now the cab hit my left rear side, mostly on the guard that is connected to the tyre hugger, is there any chance that the wheel alignment would be disturbed|? only the hugger is bent half inch towards right. will post pics tomo/...

True!

The thing is Res- Rec mileage of people would vary a lot! Better fill petrol till a mark, like I said couple of pages ago, and next time fill it to the same mark.

More on the accident: The sales guy at the asked for the original document (Insurance papers, RC Book, License). The bike's registered under my Dad's name. Should I submit my license or my Dad's license? I submitted my license and he took it without notice. Said the surveyor will come and approve the replacements 1st and then will they go ahead with all the replacements.

Also, when I told him about doing the 1st service he said it'll be 470 for the oil and 180 for the oil filter and 200 for changing it. When I told him it should be free since its the 1st service, he said it is mandatory charges. I said okay and told him to do what is needful. Will fight it out after the service is done.

But I think its for the chain lubing (which I still am not certain if it'll be done), washing and cleaning of the bike.

Any inputs guys?
Aww.. Thats bad!

Servicing doesn't include labor and washing charges as well.

mine was 470(Oil)+ 167(Oil filter)+ 250(Coolant top-up Was cheated here, I guess)+ 200(Chain cleaning + Lubing- A lot again)

3.5K is too less buddy.. If you want increase the RPM by .5K/150 kms, and later /200 kms.

Like 100- 3.5, 250- 4, 400- 4.5, 600- 5, 800- 5.5, 1000-6 and make her ready to fly..

1. I'd start the bike and idle it for 60 seconds exact..
2. For the next 4-5 kms I'd shift at 3.5 - 4k rpm...
3. Then on shift the 1st gear at 4k rpm and the rest at 5k rpm.
4. I made sure the acceleration was ALWAYS linear & brakes were seldom used.
5. This continued till 559km ODO reading at which the 'F' icon showed up and mileage turned out to 52.5kmpl.
6. After that I started changing 1st gear at 4.5k and the rest at 5.5k rpm but before I planned to hit 7.5k rpm I met with an accident.
Thats great to know! But sad to hear about your accident!

Are you talking about the paid service or free! If free, then change the dealer.
According to me, no labor for free services.

If thats the case then, something not good happening with us.
They might "oil" the chain, not use the Motul chain cleaner.

But, good that all are MINOR!

Bent hugger! You need to check from wher it has been bent, may be the mount, not much!

I got my Bike Yesterday(26/4/2012)
I got it from YAMAHA FACTORY SHOP MUMBAI after waiting for long 3 days.
She is one of the 4000 bikes produced by yamaha. Yes its White Limited Edition and im very proud to have her.
I went mad when i looked at her for the very first time tbh.
But then i had a FZ-16 with me.But fortunately things dont go along the way it should.
I lost my FZ on 9th Feb from Khalsa College,Mumbai. It was parked outside the college and it was my bad bcoz i had left the keys on the bike itself.
Yeah i know i'm a fool but have very awesome memories attached to it.
Long trips to murud harihareshwar, moments whr i thaught my love how to ride, the time i spent with her on the bike,With brother, everything !!
Mann she has a very special place in my heart and will be always missed and No other bike can replace her.
As life moves on i too had to move on

So talkin about my new baby r15
As i told you guys i felt in love with her when i saw her.
Its a huge bike, bigger than its earlier version.
All in all i liked every minute thing about the bike but except the fact that the pillion rider has a tough time CLIMBING on the seat and also at the time of getting down.
I have used the word "climb" because the back seat is too high but once you get there its like a different world out there waiting for you. When the winds blows in your face the feeling is awesome and you feel like you are a free bird.
Riding Bike on TC number from MALAD to Chembur , yea thts where i stay was a risky job without the form 19/90, i dont know, which the traffic cop told me was illegal but who cares.
Reached safely home , rode it < 5000 rpm and 50 km/hr.
It was very difficult to control my hands because when you have an empty highway in front of you , you just wait to hit the acci and go vrooom vroom
Day1 : Did 40 kms of riding.
and yea forgot to mention tht i too had problems riding the bike in the first hour but i experimented a lot on the sitting posture and found one posture whr i was comfortable.
Well now i'm planning to buy LS2 Dragon for my baby.Any suggestions?

Don't Judge Bikers , We are Happy People! :D

Glad that nothing major happened. If you dont feel any change in the way the bike behaves then nothing to worry. Else SVC is the place to take here.

1. Brass color like the Subaru wheels, i love those ! (picture attached).
2. White rim with a red thin border. (R15 written in red on the rim)
3. Red Color with white border

Need you guys to help me on this ! Thanks
Since yours is the LE white, Option 2 would be the best IMHO. Brass would look cool on darker shades.

• My Red Rachel Nearing 6k & queries list

Guys

Hope all are rocking with your Baby R1s
My Red rachel is nearing her 6k Mark
and she s due for her third service . now my queries are

1st is about chain lubrication , i have done it only during Service 1 & 2 ( two times )
now it will be again done in the 3rd service
whats the general duration for chain lubrication ?
whats the recommended product for chain lubing ?

secondly , having some sounds from the front fairing when i go in some normal uneven roads ( not too bad though).
did anyone experience the same probs
pls guide me

and During drive at lower RPMs and esp during 2nd gear/3rd engine gets off And i press ignition again it starts again
iam very much worried about this issue.

eagerly waiting for your replies

Don't have so large intervals for chain lubing. Though there is no standard prescribed range, I do it every 500 - 750 kms depending upon the chain condition.
N yes, Motul seems to be the most proven of them all. I am currently using Tricobor.

I guess , Baby R15 accident is increasing . Today , while returning from college ( near Keshavardhini signal ) a P220 came fast and he applied his brakes but the bike skidded and it just banged the R15 V 2.0 rear end ( P220 felt down and the bike was just striking the road and banged the R15 V2.0 ) .

R15 V2.0 was loaded with doubles . The pillion just bent over the rider and when the rider lost his control , they were going to fall down ( on that time pillion managed to keep his leg on the road for support and at last they both and Baby R survived from falling down .

Damages to the R15 V 2.0 was - The exhaust mouth was just smashed and the hugger ( finishing point ) had got scratches .

Damages to P220 - The bike was ridden solo . Right side part of the bike fully got damaged and the Rider fell down from the bike ( luckily he din't get stuck with the bike ) and his clothes were torn off and so many scratches in his right elbow / leg and blood was bleeding ..

This bike will impress every one . Because , it looks very HOT and each and every people EYE will be on our BIKE and 90 % Evil Eye and 10 % Good Eye .

So i request you guys to take her to the temple on No moon day ( Every Month ) and just ask the temple Poojari to perform a Pooja for your bike .

The amount will be

1. Pooja items ( Flowers , coconut , Camphor , lemon , Defensive Evil eye black thread and chandanam ( sandel )/Bibudhi ( Ash color thing )/Kumkumom ( Red color thing) - This is will cost around Rs.50 approx.

2. Wage for Poojari for performing the Pooja - Pay him Rs.50 .

So total amount will be Rs.100 only . If you guys save Rs.5 per day means you will be having a sum of Rs.150 ( every month end ) ...

So just start performing this Pooja and protect your BIKE from Danger !!

• Oil Change

Completed 180kms on ODO. Changed the oil filter & engine oil. Mineral oil. The svc guys was telling to change to SS then i realized that these people know nothing. After the oil change i feel bike has become more smooth & even gear shifting is getting smoother. No false neutrals till now. Getting used to the bike.less back ache & wrist pains. Very helpful info from many of you guys. Will be changing oil & filter after 500kms. They charged around 508/-
