U should modify reflector or change it with small round reflector like p220.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Just set the idle to recomended and the o2 sensor will take care of the mixture.!Originally posted by alwaysusing View PostHi guys again.
Recently upgraded my exhaust to a yoshimura full system.
Just to check,
Currently have k&n open pod and now with a full system, what kind of fuel will I be looking at ? Rich or lean :/

Not exactly correct. The O2 sensor is to check for sotichness of the air/fuel mixture. First of all this is not true close loop fuelling system. The O2 sensor is a narrow band sensor on this bike. It will only check if the air/fuel mixture is at or about 14.7:1, if it is not then the ECU will pickup the next value in the fuel table to try and bring it to 14.7. At high rpm and WOT (Wide Open Throttle) it becomes a open loop system and the O2 sensor does not play a role in the same. A true fully enclose loop fuelling system will require a broad band sensor and will control the fuelling across the entire power band. Therefore, while it has some margin to correct for low and mid range for limited fuelling change, it does not offer any scope for correcting fuelling to get maximum power. To get the maximum power out of a setup it is normally recommended that air/fuel ratio of 12.5 to 13:1 be maintained across the power band. However, the trade off is less fuel efficiency and more exhaust emission.Originally posted by PallavZ View PostJust set the idle to recomended and the o2 sensor will take care of the mixture.!
Now to answer to the query by @alwaysusing; When you use a full exhaust system, as a general rule, the fuelling across the range will need to be adjusted. The fuelling will need to made richer to compensate for increased flow of the gases. Unfortunately, there is no way to rewrite the stock ECU. You will need a aftermarket ECU to address this issue.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

I'm using powertronic ecu. Still figuring which map to choose from as I have no idea what's the difference between the 5 maps....

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I can see that you are from Singapore. My advice is that find yourself a good dynometer (preferably Dynojet make) and do couple of dyno runs with your bike to setup the fuel maps for your bike. This way you will get the best out of your set up. There is no substitute for dyno runs if you want the best out of your setup and want to avoid the pitfalls of trying to guess what the AFR is. Believe me, you will end up frustrated with the whole thing if you try to go down 'guess the AFR' road.Originally posted by alwaysusing View PostI have so much to learn from you guys!

In Singapore the cost to dynojet a small cc bike costs alot.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View PostI can see that you are from Singapore. Trying to skip this step and try my luck with the preloaded maps in my powertronic ecu

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hi, I'm thinking of getting R15 V2 as a 2nd bike. I was thinking may be I should go for a slightly used bike, under 1lac INR... or should I go ahead n purchase a brand new one ? which is 1.35lacs on road. Is it worth it or is it too late to enjoy the baby R ? Currently owning a loyal 200NS since past 2.5 years, I know R15's power n pull will feel slightly underwhelming to me.. but it's alright.. Gotta love the committed riding stance and super sport build.
RC200 is not an option, out of budget infact.

A second hand R15 will suite you well as your secondary bike.Spending 1.35lac for a bike you may not use often is not worth it.If you do consider to buy a second hand bike make sure the bike was properly serviced, you do not want to take the burden of getting spares.Spare parts from Yamaha is much more pricier than what Bajaj has to offer.Originally posted by broken87 View PostHi, I'm thinking of getting R15 V2 as a 2nd bike. The Sportier stance on the R15 is truly something that can't be explained through words but it also has its own limitations riding in city traffic is definitely going to take a toll on your lower back and mostly your wrist.

Guys,I had topped up my front brake reservoir 2 days back. Now the brake lever seems to have lost its feel whenever i pull in the brakes. The movement of the brake lever seems to get tighter as the brake lever pushes into the master cylinder.I had already kept the brake lever pulled in over night but still all in vain, the braking power seems to have also reduced.
Help me out guys

I may be wrong but there may be air bubbles in the brake lines.Originally posted by Abhi599 View PostA second hand R15 will suite you well as your secondary bike.Spending 1.35lac for a bike you may not use often is not worth it.If you do consider to buy a second hand bike make sure the bike was properly serviced, you do not want to take the burden of getting spares.Spare parts from Yamaha is much more pricier than what Bajaj has to offer.

Not sure how to bleed the lines or release the bubbles.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Sadly ,today is the day R15 IS LEAVING me forever. ..
though I rode it only for like 4000kms or so ,but it was a really good bike .It handled best in class ,smooth as butter and boy what a poser it was ..
But it wasn't swift enough for me ,and no blame you cannot expect much from 150cc. Still it was fun .
Now it has been decided against my will that having a parked bike with 1000₹ litre motul 300v eating dust is of no use. So my cousin is claiming it forever ..I wish I hadn't given the r to him for few days ,little I knew it will never come back.
Its not that I ride it much now ,but still letting go off a bike is as painful as it can be.
Only my beloved ns and RC are now there to assist my ass. Out of which ,rc also stands a lot nowadays ,with my family having a eye on it to do similar fate to rc just as they did to r15.
Will miss you r15 ,you're going into safe hands, we will meet ,but from now on ,it will be monthly ,quater yearly meet.
The Baby R has left me forever
