Yeah but they were all i different bikes i suppose. The condition of the bike, how its maintained and run-in makes a difference too.

For example, i know for a fact that my bike makes less power than bikes that have been run-in well. At my previous job i had to travel 40km to & fro daily on the Yamuna expressway. On most of it you can go full throttle. I could barely reach 135kmph on most runs. The highest i have seen is 138. That's with 69kg lean weight and full riding gear (~8kg).

I have to say that's been the worst riding experience ever. As there are only straights, its mindnumbingly boring and also very dangerous because of the high speed traffic and the morons behind the wheels of 4-wheelers (most cars can go a lot faster). R15 feels underpowered on highways and sustained riding at over 9k will wear out the bike sooner. Also there is a deafening noise in my helmet at high speed from wind turbulence caused by the windshield. A good pair of 3M earplugs helps.

no way it will be 7.5 maybe you are confused as you said.

i have touched the revv limiter on 6th gear few times. attained speeds of 145+ all the way til 153. need proper conditions to do this. and they are speedo indicated.

I hit 148 without hitting the rev limiter in lower gears.. Shifts at 9k RPM and fully crouched from the beginning and super awsm Tarmac I weigh 62kg.
Once I shifted at 7k RPM and speedo stopped at 128 kmph.. Dunno what rpm that is. So Shift RPM matters.

Also it depends on run-in and how well you maintain your bike and of course wind conditions. Are you crouching btw?? It's impossible without crouching.

guess that depends on highways...i have ridden extensively on the asian highway 1 (which is also part of the golden quadrilateral), it's an excellent 4 lane highway (actually somewhat wider than a standard 4-lane, because there's a good deal of safety-space on both sides of the road), sometimes 6-lane too, and R15 doesnt feel underpowered on it...cars there run real fast but i go even faster without even crouching or even nearly fully throttled....yamuna expressway on the other hand probably is even better road (it's specially known for being a road for speeding), so yeah cars probably do much faster there, in which case i guess R15 would feel underpowered..

my weight is btw like 53-64 :P, and with gear add about 5 kgs more at most..so that helps i guess.

maybe it's helmet to helmet dependent but even at 135 kmph i dont feel much wind noise inside...i just hear more of the bike screaming than the wind turbulence :-)

I dont know why, when ever i feel like riding hard.....i shift at 10.5k rpm.....thats bad,......but i dont do it on cold engine.....and because i ride hard every now and then,,,,,,my bike makes a tnnnn sound at high Rpms....i started to ignore now as Yamaha engineer was also not able to understand the sound.....

Back after considerable amount of time. I need an advice free ki :P need some inputs on where to stack up the two thin ballasts in our bike. I try to push n somehwat secure it. but i want a near to permanent solution, Coz everytime it runs over a pothole, the ballasts come loose. dangling from under the headlights.
Also on another note. Met with an accident yesterday, no damage apart from a spondilitis striken right mirror and a minor scratch on the exhaust. The handle seems to slightly towards the right, need to fix that like we did on our bi-cycles. no wobble at any speeds from the front nor any to and fro play in the forks n front assembly.. So I'm sure that its not a major damage. Just the handle bar needs to be adjusted. One more thing i noticed is that even if it appears to be towards right. the distance between the tank and handle bar is same throughtout at full turns on both the sides. To sum it need inputs on
                      1) permanent solution to fix the HiD ballasts.
                      2) about the mis-justed (read wrongly alligned due to crash) handle bar
                      .

Ont the accident part : i was coming from office. some bike wala was waiting on the opposite lane to take a u turn. Car dashed into his bike and before i could realise it came all the way onto my lane and boom into right side of my bike. And me.. well FLAT on the road
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

No I didn't crouch to start.. Just after 120kmph.. And my experience with it was in comparison to two other r15s subjected to the same environmental conditions.. The only difference might be that they are newer than mine and had higher tire pressure

ows might be better or maybe not. Since I am completely happy with 300v, I am sticking to it. Its still green in colour after 4k kms.
