Always check the air and fill it in puncture shops or in mechanic shops. Petrol bunks(99.9%) wont calibrate the machines. So chances are there that you may fill it wrongly.
And i don't think your tyre has a puncture!
Umm. I guess it was a couple of weeks back.. 13-14 days

after filling air (fr-28, rear-33) does the tyre appears to be offbeat of air only slightly, as compared to other bikes?
The reason i'm asking this is, yesterday i filled up air(after about 400 kms; I forgot to fill air actually all the while ), the guy said sir tyre puncture hai. hawa itni kam nai hoti. the pressure was F-23, R-23. i know if the pressure is low we dont feel the small jerks n thuds caused by the road patches.
Given and take a few kms here and there. Is this drop in pressure okay with 400 kms?
I even checked for any objects stuck in the tyre as well as also tried to listen the 'hisssss' sound made by escaping air ( That was in the dead of the night so no noise disturbances) but found nothing.
To be sure today morning i had those same thuds n jerks by unevenness of the road. I'm sure the tyres are fine.
Still can anybody tell me whether the tyre shops like the michellin one in kothrud or MRF tyres near chadani chowk . repair the punctures? It'd be safe if i get it checked from some skilled workers.
      Help riders
Get it checked from that MRF showroom only which is in front of ccd chandni chowk (downhill one)

My suggestion is buy a puncture repair kit, costs something Rs200, keep it under the seat. It has some ten sticks works quite well. Analyze the tire yourself, put some water outside cracks also.

If it is in such a short period then it should be a puncture! definitely the air pressure wont go so low in such a short notice.
But again i tell you, it can differ based on where u fill it.
I filled the ideal pressure (28,33psi i guess) in a BP bunk. Later when i checked within a week's time, it showed 40,44psi in a puncture shop.

woah that's a hell lot of psi man.
If it was a puncture the jerks wouldn't have been so prominent as ever. Also right now I checked it in the office parking. the air was same as in the morning. I hope it's not a puncture.
But being awarded with a softer compund rubber, its more puncture prone.

Yeah, Rossi is indeed a racer true to his passion. . He looked and performed great with Yamaha. What a treat it was to see him on it. Great that hes getting back with Yamaha soon. I hope like his former partner jorge, he too comes often to the BIC, and I wish the Moto GP arrives in india in the next two years.

And, pardon me, but what did you mean by "multiple posts" ? I just felt that the Vela needed a special mention.

And yeah, Yamaha has quality thats just unsurpassed.

            • For the past few days I am hearing a sound from the rear wheel of the bike. The sound is like metal scrapping against metal and is audible at low speeds, when brake is not engaged. Is the rear disc pad the culprit?

How much does the rear disc pad cost?

              • Guys, my baby is officially 4 months old as of today, and have covered 9500KM. Completed 4th servicing. Replaced front brake pads at 9300KM for Rs 470.

The top speed I managed to attain is 132 KM/H. I was sure that I could go past that, because it was in 5th gear and in between the range of 10K and 10.5K RPM that I attained that speed, but unfortunately the straight stretch was finished. I still had one more gear left.

I recently gave my bike for a friend of mine to ride, when the ODO showed 9200KM. He owns a P220, and have also ridden many R15s of his friends'. After he rode mine, he told me that my ride still feels and performs like a stock bike. I was really proud to hear that, given the fact that I maintain my baby with much care

What modifications have you done? are you sure they were worth it? given that you state it still performs like stock, I have done a few mods to my R15 and it definitely doesn't perform like stock (for the better!)

Thanks man, my daughter is doing great, 13.5 months old, walking, talking and demolishing everything in sight, loves the ride as well, she'll get to ride as a pillion as soon as I can find a helmet for kids (will get from abroad as this is neglected here!)

The ride is doing great (using the brakes a lot more these days ), maintenance is pretty much as a stock bike, except the air filter requires proper cleaning and lubing (done at the local k&N dealer) and refilling the muffler with glass wool, currently running glass wool from the local RE dealership, seems to be much better than the stuff from the AC guys, apparently it should last 2 years on an Enfield, so if I can get 8 months use I'll be happy, it gives a better sound also. Great kit and if you have any issues, Joel is there at the other end of the phone and helps you out as best as he can (A real stand up guy!)

                      • ^ Thats good news. Which part of Goa are you put-up, btw? I was there at Baga for a 2 day holiday (my first). Dint really spot a yellow joel'd one-five, wouldav known its you otherwise.

On-topic: The glass wool is well intimidated prior to the mod (?) and so is the air-filter cleaning (?)..
I'm sure Joel's a thorough professional.. Its a pity to see 'some' people demean the guy in such a folly manner..

Oh btw, haven't seen any pics yet.. Do care to upload a couple here..

Now, my personal favourite colour is blue so I'm thinking about racing blue and also maybe changing the lower panel to white. Looked great on your pal's vela and also in Raneet's friend's bike.

                          • ^Neel: ~2400INR..for both the bellypan aswell as the tail cowl.. You can actually swap them with the ones they have in stock.. Talk to the manager directly, tell him you're very much interested in the Pulsar200ns but still would go for R15 only if they swaped the above parts for FREE. He should agree. Goodluck!

                              Juz too much to answer.

I like the blue after my LE.
The problem with the paint was a surprise. Everything with the spares and the maintainance was well understood prior to out purchase. We all, I'm sure I speak for everyone, bought the LE after falling in unconditional love with its beauty. Sums it up.

But should you opt for anything else, I suggest Blue.

My friend Anuj Rajpurohit and his Vela.

                              This looks absolutely fantastic..

                              • Jorge Lorenzo, Ben Spies, Cal Crutchlow, Valentiono Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso fans. A small but important question for you all.

I am planning to upgrade from Pulsar 150 to R15 (love at first sight and will always be). If anyone can answer to my queries, I would be highly obliged to them.

                                1. How comfortable is R15 for long rides?

                                2. How well does it hold on to a bit of offroading? I mean, in my hometown, the place has got the least of the roads and are mostly dirt/slush or mud.

                                3. How hard it is to maintain it like an eveyday bike? You know, I am jumping from my 55 KMPL P150 to R15.

                                4. What is the price of the fairing, the complete set and the brake pads?

                                5. Indian question : KITNA DETI HAI? Fuel Efficiency?

I know that now there are on paper/on account balance, better options from other manufacturers like Bajaj and Honda and HMC, but I am smitten by the beauty of the Baby R1. She is a like Angelina Jolie or Penelope Cruz or Scarlet Johanson. Performs the best and looks the best. Also, is it ok if I go for a handlebar grip if I happen to get her home? I mean like the ones we get in foam type so that I can reduce a bit of pain?

No GF, no wife, no daily commuting sis , dad will never sit with me and will take his trusted steads, Bajaj Super(26 years old) or Maruti 800 (13 years old) so pillion can be tossed. Also, do we have any provisions like V1 to make it a single seater (I don't remember the name of that fiber/plastic thingy)?
                                Regards,
                                Akash Yadav

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.
