    1. How comfortable is R15 for long rides?
You'll have to get used to it...I'm 6.1 feet tall but all the previous bikes i've owned had a sporty position..being used to such bikes i feel no pain be it wrist pain or back pain except when i go for 70kms+ rides

    2. How well does it hold on to a bit of offroading? I mean, in my hometown, the place has got the least of the roads and are mostly dirt/slush or mud.
this is my personal opinion and might differ to what others say...R15 is a stiff bike compared to the 'springy' suspension of ur p150...sure it can take a bit of off-roading but it won't be as comfortable

    3. How hard it is to maintain it like an eveyday bike? You know, I am jumping from my 55 KMPL P150 to R15.
I use the bike for daily commuting...thats 30kms give or take(i know its less) but the bike performs exceptionally well...followed the run-in method as per the manual and faced no problems till date...except for the frequent chain cleaning and lubing there is no other matter which would require ur attention...right from the day of service to the date of the next service..she's as smooth as she was and a joy to ride

    4. What is the price of the fairing, the complete set and the brake pads?
Can't really comment on this since I own a LE and am more well versed with LE spares...all i can say is LE spares ain't cheap

    5. Indian question : KITNA DETI HAI? Fuel Efficiency?
This really depends on how you ride but according to my experience when i maintained speeds above 5k rpm it was 38.8kmpl and speeds below 4.5k it was 42.9kmpl

I know that now there are on paper/on account balance, better options from other manufacturers like Bajaj and Honda and HMC, but I am smitten by the beauty of the Baby R1. She is a like Angelina Jolie or Penelope Cruz or Scarlet Johanson. Performs the best and looks the best.
    She sure is

Also, is it ok if I go for a handlebar grip if I happen to get her home? I mean like the ones we get in foam type so that I can reduce a bit of pain?
you can but doesn't really help

Also, do we have any provisions like V1 to make it a single seater (I don't remember the name of that fiber/plastic thingy)?
its called a seat cowl...sadly for now we don't have one...but i guess there soon will be

No GF, no wife, no daily commuting sis , dad will never sit with me and will take his trusted steads, Bajaj Super(26 years old) or Maruti 800 (13 years old) so pillion can be tossed. Also, do we have any provisions like V1 to make it a single seater (I don't remember the name of that fiber/plastic thingy)?

I'm also an r15 lover, and I can assure you that replacing pulsar 150 with an r15, is surely an upgrade. I'm waiting for my baby R, which may come any day now, so thought of sharing some info with you. Firstly, My close friend owns a pulsar 150 and we meet like, every other day and I ride it most of the time. And when I ride the R15 after getting down from the pulsar, Its just bliss. No offense to the cool pulsar or anything, but it just really is a class apart and a true upgrade

      Now, for your queries. .

      1. I've ridden my friend's R for long distances, it was kinda my 1st time after the test ride ,but felt great on it. You just have to find the right posture for yourself and you're good to go there are many Xbhpians who have gone on real long tours with it.. Respect

      2. Compared to the pulsar, it feels kinda stiff off-road, but if you're just talking about dirty roads and stuff, you won't have much problem, because the places we went with it didn't have the best roads.

      3. For this, you just have turn few pages back and look. Just little things like chain lubing and just taking care of it.

      4. I don't really know about the fairing, but heard its difficult to replace if damaged in hyderabad . I learnt that the front lower panel and the tail fairing together cost around INR2400. I too need the full fairing price, just in case

      5. This, depends entirely on you. Don't screw up the run-in , take care of the oil and filter changes, and follow the manual, and the bike will return the favour

And as you said, on paper, there are other options, which may seem better. But, you're not buying the paper. The feel of riding on the beauty is just unbeatable.

I'm an only son and don't have that pillion problem either . just some friends now and then. But, its a treat to the rider ..

Hope you got what you needed. All the best

      • guys what is the best solution for cleaning drive chain of r15....there are thousands of opinion on the net as a result of that im in big confusion as to what would be the safest combination to use on a o ring chain....however yamaha dealers in jaipur use diesel and motul chain lube to clean...is diesel safe for the chain or shall i go for motul chain clean and chain lube combination coz its getting too harsh on the chain these days due to rain....many say scrubbing chain with a tootbrush makes matter worse...help me

              • hey guys... i am new to the r15 family... and my bike has clocked 580kms till now..

i have raced the bike till 105kmph on 7000rpm after it crossed the 500km mark on the odometer... is there a problem with it????
i was adviced that i should run the bike under 4500rpm till 500km and under 7000rpm till 1000km by my friend during the run-in period....

also there is no humming sound coming from my bike when it is turned on... infact when i start the engine it gives a sound like "teeeeeeeee"..
i asked the mechanic of the service center about the problem... but he said that this sound is normal for r15....

                help guys...

welcome and chill buddy do not take every little sound that come from the bike to a fault or something bad. as abhimanyu31 said, its normal. and its not what speed you reach but how u reach there, if you keep ripping it on every second then its gonna cost you. just give a gradual rise

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

Was it the first morning start? coz on cooler days it is common to see white exhaust smoke when first starting a ur ride. This is generally steam caused by condensation...or in the worst cases it is an indication of a leak, not just any kind of leak, but a leak that is allowing either oil, coolant, or transmission fluid to get into the cylinder!

                              Hi,
I think there's nothing to worry about if it happened just once, could be the water in your exhaust.
