    • Another shot of my bike with the led lighting on it

I dont know if there is enough interest for me to post a complete DIY, but here are the key aspects of my setup

      1. Did not use LED strips, but 4 light units which consists of 3 bright LEDs each. this was to ensure maximum light output with minimum power consumption
Also this unit was water and dust resistant since it was sealed with some type of resin, it was pasted on to the frame with a high quality double sided tape.

      2. The power was sourced through the aux light circuit, no wires were cut, rather a wire was inserted into the clips at the base of the aux light wire which then went into a switch and to the LED's.

      3. The lights are positioned in a way that the LED's can not be seen from any angle whatsoever, you'd have to look at the bike from underneath or place it on a jack to see the lights, its only the red light and not the LED that is seen.

      4. A waterproof switch was also used which is placed on the inside of the left black fibre piece beside the speedometer, the switch cant be seen easily and is also easily removable since the wires connect to it via a clip, this is for easy removal and minimum obstruction of any work that may need to be carried out by the service guys.

      5. IMPORTANT
It must be made sure that no wire or plastic component of the whole setup, and i mean no part of it should ever come in touch with any part of the engine, since it could lead to a fire. This is to be taken utmost care of, in this setup, the wiring used here was of the right length and channeled through the wiring harness already existing on the bike.

Also the setup was made to be completely waterproof, starting with the led's which were water proof, then each wire was inserted into a thin rubber tube and sealed with tape on both ends.

      How did i test it?
Well, by keeping a spare fuse in hand while i turned on my water hose to the maximum and shot water all over the wiring and the LED's while they were on, this represented the worst case scenario, and once the fairings were back on there was no way ever, that the bike could go through such massive levels of water. So it would definitely be water proof.
Then i also did a lot of revving around and heating up of the engine and checked heat levels on wires running around, by hand, to make sure that no wire is getting unnecessarily hot.

What about the wattage, wont this thing drain the battery?
      The logic is this:
The bike is designed to run with two 35w headlamps = 70 watts.
When its on the low beam, only one light is turned on, so 35watts supposed to go to the other bulb is free, or rather simply sitting there. why not use those 35watts on putting up well designed fancy lighting stuff??
moreover, there are just 12 bright led bulbs turned on, and it wont consume any more than 5 watts in my humble opinion.

Whats the point of this setup?
when you have such a big awesome and edgy looking air vent on the side, why not enhance it further by giving it some lights, some oomph? Also, this could be like your first DIY on lighting and stuff, you could actually learn stuff from doing this, I did this with no background in electronics whatsoever and when I showed an electrician this setup in full view, he was amazed.

Well this is how I did it, if you want me to do a detailed DIY with pics, you can just keep PM'ing me, i need some pushing to get me off my lazy ass, but once i do, its all good.

      Heres the pic..
Please enlarge it and have a good look...
      cheers..

If at all you guys own R15 V2 and getting that FE then it means you guys do not know how to ride a bike.
Ah forgot to add : GET A LIFE!
Iam attaching a picture of the poll results, i find some owners do not even own a R15v2 but have still posted their vote, quite cheesy I tell you, but the fun fact is, you have the names there also, these members should have thought first before posting. Thanks Antz for keeping the results open.

She looks awesome. Loved it bro.

EDIT - I also do not care the rating going up and down, we as members know the reality and also know how it has helped so ignore the rating. Doesnt make a difference.

That's an engine not a lolly pop candy that will melt after couple of licks.

i voted, inspite of not owning v2,on behalf of one of my friend who is not so active on xbhp.he reported as low as 12 kmpl mileage, that claim got me curious to test r15's efficiency over a stretch of 73.6 km,found out it is more in the 35-40 range.

p.s.=fun fact indeed but not cheesy.

and the question remains why do i race?

So i know couple of members who own sbks and other rides yet they are inactive on the thread, so should I post on their behalf? Doesnt make sense dude...

So now what? you gonna post tips and queries again by taking a TD of your friend's bike and post here again? tell me you got something better!

All we wanna say is, this poll is meant for owners of the bike who even face fluctuations in mileages, so what if you took a ride of your friend's R15, its good you helped him out but mileage on regular use does fluctuate buddy and for that you atleast need sometime with the bike and not 100 odd kms, the poll taken is permanent up there.
