I found this awesome article on fuel pumps. Just read it through and understand the logic behind its working. They have also stated why and how these pumps fail. The information might be for high end bikes or cars but the working is same.

Ya, 140 is a direct fit, but i say stick with the stock or get 130 Pirelli SD.

              • Need a little help

Hi everyone.. I've been regularly following this forum since the past few months now and its already been very helpful so far.
First of all,, kudos to all the Baby R owners out there ..
and Respect to those who can touch their knee down on them ..
I found out all I could about the R15 when it first came to Hyderabad and basically fell in love with it.. and now the version 2.0 is like adding extra sweet icing to an already sexy cake . .

Now, coming to the point, I'm actually gonna buy the baby R in a week(after a really really long wait), but I'm kinda hung up on the colour part. This maybe an old question or the choice may depend entirely on me,but i would appreciate a little help from you seniors out there..
First, I really like the 50th anniversary LE but came to know that the paints coming off and also its hard to maintain and that there is a long wait for the spares.

So now, I'm kinda confused about the colour , I'm considering the sunset red and fiery red and even the blue, though its commonplace and carried forward from the V1. Personally, I just look forward to having the bike, but i just need some advices on the colour and the run-in.

Particularly, the oil change(when and which oil is the best) and also if the occasional burst in RPM during run-in is harmful. I'm comitted to having a coool run-in. A friend of mine said he was getting around 20 kmpl on his machine, which kinda sucks i feel.. What steps do I have to take during Run-in so that i get a decent mileage(I don't dream too much)..

hoping I get a quick reply..

                • ^Welcome to xbhp.

                  Juz too much to answer.

I like the blue after my LE.
The problem with the paint was a surprise. Everything with the spares and the maintainance was well understood prior to out purchase. We all, I'm sure I speak for everyone, bought the LE after falling in unconditional love with its beauty. Sums it up.

But should you opt for anything else, I suggest Blue.

My friend Anuj Rajpurohit and his Vela.

For run-in follow your manual. Everything else is a waste of money.

Confused: This against the Spartan Helios 2.0 which if dealers on j.c.road are to be believed is also launching in Ktm orange and Yamaha LE White.

                      @ABikerAtHeart

                      Thank you for your reply....
well, theres so much to know hence so many questions...
the reason for my queries about the ride is partly curiosity.
But, I for one, think that you need to know your ride properly and treat it well, so that the ride treats you well in return. Not you per se .

Could you tell me what problems(even though minor) you faced with your ride and anything other than paint? as yours is the LE,in particular, and your bike's mileage... it would be of great help...

                      @ALL

I'm looking forward to getting my hands on my bike and I'm just waiting for the cheque to buy it, which may come in a few days, good thing that the delivery is immediate ..
I'll do some extensive debating in my head and decide on the colour.. Any inputs anyone might give are welcome and may prove valuable.. so don't hesitate..

hey anyway, your friend's ride is sweeeeettttttt ..
Sometimes people tend to screw up the bike's beauty by trying to modify it ... but your pal's ride begs to differ and Anuj just nailed it.. cool gear too. The bike looks ready to race!

                        • Problems?? Dude its YAMAHA.*grin*

I'm yet to send a mail to Yamaha regarding the 'only' problem of the paint peel off.

Ofcourse one would want a tad powerfull engine for the price but its well compensated with a headache free ownership. R15 is a time and xbhpians tested machine. Its top-notch quality isnt hidden from anyone. Sure there have been issues of backfiring guages cropped up but those are just one or two lemons.

My mileage figures are always update here. You'll have to go a couple of pages back to check, cuz I have a bad memory. By the general report its 40-45.

                          Anuj's Vela is Rossi's M1 replica. Obviously, he's a big Rossi fan.

And since you're a new member, let me inform you its against the forum rules to make multiple posts. Kindly bare in mind the next time.

There is no bike without problems! R15 is one of the best bikes you can get in our country! Still this is India and 'negligence' is in blood! .

I would also prefer Blue if LE is out of the choice !
                            Good luck!

                            • Guys, need your help/info/inputs
after filling air (fr-28, rear-33) does the tyre appears to be offbeat of air only slightly, as compared to other bikes?
The reason i'm asking this is, yesterday i filled up air(after about 400 kms; I forgot to fill air actually all the while ), the guy said sir tyre puncture hai. hawa itni kam nai hoti. the pressure was F-23, R-23. i know if the pressure is low we dont feel the small jerks n thuds caused by the road patches.
Given and take a few kms here and there. Is this drop in pressure okay with 400 kms?
I even checked for any objects stuck in the tyre as well as also tried to listen the 'hisssss' sound made by escaping air ( That was in the dead of the night so no noise disturbances) but found nothing.
To be sure today morning i had those same thuds n jerks by unevenness of the road. I'm sure the tyres are fine.
Still can anybody tell me whether the tyre shops like the michellin one in kothrud or MRF tyres near chadani chowk . repair the punctures? It'd be safe if i get it checked from some skilled workers.

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

                              • KMs does not matter! Before how many days/weeks did you check previously?
Always check the air and fill it in puncture shops or in mechanic shops. Petrol bunks(99.9%) wont calibrate the machines. So chances are there that you may fill it wrongly.
And i don't think your tyre has a puncture!
