  • Proud owner of the Limited Edition R15 V2.

hey guys i got my bike on 21-02-2012. but the same nite i had to go out of bangalore for some reason for 15 days its been only 4 days of riding on the R15. wat an experience it is. its a pleasure riding this awesome machine.

the bike is 10 on 10 on handling part. and pure fun to ride. its a headturner.
and damn its hard to keep it below 4k Rpms :P but i am riding it under 4.5 k Rpm. maintaining speeds between 40 and 50.

    Today i had a longer ride then usual days. rode for around 50 odd kms in city. its a little pain to ride in traffic. especially if there is a pillion { i had a pillion today}

my GF was my first pillion, first reaction about the rear seat was " how to sit on it, its so high" :P but she was comfortable after sittin, she felt the seat was better then the FZs {my previous bike}.

got muscle catch on my thigh and and cramp left palm today for some time. because i am not used to the riding position.

the bike is very responsive, even a slight twist in the throttle will push the bike ahead of the others. oh its real fun to overtake other bikes i guess everyone here got my point me being an ex-owner of FZS feels this, though being the same CC, there is a huge difference between power and handling part.
posting some pics now, i will be updating on the experience as n when i can.

and guys please respect the ride, wear proper gear and ride it. i saw a guy riding witout helmet, looked like a loser{guy} on the winner{R15}.

I have done 143 on three different v2's but i think you can stretch it a little more.

On high speeds, it would be better than most of the bikes. Awesome handling and flexibility at high revs. It runs like butter on highway.

You would never feel let down by this beauty.

and who says no 100+ in traffic . Just joking | or may be not.
          Nopes. I got nothing.

          Whats Ananda Shake..??

High speeds! Till now, went only till 92 Kmph. And at high revs, it seems to stick to the tarmac, feels different(better) after 5.5 K RPM.

I said "even the 6-7k range", because today early morning, I took it to 9.5k in 4th (being inspired by someone here mentioning the monstrous nature that engages around 9k) and it was otherworldly.

If one rise-up from the crouch mode at those speeds, he will get a tease of how the self-eject on fighter jets would feel
          Rightly said.
          0- 500 kms were pretty slow, 4-4.5 K RPMs.
          Changed oil at 300.

After 550 Kms, took her till 6 K RPMs.

Done the servicing at 680 Kms, after oil change, took her till 6.5 K RPMs at 700 on the odo.

Wont be crossiing 7.5 K mark (Atleast try hard to, now that I've tasted the blood ) till 1000-1500 kms.

          Cant wait for it now..

No servicing. 600 Kms on the ODO and 132 Km/hr at what RPM, can you please tell me?

Also, I think the White LE doesn't have the sticker which reads "Read the owner's manual carefully before riding..."

Check the heating stuff, can be critical.

Handling and the tech is where our EXTRA money goes..

Sad to know that. How could you even leave..

          Very true on the ratings.

Ride it as sanely as possible, also take breaks say after 45- 50 mins of continuous riding.

Yep, the seats are very comfortable after sitting(when compared to how it looks).

The power & TOP Speed is far better when compared to "JUST" being a 150 cc.

Ride safe, and read the manual please.

                • ^^^^ Totally correct. Though I make it a point never to double, the one or two instances where I had a pillion remarked that the seat position and foot-peg position was spot on. Except for the hard part of throwing the leg over the seat and lack of grab rail during sudden burst of acceleration, pillions are fine with this bike.

and also i would like to add one more thing, people feel that they cant sit properly because of the too much gap between the rider and the pillion. now to make my pillion comfortable { in this case my mom and my Gf} i was wearing a bag{ which i have most of the times coz i carry some stuffs with me} which made them comfortable to hold on to and reduce that gap in between us. :P
well it will help in case if a guy sits behind you would want him to grab you when you brake lol

no no i was referring to pillion riders feeling uncomfortable sitting behind, not me. and since they are not familiar or used to sitting on such bikes it is important to make them feel comfortable first then just taking them on the ride and they will never sit again :P and thanks for the link but i know how to carry a pillion

They clean chain, lube it, check for tension.
Replace coolant, though i forgot at what frequency.
                            Replace oil, oil filter.
Clean Air filter as normal operation.

Rest few km/time dependent check ups.

                            • ^^^ @ Ron Sly... all I can say is that you should go through the link, it answers some of the problems that your pillions are facing including how to get on and off the bike. Also understand that a pillion is not a 'add-on' as viewed by most people but a part of the bike. The bike's dynamics change substantially with the pillion abroad.

@ nastrofaction... it is a misconception that most people have that pillion rests his hands on the tank all the time during the ride... the pillion puts (braces) his/her hand on the tank when he/she sees that the rider is going brake, thus preventing him/her from pushing into the riders back upsetting the rider's balance....

                              • Meant the same, I should have been more detailed.

Though, I personally don't prefer pillions on rides, they got to be as attentive as you and understand the ride and the riders action reaction well so they end up helping the pull and push not working against it.
                                Which happens.
