Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The new r15/Fz has a closed loop system and may be a more efficient lean burn engine than the older gen V1 and V2s. that's the reason for the complete clean exhaust(another side effect being the good mileage) , same can also be seen in cbr150r the exhaust is clean . All engines consume oil so 100-150 ml for 3000 km is an awesome oil consupmtion rate. The engine is not bad or anything. That's normal for an air cooled engine in Indian conditions as you stated in your previous post. Even that rate of oil consumption is acceptable in a liquid cooled engine if your engine is getting old and clearances are increasing due to regular wear and tear. When i last checked my R15 consumes around 40-50 ml every 1500-1800 kms its fine AFAIK for a near 5 yrs old bike that has run extensively.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post

One more thing I have noticed is that my Fazer's air filter box has a lot of oil near the crank breather hole. I clean the filter box and the oil collector every time I service my bike.Originally posted by black asp View PostThe new r15/Fz has a closed loop system and may be a more efficient lean burn engine than the older gen V1 and V2s. that's the reason for the complete clean exhaust(another side effect being the good mileage) , same can also be seen in cbr150r the exhaust is clean . Probably that explains a little bit about the lost oil. But the carbon thing is something I did not like in my fuel injected bike

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Upgraded the stock brake line with that of P220. Its a steel braided line.
Braking is very effortless now, you dont have to squeeze hard to get the front brake to bite. It also makes the Brake modulation precise and easy.
The only thing that makes you go fast is your brakes.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hello bro's.. Am one of the silent readers of this thread and a great fan of R15 V2 too! Obviously this is my first post too.! Some flashback before the query! 😜
The love for this angel has started a year back when I rode my friend's 2014 Racing Blue R15! The second I twisted the throttle... I really fell in love with the performance and handling capabilities of the bike! ❤️ Had never known that R15 is such a beautiful and a blissful machine to ride! It was the day I decided to get an R15 for myself too..!! Till then I was never interested in buying a bike specially for me, as my bro has an Rx-135 5speed 2000 and a 2000 pulsar 180 (the one with the round headlight).
After then rinsed the whole internet searching for the total information of the bike right from A-Z. 😝 (coz I was damn crazy about this bike)
So started to ask my parents for a bike and they said you can get it once when you complete first year in colg!! I was like "whhhaaaattt???" And then somehow convinced myself and started to wait! And I've already decided to go for the Streaking Cyan colour as it is eyecatching colour and the best in R15's..!! And now when I came to know that this colour will be stopped in the month of February 2016, I asked my parents and they said let's book the vehicle for now and we can take the delivery in April as the finance was so tight!
And the next day I ran to the showroom and asked them whether I can take delivery of the same colour after 2 months by booking now? They said "Yeah okay. Nothing problem, you can book the bike now. But pay ₹5000 as booking amount so that we can hold the last bike just for you as the colour is going to be stopped."
And I just booked the same colour on February 18, 2016 in Orpi Yamaha, Coimbatore. The oldest and quite big showroom in Coimbatore. And then the manager made a booking for me and said that you can take delivery exactly after 60 days, i.e 2 months!
I was so happy that somehow we'll get the colour we fell in love with and it's certain.
But to my bad luck in the month of April I went to the showroom straight from college to ask whether my bike has arrived?
It was that day I saw their true colour and learnt a lession!
That fu**** manager came to me and very lethargically he said that "That colour has been stopped. Then how can we get the bike? So, keep calm and go for the new colours." That moment my eyes went totally red and heart started beating fast!
Shouted at him with a lot of anger and left the place! Was worried very bad that we'd been cheated by him! Cried almost for 1 week!
Then cancelled the booking there and went to another showroom here which is quite reputated one.
There also asked for the same colour and they said "No, it has been stopped!" Felt too bad and after a minute that sales lady called someone in the phone and talked something and then came back to me and said "We can get you that colour. But you've to pay ₹1,45,000 (On road price here is ₹1,37,000 approx) as it is a "PREMIUM VEHICLE".
I questioned them about the word "PREMIUM VEHICLE". They said it's like we'll place the order in the company specially for you and we'll get the colour somehow. The only thing is you've to pay the full amount and only after then we'll place the order." I asked them that whether you people gonna involve in changing the kit for my bike..!! They said no..!!
And I had some influence of one person and with the help of him, now the showroom asked me to pay ₹1,40,000. Felt a little convinced and said "As of now I'll pay the booking amount ₹5,000 and will pay the full amount once when I get it! They agreed and booked me a vehicle! But haven't placed the order yet!
So the real query starts here! (Sorry for the very looonnnnggggg flashback)
1. As they said something like "Premium Vehicle".. How far it is true?
2. Is there anything really like that or simply they'll change the total body kit in a new vehicle?
3. Is it good to proceed with this deal or shall I go for the new colours? (Though I don't like the new colours even a little! Revving Blue seems okay! )
Please help me friends!
Confused very badly! 😔
Again sorry for such a long post!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
My bike cannot hold the ideal idle rpm of 1300+.
No matter how much I increase the idling, after 1 or 2 minutes the rpm falls below 1200. It wont die but hovers around 1200 rpm.
Why I want 1300+ rpm? Because response from 1300 is a lot better than under 1200 also its the recommend idling speed.
I started noticing the problem after I gave the bike for a tappet adjustment at svc.
One more thing is, before the tappet adjustment, in a cold morning the rpm used to shoot close to 2000 and come down to 1300 and hold there nice and easy. Now it wont go above 1500 rpm in the morning and once properly warmed up, it falls brlow 1200.
Anybody got any clue?
Yes, im running on new air filters n everything.
Guys need help as even the svc people are helpless identifying the problem.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The solution to your problem lies in your post itself. You need to check the valve clearance on your bike, the rpm is not increasing due to less clearance between the tappet and the valve stem.Get the valve clearance done with the help of feeler gauge according to the manufacturer given specifications EX-0.2, IN-0.1(Cold engine)Originally posted by christo View PostMy bike cannot hold the ideal idle rpm of 1300+.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey guys a new road opened in my area with nice tight turn ive been hitting the turn regularly increasing my speed and building confidence on that particular corner.Today morning I entered the corner at around 120. When I leaned in there was no problem but as I put on power just before the apex the bike started getting head shakes not very rough but enough to frighten anyone.should I get my tyres or shocks checked or is it natural.?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
you dont put power when entering the turn.. you gotta put all the power exiting out of it. and if its shaking/ wobble then check the tyre pressure first.Originally posted by PallavZ View PostHey guys a new road opened in my area with nice tight turn ive been hitting the turn regularly increasing my speed and building confidence on that particular corner.Today morning I entered the corner at around 120. no its not natural but there can be multiple reason.
on an open road go in straight line and st speeds of 70-80 leave both hands and see if the bike is drifting to a side else wobbling.( please make sure in a closed safe environments only)
if it goes one side. get the tyre/fork alignement checked - worse case fork else triple clamp.
if it goes straight but wobble. start with tyres followed by rim then bearings - swing arm bushes also chain set."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

