Has anyone tried tying the backpack onto the rear seat while touring? How easy is it to do so using bungee cords ?

What is the cruising speed I could maintain on this machine on highways ( will be doing Mysore to Chennai ) ?
Had quite some trips with backpack in rear seat, tied down by bungee cords.
1.Yes it does scratch the rear panels a bit!
2.The bag tend to slide down and hit the rider as you go on, which can be avoided by tagging the handle/loop of the bag to the tail part. By this the bag never moves out of place! Provided bungee cords are tied tightly!
3.it is better if you have the full mudguard with saree guard in place. It will help to tie/place the bungee cords.
    4. Any speed like 90-120 is better in my opinion!

Please refer to the attached pic for reference. For me the bag never got out of position. Even after all those sharp hairpins+300km of ghats!

    Hope it helps!
    Deepak.

          • Yo guys!!!

Riding my new r15 for the past 3 days and loving each day!!

Had a question. Even when I ride for a short distance like 2 kms, the engine heats up and radiator turns on. This is normal?? Also, I have been very careful not to rev past 4k rpm.

              Perfectly normal.

Yep the 4k limit for first 500kms and then 7k limit for 501 to 1000kms is perfect.
Give sufficient breaks between the runs an do not race throttle the accelerator.

Post some pics of your bike if you have any?

                • Lil help Needed related to radiator fan

                  Hello guys,

my fren has r15 v2.0. he is got some problem, whenever he turns on his bike, radiator fan is turning on. but temp indicator is not turning on console to suspect if its related to coolant. He checked the coolant level, its at normal level.

Please suggest if any one had any similar issues or point me to the right link to resolve this issue. He is at his native where there is no yamaha showroom/service centre to help...

now its default that when you turn on the electrical's the bike checks everything and the fan too turns on for sometime. but id the fan is always on n running fast then must be some problem. now check if its happening or not. if yes then take it to SVC.

Bro you can use any Car shampoo. I use Sonax & it is not that bad. But Wax & wash is also a very good option.

Can you post some pics? My friend also got the exhaust but he had to remove the lower part of his right fairing as it got melted from the heat. The pipe was actually touching the fairing. He told me the exhaust was a direct fit on the v1 but not on the v2. Anybody else who has also got the RC exhaust done, please share your experience!

here are some pics after removing the rear fender. Yes it is a concern during rainy days where mud splashes underneath.. have to clean regularly. Nothing happens to the tail light.. its perfectly fine!
