Its not recommended to replace the rear brake pads of R15 yourself because if could get very difficult putting things back on, having said that , front brake pads are very easy to replace. Please use google or youtube for more information.
    Thanks for replying brother,

I will post some pics as soon as possible.
I don't keep any pressure on the brake pedal, I have been riding for close to 9 years, so I don't think that would be the cause.
The reason I would like an expert opinion from you guys is that, I never had a bike with disc brakes before, It is my first experience with disc brakes, so I don't really know how long do brake pads actually last. A few guys on xbhp told me that 9500Kms is a good life for a brake pad and it was good to have it replaced, which again brings the confusion.

    One final query please,
if indeed they need replacement it would be a good idea to get them replaced by service center guys, but in front of my eyes. Right??

I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Actually you can pretty much see the difference between new pad and old pad with ur naked eyes itself. But if you have the patience to wait and see the service they do, then that would be better.

      Full procedure & article : http://www.iamabiker.com/2011/05/diy-brake-pad-cleaningreplacement/Procedure :a) Place the bike on a level flat ground.b) Remove ...

See a video from iamabiker on how to replace pads by yourself.

And see the pic attached by @aargee in the CBR250R thread which clearly explains the pad wear. Hope you understood.

          Remove disc pads
          Remove caliper
          Push the rubber boot back
Apply silicone grease to caliper pins

          Re-assemble.

          Time required : 15mins max

            Hi Guys,

Has anyone else faced any problems because of upgrading to a higher capacity battery? I'm using an aftermarket LED headlight (50w) for my low beam (LHS) and stock for my high beam (RHS). But recently I got my started relay faulty and had it replaced. Could the battery be causing this issue?

            Thanks!

Hello all you awesome people, and thanks for letting me join your forum!
I bought a second hand R15 (2014 with 8000km on the odo) in Indonesia last november as my gf lives over there.
However I'm a pretty big guy (188cm / 120kgs) and used to more power, so I need some tips about good quality upgrades for it. I really love how nimble it feels in tight traffic but with both me and my gf on it, acceleration is a pain...

So far I've been thinking about getting a Daytona exhaust system, and maybe their android ECU too. Hoping to give me close to 20bhp total. Is there any other upgrades you can recommend?

I've started reading the entire thread, but it will take some time. Just passed page 100....

Upgrade to a r3, I find the r15 v 2 incredibly uncomfortable, I'm about 6ft 2 and weigh 90kgs, powering up the engine may mess it up on the long run, but its ur call.

The r15 main power lies after 6000 rpm.before that it has a very low pickup.even if you put some aftermarket exhaust and tune the ecu it wouldn't bring you much power.I would say stick to stock and enjoy the handling and cornering of the bike.this bike has exceptional handling and this bike is not about the power.its all about cornering.

I completely agree with you. And back home I ride a 600cc to have "enough power". However I really love my little R15 in the Jakarta traffic, I just want a little more power without having to pay major $$$ for a complete engine rebuild with bigbore kit, other cylinder head, turbo+++

Buying a bigger/more expensive bike is also out of the question simply due to economy. I'm in Indonesia maybe for 1 or 2 months pr year and my gf is unable to use my bike due to some (genetic?) inability to ride a bike with manual gearbox.

Yes but I heard of a performance kit for r15 but illegal on streets.you can but that's a 150cc bike.I don't think the low end can be improved much.just keep the rpm above 5k as that would help.

I suggest you contact a guy named Vhanz or VJRS (VJ Racing Speed) I think he's in Jakarta. You'll need at least a big valve head/Camshaft/Exhaust and ECU to get the level of power you require. There's not many people on the forum who have performance mods on R15's due to high failure rates of the big bores that were sold here, coupled with the Race Dynamics ECU having some bugs. You'll get better ECU's other there along with a proper tune, judging by his facebook posts.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Thanks a lot for the tips. I'll try to contact him. However I fear it will be way out of my price range. I've seen engine head kits that costs more than I paid for my entire bike.

i guess your reluctant to spend more money on bike as your staying there not for long term and it makes sense. instead spending more on performance modes which are costly , why can't get a used powerful bike say around 28bhp power range which might satisfy the needs of you.
