sorry but i never read anything like that. i didnt push the bike to limits {never as it was not mine and didnt have to because i knew the limits} like the ktm guys. BTW everyday ride in bangalore city is very similar to off-roading
@abhi m i right or wrong?
dude dont do that. keep it around 4k to 5k rpm till 500kms to 700kms. then open up little to 7k rpm till 1.3k kms. this machine is built to revv not to go like a splendorOriginally posted by himanshunegi1987 View Post

Also guys, today i went to CP and back home, its was around 25kms total. When i came back home, i could still smell that burning smell, kind of that comes off new things. Sorry hard to explain. Anyways, ths question was my fan was spinning, it is normal for bike to get his hot within just 25kms that too at 6am ?

As Ronnie already said, dont keep it under 3.5, take it all the way till 5, else you are lugging the engine and doing harm. The manual also says that occasional bursts beyond the recommended rev range are fine when the engine is warm. So dont worry so much.Originally posted by himanshunegi1987 View PostAm keeping it around 3.5 as has just covered 37 km. 4-5k after 500. Please let me know if i am wrong. Regarding the fan coming on, it is normal for a new bike to have its radiator fan turned on within even 5 kms of riding, so it is nothing to worry about. As the engine gets set in, this will go down.
Sushrut, this is news to me, would be great if you could quote the text or page reference in the manual which says so. By the way, I love off roading on this machine! It surely heats up the engine a lot more than usual but then its fun!Originally posted by Sushrut View PostOff roading on R15 brother?I think its not recommended! The manual clearly states that!

I have been facing the coolant leakage and thus overheating problem for a long time. It is because of the faulty thermocouple. I had earlier written a mail to Yamaha and they also tried changing just the thermocouple. But the leak has just reduced, never stopped. Beacuse of this the engine has become a little harsh causing a dent in the performance. It struggles to pull beyond 9k rpm. Feels like there is no power in there. And obviously the FE has dropped to 34.5 from a very decent 40kmpl. I am posting this to let you all know that in case your bike faces this leak, it is better to rectify it in the beginning before it has run long, without the required amount of coolant without which the engine will be harmed badly! And the special character of this problem is that you will never find the leak when the bike is parked. The leak will happens more when the valve will be open(this will happen when the fan starts). I am thinking of escalating the issue again, to replace the engine completely.

@all Couple of additions to the bike (Cosmetic only) Pics attached in post.
1)Changed the rear and front number plate. Its legal to use such plates also the dimensions of numbers and alphabets is within legal limits.
2)Removed the rear mudguard because rains are over i guess, Not coming across wet patches.
3)Got my blood group sticker on the rear panel of the bike, have got it in front too but haven't clicked a pic yet.
4)The front number plate was off so got a sticker there too, also lots of vibrations have been reduced.
Tip- If you plan to remove the front number plate there are two rubber strips underneath the mirror bolts, make sure you remove it from the joint and then
fix it with the mirrors. Lots of vibrations have been reduced, make sure you align it properly or else it can come loose pretty easily.
Total Cost - Rs 225
1) 3 Blood group stickers - Rs 50
2) Rear Number plate with white glowing radium - Rs125
3) Front sticker number plate with white glowing radium - Rs50sigpic

Raneet Bro nice setup of 3000k HIDs...but you live in a city bro..and these HIDs are specially for FOGs..i know that they supply more lumens than the 4300k(3200lm) so they are more brighter....but i think a natural white road is better than a yellowish pale road in cities without fog...and i visited your FB profile and came to know that you used both of these hids 3000k & 4300k(are they chiness made?)...but your pic for 4300k seems that it was not 4300k hid as its light is bluish and seems a 8000k hid(attached your r15 4300k HIDs pic)(also attached a pic of R15 with 3000k hid which are very bright)...i think the shopkeeper lied to you that it is a 4300k hid...anybody can tell that(bro no offense to you)...so bro please shed some light on this...and yeah i would love to have that folk reflector.
The best lighting setup i have ever seen is of P220(atttached 4 pics)...thats why i was thinking to buy it...but soon i got my senses back and got R15 2.0 LE...also i have got a pic of P180 with a projector and round reflector of A XBHP member (like in P220) fitted in a single headlight(if any body has any info pls do reply)...loved it...it should be having a good spread because of the projector and focused beam due to round reflector(like P220 high beam)...
btw i am thinking to go for hid setup with a 4300k in left and 6000k or 8000k on right to use as a flasher to those jerks who use high beam in single roads or if i can get a projector in left with 4300k hid and a round reflector to focus on the eyes of those jerks with 8000k hid(so that they can lower there beam after there photo get clicked...lolzz...) ...there will be nothing to beat that...WHAT DO YOU SAY GUYS???!!!

