Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The chain tension is as recommended by Yamaha.. Tried leaning the bike and letting the tire spin it makes the noise what do I do.?.Thanks for the help though.!Originally posted by chiragsthakur View PostFirstly, its 1000kms so my opinion that its time for chain cleaning n lubing.
As far as the sound goes, just lean your bike on your lap with side stand on. It will allow the rear wheel to spin freely, and just observe whether the sound is still coming when the rear wheel is spinning but not touching the ground. Also same time check the rear wheel wobble. If present then its a wheel out issue, which I dont think is the issue with your bike.
To check chain slack, just try pressing the chain (refer image) with a finger. Apply pressure and release. If the chain has vertical movement then you need to adjust the chain slack. The provision is provided to set it right.
My second (sprocket) guess doesnt count as your bike has done relatively less kms on odo.

Does the tyre wobble?
I think a thorough chain clean and lubing should stop the noise.Yamaha RX135 (1998) - Stolen

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey!
I am planning a Leh-Ladakh trip in the summer of 2016 on my R15.
- The stock bulbs are absolutely useless, I'm planning to change the low beam bulb to the Osram Nightbreaker (60w) and keep the high beam bulb stock (and use it only for flashing/dipper purposes). Will it be okay? I'm worried about strain on the battery
- The longest stretch without fuel is approx 370 kms, so I will have to carry fuel, any ideas on that?
-There is a metal brushing kind of noise sometimes whenever I accelerate (even with the clutch pulled in). What could it be? It doesn't happen always, thats why I haven't yet taken it to the SVC
-Will I need to change my tyres? I've gone 8k kms on them, will be around 12k by the time I leave for Ladakh
-Any other tips or tricks for the Ladakh trip will be greatly appreciatedMy Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/abohtan?ref=tn_tnmn

Will it be okay? I'm worried about strain on the battery - R15s headlights consume total 70w (35+35). If you use 60w bulb and keep stock high beam bulb then the total consumption would be 95w which is on higher side for the stock battery.

What do you think?
Yes please carry fuel. It can help you or incase someone else too. - Will do
Can you give some more details please? - Noise not at idle, only when i rev the engine ( both with clutch engaged, and depressed, including at neutral). It is a metallic noise, the rate of which does not increase or decrease upon changing rpm's of my bike, the noise just starts as soon as i twist the throttle, regardless of all other factors
Stock R15 tyres would not grip on muddy surfaces or even slush. - What should i do about it then? Should i just risk it and take it on the stock tyres, or should i buy new tyres for it. Any suggestions for the same?
You can refer a travelogue. Many threads for the same. Will give you better insight - I would be grateful if you could post the link to any thread in which an R15 has gone to LehMy Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/abohtan?ref=tn_tnmn

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Even I am getting this noise from my 400 km old R15S. Looks its common phenomenon from the clutch bell bush noise. The noise is minor and hope it doesnt get too intrusiveOriginally posted by Arjun Leopard Bohtan View Post

Please go through the thread . Have been discussed multiple times.Originally posted by Anunay View PostHello friends Any idea where i can get frame sliders, anyone who have installed. ?
All the frame slider does is damage the chassis in a fall protecting your cheap fairings. Its not worth it.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Think before why do you need frame sliders. For name sake or protection. By the way you can't put frame sliders on V2 without cutting fairing.
You still visit in this thread. Good to see you adding values.Originally posted by Ivin View PostPlease go through the thread . Have been discussed multiple times.
