Can you explain how you did it bro? I'm a novice at taking care of my bike!

Yeh i guess it is not a proper fit because i remember then having some problem with fitting the lower small fairing back on after putting on the exhaust but they did something on it for sometime and it worked out fine. Mine hasnt melted or anything so far, and i have done a good 600kms atleast after putting on the exhaust and some rides at a stretch for a longer period of time too. Will put up the pics for it later in the night.
Oh, interesting. Can you please enlighten me on how you fixed the problem? And where did you get it done(Local mech, SVC or Joel's) ?

Nice pics btw. Bike looks clean and sexy.

Ah ha, i'l put the pics soon but sadly my phone cam has weirded out, so will post one when i get to take some with my friends cam. So till then to describe how it looks, i will say it looks ok. I mean some of my friends find it neat, i for myself think it looks alright, but definitely doesn't look bad. When it rains or even after rain, i ride slow, not more than 50's, so keeping that in mind, no mud splashes onto my shirt. Maybe at higher speeds it may. But the tail part will get muddy.

The guy at Joel's itself worked on it. I did see them having some trouble putting it back on, he was speaking to another guy in their local language, so couldn't really understand what he was saying, but they did something and sorry i don't know what.
And thanks man, my bike is gonna be happy to hear it

Ah, well if I get the exhaust, I'll have to get some workshop or SVC to fix it. I reside in Kerala. Anybody from Kochi, know anything about Road Rage Customs Inc?

Changing the exhaust is a simple stuff really, it will hardly take 5 mins. But yes its good to get it done from a good workshop, from ppl who actually know stuff.

          • Two photos taken during a sunday ride at the Terminal Road, here in Kochi. Have one more but can't upload it to due to some technical reason.

And this was my first shot at cornering. I know that is not the proper way to do it. Still in the process of learning.

Just want to share a bad experience happened tonight.
I was only 2 kms away from home, riding at mas 30 kmph speed.
All of a sudden from nowhere a child came up and hit the handle bar with some bat/rod.Lost control and fell down. Hurt myself on leg and hand.

Bike got scratches on all over the left side and left mirror broken along with the bar.
Many more to be discovered may be when I take it to SVC tomorrow.

Although the child was unhurt, i was surprised with the people's notion about bikers.
Some guy came though he was not even at the sight of accident on that time and started yelling at me for high speeding!!!! I mean its considered with that bike and all the gears, I am supposed to be speeding all the time.
That's downright scary man. Stupid f**king kid. I hope you didn't get hurt too bad. Take care and ride safe!!!

                      • Had been on a small breakfast ride to Amby valley and back. It was pouring hell, i had taken my SLR and Lens. The cramster tank bag worked well in rains, no drip of water. Attached it with bungee cords on the rear seat. The R15 works quite well in corners, but you need to be going back to basics of throttle control, one small move and you may end up sliding be it wet or dry.

Rode most of it in CLOUDS as Amby valley is at a great height. Uploading a pic.

                        • DIY coolant topup

                          Hello friends,
I have a query to ask for.
Does anybody of you have topped up the coolant in the reservoir as a DIY??
I want to do it at home but I am not sure how to remove those plastic rivets holding the mock carbon fibre parts to the body.

                          Pls pour in your inputs.

                          Thanks

I havent yet and will not do so either. As you know its dangerous to open the coolant cap after a run in, may be you will have to keep it a rest a night and then try opening after the temperature has dropped (Coolant can spill out when its under pressure - Hot).

Coolant cap is on the left hand side of the bike
Side cover + Side fairing can do the job.
You need special Allen Key to open it up, i think the small one in the tool kit.

I suggest dont go for it, what you can do is top up only when the blinker takes place. Its not req every servicing.

Very true that it should not be done immediately after you rode. I will do it in the morning before even i fire the engine up.

It is very simple 15min procedure. The allen keys help to remove the fibre parts but not the mock carbon fibre ones. Thats where I am stuck.

On friday went to YFS pune just to top-up and chain cleaning. The yammie guy quoted 400 Rs for the same. I know those are standard Yamaha rates, but its way too costly and does not justify the work involved.

Henceforth I have decided it to it as a DIY each and everytime.

Cant agree more on this. Even the chain spray thingy is too much, One ride to office and i dont even see any lube over the chain.

                                For my DIY

                                Chain clean
                                Chain lube

Btw can any one shed light on changing of oil filter for every servicing?