Did u mean 'tachometer' ? like this oneOriginally posted by View PostHi Friends,

and what 'cowl' are you talking about.
my personal view is that i would not like a very bright tachometer as it kinda distracts me during night ride. but a white, lesser lit would look good.'On the Road that never ends...'

There is nothing like 3000k will give you better visibility in fog and not in normal conditions. 3000k always provides better visibility no matter what the weather condition is. A yellow torch will always show you things with more clarity compared to white. I enjoy this color to the max and never have I felt that it is not as bright as 4300k. In fact, because of the distinctive color, the throw is way more and things are much better visible with my current setup.Originally posted by ESCAPEXPERT View PostRaneet Bro nice setup of 3000k HIDs...but you live in a city bro..and these HIDs are specially for FOGs..i know that they supply more lumens than the 4300k(3200lm) so they are more brighter....but i think a natural white road is better than a yellowish pale road in cities without fog...and i visited your FB profile and came to know that you used both of these hids 3000k & 4300k(are they chiness made?)...but your pic for 4300k seems that it was not 4300k hid as its light is bluish and seems a 8000k hid(attached your r15 4300k HIDs pic)(also attached a pic of R15 with 3000k hid which are very bright)...i think the shopkeeper lied to you that it is a 4300k hid...anybody can tell that(bro no offense to you)...so bro please shed some light on this...and yeah i would love to have that folk reflector.
The 4300k that you saw are real 4300k and not fake. It has the pure white color. The color you get from household tube light. There might be issues with the picture that I took which made you think other ways. 6000k is way more blue than the one I have and 8000k?? Forget it man it's like whitish blue.
No comments regarding the shop keeper because he would rather not sell me things rather than giving me wrong stuff because one a kit was faulty and he had it.
So he never risks selling junk to me at least. Lol. But yes I agree the 4300k I have is not pure 4300k, as pure 4300k has a color like regular bulbs. Mine can be considered around 5000k.
Have tested the 3000k kit in the city and highways and I am very very happy and satisfied.
P.S.: All that I mentioned above is from my personal experience.
Attachments not visible. And using HID as a flasher? Bro, with HID you cannot flash when it is turned off. It is hardly visible.Originally posted by ESCAPEXPERT View PostThe best lighting setup i have ever seen is of P220(atttached 4 pics)...thats why i was thinking to buy it...but soon i got my senses back and got R15 2.0 LE...also i have got a pic of P180 with a projector and round reflector of A XBHP member (like in P220) fitted in a single headlight(if any body has any info pls do reply)...loved it...it should be having a good spread because of the projector and focused beam due to round reflector(like P220 high beam)...

The road is hardly lit for 100 meters even in complete darkness, i think a stock p220 lights lits up more distance than this. Might be will have to see in real to judge if its good or not, but as far the pics say i expected a lot more throw from two hid'sFun Starts at Redline!!!

1) Yes it is the pics.. Lumia 710..
Now you can imagine the night shots..
Terrible..
Disastrous..
It's way way different in reality. But yes, it's good enough to cruise at 80-100 on highways at pitch dark.
2) Please do not compare with stock P220 lights. They are still the best in Indian bikes. Not even CBR250R has such an amazing light setup. The low beam projector does the perfect job of spreading the entire beam with zero loss in light and it's really wide. And the upper beam, well it shoots directly ahead until it has an obstruction. R15 lights even with the best of HID setup can never ever come even close to P220 lights. Saying because I own both the machines and I am absolutely certain every person who owns or has ever owned a P220 will agree with me. Over that my P220 is equipped with HIDs..
So you know.
Will just have to wait until I bang on to some perfect projectors for my R15 and then can I compare.

Hey guys, I have completed 80km on ODO today. And would complete around 150 till Sunday. All under 5k RPM. have observed my bike hits 74-75km/hr in 6th gear @ 4.9k RMP.
Anyways. My question was
1) Should i change the engine oil at 150 KM mark ? If yes, then what should i be using and where can i get it in Delhi ( west Delhi ). Would i be able to do it on my own ? Would i have the tools in toolkit or should i go visit SVC ?
2) Should i also be changing my oil filter now , or @ 500 mark
