As per the manual, the run-in period is till 1000KM. Yamaha recommends to stay below 5K RPM till 500KM and below 7.5K RPM for the next 500KM, after which you may use the bike normally.

      Buddy, ~270 for Oil (Mineral)
      ~167 for Oil filter
      50- 100 for labor!

Also Excellent Yamaha, hmm.. Can you tell me what was your ODO reading when you got the bike? 40+
Yeah 500 for all that you mentioned.
      Mine was 0.8kms

Well my bike ran for 203 kms on 5.5 liters of petrol. So fe comes around 36.9. Is it bad, i haven't ripped it but 80-85% driving was in city & rest on highways. Have to try the full tank method now.

      • Guys ,

I have a doubt .I booked R15 V2.0 black color , the salesman told 1 or 2 weeks for delivery , suppose if i dont want black color and i want another color of bike before delivery , can i change it by telling to him ?

BTW , anyone in this thread from Chennai and booked R15 V 2 from Ambal Motors , Purasaiwalkam ?

Many say the , Yamaha Logo from the bike would be stolen and thats a problem , and some suggested to use Teflon coating to the bike ..plz say whats the use of it and also about Wax polishing , can i do both ?

yup you can always change your choice before the delivery i myself changed from black to red n white and then later to LE :P but do it before its too late.
yhea the yamaha logo has a threat from some idiots who peel it off
and no teflon coating... no use of it at all :P wax polishing is good but i donno if people recommend it in the beginning itself. my advise will be dont go for teflon please, and wash your bike once in a week with clean water when it gets dirty, i mean dont simply keep washing it if there is no dirt.

            • ^^^ the subject of semi synthetic oil is one that's become an obsession .... Why are people so obssessed by it & yet do no homework on the subject... Please go through posts on the forum and look for answers... These queries are not new and answers are there...

Guys has any one of you found this metal thing on their front wheel rim?
One of my friend told you shouldnt have baught this bike because the allignment of the front wheel rims were disturbed and hence the metal thing is added.
I had baught this bike like on 26th April 2012 and i had seen that metal thing on it but didnt had any mechanic knowledge about it so i ignored it.
Please suggest me what should i do?
Should i tell them to repalce my tyre or is it normal?

The bike is so stable even at those speeds. The rev limiter kicked in exactly at 151 kmph in 6th gear and i had much more of the open road but i was getting the jerk,Damn that was something i could not believe..This speed was reached by crouching fully and also the road was slightly downhill
