Guys.....small doubt. i cant ask anywhere,so dont scold me :P Didnt take my Babe yesterday...It has done 300 on odo and till now perfect run-in. Took it today..Nice warm-up in local streets and then out on the highway,i thought i culd make her see some of her potential (Just a short burst) ...So took her slowly to 6k Rpm and the sound was not normal...It was some kind of big grunt ( Bit hard ) then slowed her down to 5k Rpm and after some time again took it to 6k Rpm..And this time it was smooth... Is it normal?? Am asking bcz i have never xperienced R15 above 6k Till now....Please help

the projectors with HID will obviously increase the lighting! you will love it. but the angels dont. they are just for show. i will suggest, only projectors.Originally posted by neodecoder View PostThanks, Ron!
2. Both!
So... we can install Angels without the projectors? (Sorry, im a n00b at this)
true. +1 but if you need more lighting on the road then there are no options. this has been one of the reasons other then the battery thing that i have not yet gone for projectors. not to mention the costs involved :POriginally posted by Sushrut View PostI personally like the R15 with the stock headlamps. Projector/angel eye thingie looks best only when it is done by the manufacturers, eg, the R1[pre 2009 version] and Audis with angel eyes look so natural with them.
@neo, the costs maybe well above 5k for both angels and projectors.
BTW eshan, this was the amount of mist yesterday morning.
this is 6.20 in the morning.

Thanks for the inputs, guys. But yes, projectors cost too much. Guess I will go in for just the Angel Eyes. They cost just 400-600 bucks. And since they dont void the warranty, its good.Originally posted by Ron Syl View Postthe projectors with HID will obviously increase the lighting! you will love it. but the angels dont. they are just for show. i will suggest, only projectors.

Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hi... Is the rear disc really bad??? Stopping power in my rear disc is really bad.. Mine is just 2 weeks old and there is no chance of worn out disc pads. But my rear disc alone heats up a lot even though I use it very rarely. Is there a chance of my disc pads touching the discs constantly even when not applying the brakes???(if yes.. How to check??)
And my local streets are really bad, almost full of potholes. Does going over them everyday at very slow speeds like 10-20 kmph affect my forks???Last edited by siddharthsure; 01-15-2013, 02:38 PM.Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

Good point yo have raised. I too feel rear disc is not even 10% of the front disc. Will check it over weekendOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostHi... Is the rear disc really bad??? You cannot compare the front Disc Brake with the rear one on several parameters like -
1) This disc size is small than front, that means less stopping power.
2) The rear disc has engine transmission pressure.
3) Most of the weight is front biased which means additional stopping power in front and not in rear.
Now, based on these parameters the rear stopping power will obviously be less.
@ Siddharth - your bike is 2 weeks old, please give the pads some time to adjust, even for tires. Yes it will heat up even if you stop at 5kmph speed. You can check if they are touching by just rotating the wheel and inspecting a hiss sound after rotations, it will be repetitive. No it doesn't affect the fork, potholes are there that's why the suspensions are there.
Himanshu - refer above information.
@all - Any guidelines for replacements or checking in the 5th servicing? V2 members with over 5th service please reply.sigpic

Change of engine oil, oil filter, air filter (if not already changed before), spark plug, greasing of coneset, swingarm, wheel bearings.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post@all - Any guidelines for replacements or checking in the 5th servicing? V2 members with over 5th service please reply.
Missed to update the thread, I am done with my 7th service. Went through regular servicing with replacment of engine oil, oil filter, front disc pads. Also had the Bardahl engine oil additive put in. Could feel the difference in smoothness initially but nothing noticeable now. My advice - not worth it (Rs. 135), dont go for it.

Stop worrying too much about your bike, enjoy her instead. Nothing is gonna happen if you simply service her regularlyOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys.....small doubt. i cant ask anywhere,so dont scold me :P Didnt take my Babe yesterday...It has done 300 on odo and till now perfect run-in. Have you changed the chain sprocket set yet ?
I was advised by the SVC in my 6th servicing itself to do so, but I didn't as there seemed to be more life in the chain.
Now ODO reads 17K and chain needs tightening after every 750-800 kms. Took it to another SVC and they said it can go little more.
What do you suggest or your experience on that.sigpic
