Recently changed my pipe to a full system yoshimura.
Had it fixed at a local workshop and I find that they did not really do a good job.

In the instruction manual, it says that a new exhaust gasket should be used. The shop didn't comply and I ended up getting a paper flapping sound when the bike is moving.

put aside 3 hours due to my inexperience and took things in my own hands.

This is how it looks with the pipe.

Remove side and bottom fairing to access the engine area.

That's where the exhaust gasket is located.

Gotta use something flat to pry it out. I used a Philips screw driver.

    Used gasket.

Brand new yamaha original exhaust gasket ($3 SGD)

Dismantled pipe, inserted midpipe db killer as my girlfriend complains about the sound each time she gets on the bike 😂😂.

Completed in 2 hours. Could be faster but the exhaust was hard to take apart. Probably due to the metal expanding. I used chain lube to lubricate the joints and separate the parts.
How much did the full system cost you? Did you get an ecu remap?

Full system cost me about 600 sgd. It's not legal in my country for certain ridiculous reasons, sound db exceeds a certain limit, smoke Emmission.
      Hence the price.

I'm using John's powertronic ecu currently on map 4.

Still looking for cheaper alternatives to remap my ecu,
I'm very new when it comes to all this haha.

Sadly no. Probably due to the possible change in AF ratio.
It feels a little airy whenever I accelerate.

I have to rotate between the maps at times.

Haha for the powertronic ecu I got to switch off the bike and select it before starting the engine.
Yeah I hope I find another way to program my ecu accordingly instead of paying hundreds to dyno it 😨

For those who do not follow motogp, this is the new scheme in Tech 3 colors( satellite team backed by Yamaha) in Indonesia. They currently have Britain's Bradley Smith and Spain's 2013 moto3 champion Pol Espargaro as their riders.

I was actually looking towards the same but while researching regarding that, I came to know that it is again a "High Flow" filter :| compared to stock. On the bottom of the stock air filter, you will be able to see a steel mesh but on the K&N, it is just open. As far as your bike's life is concerned, there is nothing that you can do but stick to stock. I'm fed up with seeing K&N selling even "High Flow" oil filters for the R15 claiming high performance  and reviews on their site itself stating "Increase in pickup and extra mileage" :/. If you are looking for upgrades that won't harm your bike, I guess all you can do is get better tyres, steel braided brake lines and better h4 headlights like the Osram Night breaker unlimited or Philips extreme vision. Please don't just mess with the engine components.

Hmm, I'm not looking for performance upgrades and I know it's a myth that filters increase hp on our capacity bikes. A friend of mine had told me that after installing k&n the acceleration was crisp. Just wanted to know whether it was true or was it just the sound playing with his mind. What about ngk iridium spark plugs are they better than the stock ones?

Oh I forgot to mention about that. I don't know about the Iridium spark plugs but the Stock NGK does its job pretty well. I then went on to have a look at those "Spitfire Cables" which is said to be made up of a superconductor and has a resistance of 50 ohms (i don't know anything technical and the advantage/disadvantage about it). Well, Yamaha knows more than anyone regarding the bike and well, I don't think it is necessary to get the Spirtfire cable for the stock plug but maybe if you switch to iridium, laser iridium , laser platinum :P and what not. I'm not joking, those are the models listed on NGK's site. Finally, I haven't used any one of these which I have mentioned above right from Air filters till the Spark Plugs. My bike is just totally stock except for a changed horn and after 20k Kms and an year of ownership, I can definitely assure you to just keep the bike as stock as possible and it will last really long.

Haha thanks for the advice, I'm looking to upgrade my headlights, I'm planning to buy osram night breaker unlimited h4 60/55. The stock bulb is 35 watts. Wouldn't install osram cause battery drain issues?
