          • Hi,
I'm one of the proud owner of both versions of R15, on performance par both are good only difference in V2 is low end and mid range power delivery. Handling part V2 needs to be ridden like SBK while the older one is easy to ride in city riding condition. In V2 cornering stability as well as straight line stability is simply superb I just lean into corners and bike happily sppeds as if it is on straight road.. but the real problem is while cornering the V2 one should follow good line there is no scope for correction, i mean if u want to carry more spped in the corners.

            • Waiting to saddle my baby r1, got for 1 lakh 26 thousand something. Also gone for extended warranty which costs me 777 extra. No perks from Yamaha for cash immediate buy, I guess R15 v2 really needs nothing to be sold. Will be with the bike through out the process to see what they will do before they hand over the bike. Specially got a chamois cloth for the first wash of the bike, wish could have got a good formula 1 shampoo as well. Really a baby.

If you have completed 1000km, you may even hit the limiter daily if you wish. This engine doesnt have liquid cooling,4 valves, diasil cylinder, forged pistons etc. for nothing.I understand your concern and excitement but dont worry.Race engines are built to handle high revs.

i think Karthik2501 should be calm untill 2000km. let it make sometime after 1st service.
once in a blue moon its ok with high Revs.till 2000km.
                      its my personal advice.

                        • One thing for fun,
a real fact that i didnt went above 45kmh untill 10,000km with my Hunk.
it is little bit funny but after 3 years and 35k km done, every mechenic and any rider says that its runs smoother than a brand new.
I sold it 2 days back for Rs-45k after 3 years.

In this age, engines are built to rev bro, dont be afraid to do it.But yes, you should not over do the revving that is.Riding at 45kmph,not revving above4000 revs I feel is like having a cone ice cream and eating just the cone.. About the 2000km thing, well the manual itself suggests us to ride ''normally'' after 1000km.Who are we to argue with the experts?!

I am happy that you got a good deal on your Hunk. If you do something similar with the R15, the pickup and top speed of your bike would be much lower than other properly run in and used engines.

If you want your engine to be in the best of condition (meaning able to deliver best performance, what is meant for), every statement in the run in procedure mentioned in our manual has to be followed religiously, including giving short speed bursts occasionally (still upholding the rule of 'no sudden acceleration'). Being too skeptical and conscious can sometimes do more harm to the engine than good.
