You took the reverse route of me i moved from R15 to pulsar 220 and you from pulsar to R15.
BTW don't know about FS oils in new engines because never used FS oils for more than 1000 kms.Used once had serious low level issues in my R15 so bid good bye to FS oils from that point on.But there are guys running without issues and presently R15s come loaded with FS oils from the factory so you can use it but keep an eye on low level issues.

    P.S. i use motul 3100 20w50 or ax7 10w40 since past 80+k kms

I am really getting bored by the exhaust note of the R15. Will drilling holes in the exhaust be wise because my financial condition is not so good to afford a free flow exhaust. If anyone has drilled holes in the exhaust pls share your experience.

Drilling holes on the exhaust is the most ridiculous thing you can do to your vehicle. I would suggest you to save up and get a Daytona exhaust.

          Thanks bro ...
Once I rode my brother's R15 v2.0 in Ranchi on newly constructed ghat near Patratu Dam.. And I loved this machine's ability of cornering and smoothness .. My brother who just rode this bike for 2000kms in 2 years was doing fantastic cornering with her, at speeds upwards of 60kmph and that too when he was riding for the first time in ghats.
Though, I still Own Pulsar220 and I love it .. Its character is just so different from R15 ..
But As per my experience both are different machine from different categories and both are awesome ... [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2] [emoji2]

Hey guys today I saw the new R15 v2 with new color at showroom .. Yamaha R15 v2 has finally a matt finish this time .. Felt the rear seat is having bit more cushioning.
Matt colour was looking awesome but the new stickering doesn't look nice to eyes .. No comments for Revving blue .. This is awesome racing color of yamaha ...

I'll try to visit he showroom tomorrow and will post the pics..
The funny part is I was searching for New R15 V2 last week in Delhi , Jinder Yamaha dealer said they will have the stock in the end of March ..
Prince Yamaha Dealer said Comoany has discontinued V2.0, I tried to update the dealer that Yamaha Updated New color scheme on 19th Feb . and you are saying this bullshit .. He said sir it will still take 3-4 months for this to come to dealership .. Even where I saw this bike today I went there last month and they said the same thing company stopped manufacturing V2.0 (it was Delhi Scooters )

Indeed I am shocked as well. I am one among those who think new performance engines need FS oil.
Yamaha always recommended SS oil for R15 and now they recommend FS oil.

I on the other hand feel that mineral is essential for the running in till the first 5k at least, helps the engine break in completely. The service manual recommends 20W40 and does not specify synthetic. Also, the engine is no,longer the most cutting edge of the lot and some of the other new kids on the block have higher compression ratios, so unless you are taking her to the tracks all the time and revving the nuts off, mineral is fine.

I am a proud new owner of the R15 S and relishing every minute on the saddle

Guys, I saw svc mechanic now using main stand on R15 instead of paddock ..
And its quit simple to do it at home .. Buy any bike main stand and a metal rod which can through the stand holes and there are holes below the bike where main stand is placed on other bikes.
Forget me if this is already answered in the thread ...
                            One more query ..
I checked fuel efficiency of my bike and found it to be 42.5 kmpl
                            How I checked :
                            1. Bike already gone 22 in F . Poured petrol till the brim almost 10ltr.
                            2. Reset the F meter and trip 1 meter ..
                            3. Rode for another 340kms and filled petrol to the same level . 8.5 this time .
                            4. Total kms travelled = 340+22 km = 362kms
                            5. Mileage = 362/8.5 = 42.5kmpl
I am noob on FI bike ..please suggest if this is correct ..

                            One more query :
Lighting : I got good response here for using Osram Night Racer but they cost 800rs and pair will cost me ₹1600 which is too costly and it is slightly whitish .
So planning to upgrade to Osram silverstar HS1 ₹145 pair will cost me ₹290. Please suggest if this a upgrade in terms of lighting from stock ?

                              Hi,

Attaching a pic of the manual with the oil specs, 20W40 is what is recommended and am assuming that its mineral. When I asked the ASC (Bangalore wheels) about semi synth I was told that Yamalube no longer has semi synth and one has to choose between mineral and fully synth, not sure to what extent that is true.

If its available then I would want to put semi synth in my next (3rd) service

I was not talking about this manual. Anyway its ones choice. The SS one is replace by FS one now by Yamaha. SS costed Rs.505 whereas FS costs Rs.450. I have no idea how Yamalube has kept the costs in check.
