you are lucky thenOriginally posted by Techiemechie View PostI had the same problem on my newly delivered bike.
For sometime after start-up the speedo showed random readings (like 100 when the bike was in 1st gear!) and then shut down and kept showing zero for a while and then showed random readings again.
Turns out a malfunctioning sensor was the culprit. The SVC guys replaced it free of cost for me.
by the way mine is not a sensor problem i guess, it seems to be an issue with the wiring, so don't know if it comes under warranty.
i need to look for other SVCs here then just confirm if anyone of them are doing it for free or not...else 600 bucks

Do NOT use Diesel on chains to clean them - o,x, open or for that matter any type of chain. It may help to clean faster but it reduces the life of the rubber ring like thingy between adjacent chain links. In fact, some people do not recommend WD40 even. Anything with high penetration capability is not good. It makes the o-ring rubber brittle and wear away soon. Best bet is mild and thorough brushing with kerosene and then lubing it. Takes quite a lot of time though.Originally posted by chothibai View Postany one on this plzzzz!!
Your ASC uses diesel coz it makes the job easier and faster for them. Can't really expect them to use a costly chain cleaner spray/brush endlessly with kerosene!
Amongst solvents, diesel comes cheaper! For a dazzling shine and super cleaning, some guys have also used a solution of powder detergent like Tide+Diesel. Scrubbed the chain clean with that and washed with pressurized water and lubed. Works for them! But I suggest, stay clear off too harsh solvents.
Alternately, you can use:
1. Motul Chain Cleaner Spray and Lube
2. TVS Chain cleaner and Spray
3. OKS chain cleaner
4. Diamond chain spray - quite a few of xbhpians with CBR250R, DUKE are using it w/o any problems and good reviews too!

thanks for the info dudeOriginally posted by TeeJayy View PostOil - Shell AX7 10W40 SS
Petrol - I try to fill up Shell regular whenever possible, with Shell premium once in a while. Regular unleaded petrol otherwise. My priority (nothing factual here, purely my judgement) - Shell -> BP -> HP -> IndianOil.
Did not measure the exact timings n all but I think the bike does 135 on its own, beyond which you need
1. to crouch fully,
2. to redline, especially from gear 5 to 6 since the 6th gear is overdrive, meant for cruising, wont give you much power,
3. no/ negligible cross winds,
4. some tail winds,
5. slight slope,
6. long traffic free road.
PS: I take no pride in declaring my top speed. Nothing to boast about. It takes lots of time n miles to know the bike, its capabilities, limitations n more importantly your own capabilities n limitations. Pls DO NOT attempt these speeds on your R15 just because it can go there. You need to anticipate things in a fraction of a second at those speeds. Further, its better to have such speed runs on roads you know/ have ridden before recently.

All the best Manpreet. Go thru the manual n follow it religiously when you get your R15.Originally posted by [email protected] View PostThis is my first Post with XBHP, i have Hunk with me right now and would be getting R15 v2 Sunset red on Gurunanak jayanti. It is always better to go for a good chain cleaner instead of using diesel, petrol, kerosene, etc. I currently use 3M chain cleaner, costs 200 bucks for 500 ml. For lubing, I use Tribocor (Rs. 300 for 500 ml), which many say is best during the rains because its frothy n holds on well.Originally posted by chothibai View Postany one on this plzzzz!!

it is working OK..no issues about the quality. But it lasts max for 3 times(small bottle-120rs)which is way too costly!Originally posted by BloggingWheels View Post4. Diamond chain spray - quite a few of xbhpians with CBR250R, DUKE are using it w/o any problems and good reviews too!

Thanks, washing with detergent is the best way to clean without any damage to chain, and moreover little kerosene can be used. Keeping chain in good condition makes feel good while on road.
Always respect our Bike, She will respect you with performance. i have Hunk and completed 25k KM in 3 years and still people say, congratulation for new bike.

There are no different ways of removing the chain if your looking for a replacement. You need to remove the locking link on the chain, then pull out the connecting link.Originally posted by Ivin View PostAnyone knows the best method to remove the chain when changing the chain-sprocket kit? Please refer to the image attached. A marks the lock and B the connecting link. That's the only way of disconnecting the chain and putting in the new one.Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Are you sure about it?. I dont think anyone will pull out the connecting link for a new chain. For removing the old , its ok , but for the new. The chain alone of the R15 v2 costs a whooping Rs.2000 and I am not in a mood to disconnect the connecting link which I think may affect the total ability of the new one.Originally posted by R-series View PostThere are no different ways of removing the chain if your looking for a replacement. Mechanics refuse to pull out the link of a new one and sometimes at sudden acceleration, the possibility of getting the link disconnected is high.
There should be some other way to remove it. I thought of doing it myself, but it looks like svc is the only option..
And moreover, is there a connecting link for the v2 chain??
