Guys, I got in an accident and scrapped the rhs of my black green R15.
The bike is given to Ganesh Enterprise Vikhroli.
He said it will cost around 14k to change the parts. 50% will be covered by insurance but still isnt 14k a bit too much...
Parts to be changed are marked, also the headlight assembly needs to be changed but i dont think its damaged

guys had gone to svc to change the oil and oil filter since my bike has 250km on odo.
svc guys told me that they only have Semi synthetic oil which they use in r15 v2.
my query is that should i put mineral oil or semi synthetic oil?
and if the svc guys dont have mineral oil but are ready to change if i provide them with one. which mineral oil should i buy?

      Reply ASAP guys

If mineral, use Yamalube-20W40..which costs around Rs/-305.

Total of 14K is too much.
The headlight assembly with stay will cost around 3000 bucks. The exhaust cover is around 350. The RHS fairings total costs is not more than 2-3 K though I am not sure. But in total it should not go beyond 6/7K.
You can check the price in Yamaha catalog itself present in SVCs. Don't believe in just what they say. Better check in any Yamaha Factory shop if its there near by where you stay.

Should i go for the oil and oil filter change now?

And I keep the rpm at 4 - 4.2 in all the gears. Sometimes giving a occasional burst up to 6 - 6.5k
          Am i doing it right?
And do i need to follow any other things in the run in procedure?

          Reply ASAP
Change Oil/filter when your 1st service is due only.
Yes, you are doing right buddy. Jut follow the manual, you and your bike will be fine

Use any oil. Makes no difference as long as you change oil regularly and on time.

Go to Kamla Yamaha service centre at Sewri and show your bike to Rakesh. He will give you a correct estimate and you will not be taken for a ride. That service centre is pretty decent and you will get better service than a factory shop.

Yesterday completed 2000 kms. Today morning ripped the bike for good 30 mins with some fast superbikes. Did 135kmph and roads didn't allowed after that.

                          • Heating Problem OR Delhi Heat ?

Had my 4th service service yesterday @ 6k. All they did was oil change, oil filter change, air filter clean, lubes. After the test ride, the mechanic adjusted the clutch, now i have to release the clutch fully. he said this is how it should be, i was like ok. Earlier it was like, i had to press the clutch fully but as soon as i woudl release it, bike will move. Now bike moves almost when the clutch is fully released. Rest is ok. RPM is less 1.3k (1.45 k is what i kept always). Somehow the bike seems more aggressive and i think this is just not in my head this time. Also as soon as i start it, with in 15-20 mins i would start feeling the heat around my leg. Went for a small ride (6 kms), could feel the heat, RHS fairing has a spot where it is not possible to keep my hand for more then 20 secs. even the fan kicked in. This might be the delhi heat.

This is the first summer with my R15 so am a noob right now. But what worries me is that the ride i went for was at 9pm, still so hot. And am also pretty sure the mechanic did not did anything else as i was with him all the time.

Any suggestions ? or is this normal ?

^^ Just the summer heat, small rides tend to accentuate heating, if you ride a bit faster the heating will be less.

Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Right, I redlined all day yesterday and heat was there for sure but fan kicked in only when I rode slow in streets. Don't forget its R1's child and R1 is famous for crazy heat. Btw one pic from yesterday's shoot.
