Hello everybody, I do feel that the rear part of my baby is slightly misaligned! How can it be rectified?
And my engine also getting over heated if it is driven in traffic and the heat is coming through the right side fairing! What's the problem here?
    Thanks in advance. [emoji4]

      Thanks
Brother, If you are talking the zeros to the left side of the odometer reading. They are not zeros its "ODO" short form for odometer. it is digital so it looks like 3 zeros. The same ODO changes to F- when the bike goes in reserve fuel, . If you click the button once the same ODO with change to TRIP 1, click again to get TRIP 2 and then again to get ODO again.

      Hope this solves the confusion.

I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

You can see the measuring plate at the swing-arm through which you tighten the chain you can have a look at that whether both the sided reflect the same reading if not get it rectified at the svc

In traffic when the engine crosses a specific temperature the fan kicks in and heat is thrown towards the rear, in your case right side fairing.
No replacement for an engine Displacement

Yeah will check the rear part!
And in my case, the heat is little too high.
Is it not a problem? And my bike is just 200 kms old and is it normal for the first 1000 kms?

Yes, it is completely normal as the bike is in run-in period/kms, you will feel the difference after 1st service itself.

New engine parts have friction so they get hot and which is why company ask to drive slowly during run-in time.

Oh! Actually I have crossed the 5k rpm to 6k rpm two or three times! It was completely due to an emergency! Tried not to cross 5k rpm, but can't! Will this affect my engine?
Other than that time I normally shift around 4.5k - 5k rpm..!!
I saw some people here maintaining 4k rpm in their first 500 kms and getting great mileage..!! But I do feel that shifting at 3.5 - 4k rpm is not correct as this bike has very low end torque!
Please throw some light about shifting gears for the first 1000kms.

You are doing it right. I was in the same boat four years ago, but then I found its a R DNA bike from Yamaha and is perfectly robust. YOu can absolutely trash the engine and still it shows its a gem of a machine.

I don't have any concrete proofs but the company has set these restrictions for the 1st 1000 kms after some R & D, so i guess its best to follow professionals.

I used to shift before 5k, sometimes its ok to cross the 6k line and for further clarity and questions you can read the user manual.

What about r15 performance in ghats with pillion? Does it feel sluggish or underpowered?

So how about the mileage here? I want it to return me a decent mileage around 40 - 45kmpl. No need to comment about the performance! Coz everybody knows it's a lion in performance!
Please give me some tips to get a decent mileage. Thank you! [emoji4]

It does not feel under powered anywhere if you are riding solo .. But with a pillion yes it seems under powered especially on uphill ..
However, it depends on what RPM range you are riding .
For e.g I ride above 7-8k RPM till 10.5k RPM in ghats and maintaining a good speed in ghats is possible with our R15 , because of its dedicated riding position .
I recently did a Delhi -Rishikesh- Neelkanth-Delhi trip with a pillion. I was able to pull it some time above 70kmph in normal uphill climb.
Ya but when you see a steep incline you need to lower down the gears.
Again, it highly depends on what RPM range you are riding .

                          I am getting around 45-48kmpl .
My ride mostly includes highway and ring road .
One mantra for good mileage is don't rush in each gear to reach a speed before you change gear .. Take it smoothly and slowly .. All that matters is how fast you get there ..
I change the first gear at 20-25
                          2nd 30-35 kmph
                          3rd 40-45 kmph
                          Thereafter between 5-6k RPM
6th gear above 75kmph but if you are touring and slowing down in 6th no need to change gears, 6th is tall gear and can work above 45kmph ..
Other members please post your riding style for better mileage ..

Well! I've been shifting around 4.5 - 5k rpm in every gear! Still haven't checked the mileage as my speedo has been disconnected waiting for the registration. Will let you know about the mileage once when the registration is over.
Will try shifting at your style. And also I normally feel that shifting around 4.5 - 5k rpm is too speedy for a new engine. Is it the nature of every R15?

Yes for a new engine please don't cross the 5k rpm mark .. Mine is now 9500km ☺
Follow the manual for shifting gears ..
Yes, for me initially i was shifting 4-4.5k rpm .later on switched to 5k and now even till 6k rpm it doesnot looks too fast for me 😀 . May be its human tendency more than a machine .
Yes but the engine surely will open up for higher RPMs to give more smooth experience.
