYou can safely run 4k kms , just check the oil level. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
yeah. Right. And Top up if low.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostYa its bit confusing in manual.. The shaded portion( striped)in dipstick is where we should measure right?? The top of the shaded portion is high and bottom is low na? This is how i understood.
1. No top ups have been required. Its still upto the mark.Originally posted by incipient View PostI have a couple of questions:

2. Bike is more smooth, smoother gear shifts, high draining interval.
3. No, I drive at about 6k rpm and occasional bursting to the redline (once in a blue moon
)
Who said Yamalube is recommended ? The manual clearly states the grade of oil, not the manufacturer. You can give the oil to svc while service. Tell them you need this. And see what they say.Originally posted by Princepaji View Postyou guys change oil yourself, and i don't think you put Yamalube oil at service time.....so will it not affect warranty when yamalube is recommended while service?Ride, ride and ride.. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Level is normal... Checked as you said, but both sides of the dipsticks read different. I don't know which one should i take it into account. When i insert the dipstick, the side which is at the bottom shows full and the side on top shows half. Anyways both are normal,so level is ok i guessOriginally posted by Ivin View Postyeah. Right. you know, I am lazyOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostMaybe pic of your dipstick with level would help :/
Just see if the oil reaches at least the half of the markings on the dip stick. Thats what I was told by Yamaha svc. So dont worry.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
That is the problem, The SVC guys says that if i don't take oil while servicing then you wont get any proof oil change on service time which can make problem while Warrenty claim.....Originally posted by Ivin View Post

and i seriously need warranty because i find a big problem on the way as it might need valves change......

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Just send a mail to Yamaha. I got things sorted out that way. There's nowhere in the manual where it says to use the oil which the svc provides . Here, they let me add my oil without any hesitation and without voiding warranty.Originally posted by Princepaji View PostThat is the problem, The SVC guys says that if i don't take oil while servicing then you wont get any proof oil change on service time which can make problem while Warrenty claim.....