If I ride in a straight line and let go of my hands the bike falls to the right its something that has benn happening since I brought my bike I always thought that it's my silting positions that caused the bike to do so. Now thanks to you will go to SVC and sort it. Thanks.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postyou dont put power when entering the turn.. you gotta put all the power exiting out of it. and if its shaking/ wobble then check the tyre pressure first.

i don't put power down while entering the corner I always put it at the apex or sometimes just before the apex(slow in fast out approach)

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
if its banking right.. there is indeed a problem in fork alignment else tyre setup...Originally posted by PallavZ View PostIf I ride in a straight line and let go of my hands the bike falls to the right its something that has benn happening since I brought my bike I always thought that it's my silting positions that caused the bike to do so. please get multiple points checked.
tyre balacing.
rim for bent/heavy spots.
chainset ( rear sprocket specifically for any play)
bearings.
fork alignment with the triple clamp.
tyre condition (see if you are wearing tyre out from one side compared to other)
swing arm condition. and tyres to be in straight line . you can check this by asking you friend to ride you bike and follow him behind from a distance of say 30-40 feet and watch it carefully if both the tyres ar ein straight line rather than working left and right."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

christo Yeah that's what I was thinking about! Maybe they'll be changing the body kit as you said!
But my query is will the bike be healthy after changing the body kit? Is there any problem in doing that like loose nuts, vibrations, etc.?
And moreover the body kit costs around ₹20,000 as mentioned by the staff in service center!
Thanks for helping me out! 👍🏻☺️
And sorry for replying late as I was little busy for the past 2 days! 😌Last edited by Santhu Shyam; 05-03-2016, 09:44 PM.
