  • Hi guys ,

Yesterday evening went to the SVC for giving my Redrachel for her 4th SERVICE , its
9400 KMS in the ODO and i had complaints like rough feel in the front disc braking ,
today i got a call from SVC stating the FRONT DISC PAD needs to be replaced and it has worn out , bascally i apply brakes at 60:40 ratio with front:rear ,,, now
    im curious to know

whats the life of the Disc pads ? replacement duration

and i also had gear shift issues from 1 to 2 , its locking in neutral at times , even though with full clutch usage ??

kindly throw some light on this !!!!

A Fz chasis is worth 10,990INR.
R15's should be my GUESS, 19,990INR.

4k for repair - well cant really comment bro.

Well, even if you use the ratio of 60:40 or 70:30 it doesn't really give the detail about the braking habit. If you ride your REDRACHEL spiritedly then coming down from that speed with the similar braking ratio does eat up the brake pads. I don't own R15 but the above seems logical to me. There is no specific replacement duration though. I hope this has solved your query.

Your RedRachel is still with the service center or is it back from servicing? If its back from servicing and you noticed it after that then I guess you may need to ask the SVC guys to adjust the clutch. Also, may be there is a probability that you may not be applying sufficient pressure while changing the gears.

                • Onroad price and preferred dealer in Hyd

Guys from Hyd, can anyone please tell me the onroad price of R15 V2 in here? I am seriously considering a replacement for my 1 year 2 months young Pulsar 150, having clocked a mere 7120 kms. Somehow after I rode my friend's R15, the bug has not only bitten me, but has ripped me.

I am in a major dilemma of Heart (R15) vs Mind (P220) for their respective pros and cons. I go GA-GA over fairing so these two are my options. This should actually go in 'Which Bike' section, but if I can get the onroad price and maintenance costs overview and if I can manage to pull up funds in a month or so, I will go for R15.

I weigh 52 kilos and just manages to be 5'6" from ground zero.

Thanks mate. From which dealer and what color? Seems like there is not much hike in price since the last time I got the info. I stay in Anojiguda, 11 kms on Warangal highway from Uppal. How is the initial feel?

I got it from Ashoka Motors in Mettuguda (~5km from Uppal). I am still not done with the engine break in. It is well established that it is boring below 5,000 RPM.

                          • Only HIDs are an issue as cops catch you more. But its legal with projectors AFAIK..
If possible,go for 3-inch projectors with HIDs.They are much better and larger.Kindly PM me where ur getting it from, along with the price.I'm also interested in buying new eyes for my ride.

                            • Any change to a car/bike from how it came from the factory excluding manufacture approved accessories is illegal.

That said, Yamaha really needs to do something about the lights. Projector is recommended due to the spread of light being restricted to the roads rather than the driver/rider in front of you. As of now, there is no proven projector solutions available in India, at least nothing that I am aware if. Most of the guys in our groups who have installed have faced some problem or the other in projector setup although nothing that cannot be repaired. HID solution, if you want to go for defying the legal/illegal issues, is readily available. 4000K H4 on high beam is enough to handle the night rides.

                              • Went on 3km ride on a bicycle.

Realised how weak I've become. Back when I was in 8th grade, I could cycle round for hours and hours together. But today. Damn, my stamina's become so low. My thighs are in so much pain.

Anyway! The 3km ride was cut down to 2. Was fun, still. Had an ear-to-ear smile all those 10mins. Good ol' childhood.
