There's no issue with the front forks unless and until you go through a pot hole and bump really bad. It will damage the forks and then you'll get and the forks will make all sorts of kat-kat dhus-dhus sounds however you may like to describe it. As Eshan has very well mentioned about the scratches and the golden colored thingo( if at all forks are damaged). You can check with existing owner of R15 in your city regarding that. Seeing is believeingOriginally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostBro actually I wanted to know the reasons for this problem; why it happens & also is it very common in R15?????????? Coz it seemed like a pretty serious problem….

In the end it all depends on the way you ride it and the care you take.
It's your call mate.
Keep Calm and Kaam se Kaam
To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Bro now you have all the answers on your questions, now it will be your call !
But remember unless until you don't drive a car on road you won't know when will the traffic signals would go green/ red !! I don't think any R15 owner here is complaining or regretting of the bike as people do on other threads! This shows smiling ownership of R15 !
All bikes have some or the other issues! And believe me owing a R15 is really a complete different feeling !
Owning a R15 makes you a commuter on a Sports bike + you get well aware how a sports bike feels and rides/ handle. Which will help you in your higher cc sports bike riding/handling!

Thanks mate.... But the difficult part is where to stop filling (when the tank is nearly full ) bcz last time I filled, even though the tank lukd full.. Still the bunk person can fill some more into it... Bcz if u miss 100 ml, it's gonna affect your calculation for sureOriginally posted by somen1984 View PostGo to petrol pump reset any trip X to "0"kms and full tank it. Later ride the bike say to some 150-200 kms or 2-4days as per use and full tank it again. Now note the numbers of liter went in your tank while refueling it. Now calculate the Kms on trip meter against the no of liters you refilled while refueling! You will get the average of your bike.
But here there are some constraints which you have to look:
1. If you vary the speed then you will get a mix average.
2. So you have to be on either on your ripper mode or on your comfortable riding mode.
These ways you can get an average for ripping and normal riding. It's better you try one by one instead of mix riding!!Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

There is nothing called as wrong decision. these are machines, anything can happen. even from a nut missing to engine seizure. cant really predict. but i can assure you that r15 has not given me any problems. you have to make sure you maintain it and ride sensibly. We are here to help each other only. but the thing is what was normal, you thought it was problem.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostBro I am aware that R15 is a great bike… I just want to know all the issues associated with it before I come to a conclusion... And I guess the best way to know that is to ask you all….so please don’t think that I am trying to look for problems …. I just don’t want to end up taking a wrong decision…
exactly what i was talking about.Originally posted by somen1984 View PostBro now you have all the answers on your questions, now it will be your call !

Thanks Eshan. I went to SVC late today, so no one could attend my bike. One of the service personnel came and said will check it tomorrow, he started the bike and vroooom, accelerated it hard till 11k rpm on neutral gear. I was willing to get a jail sentence for his murder at that point
.. By the way Where do I get stickers for the shocks (g stickers
) ??

Hi everyone, I think I'll be buying the R15 by the end of this month.
Can you please give me some information about the maintenance of the bike? Actually, I'm a college student and it should not be too heavy on the pocket. :P
My weekly riding will be around 100 kms.
What extra maintenance it needs when compared to an FZ?
How much does both free and paid services cost and what do they include?
What about the durability of parts and the frequency of changing them and their respective price (like the steering bearings/ball racer, air filter, oil filter, etc.)?
I have read about issues people had with the fuel pump. Is it something to do with improper maintenance? Does an FI system needs any additional maintenance?
Is the low and mid-range torque close to an FZ?
Please help!Last edited by anishbora; 01-11-2013, 06:56 PM.
