With 35W bulbs battery drains in about 2 hours with high beam riding around 100kph, even if you get a bigger battery you have to ride sufficiently long for the battery to charge up before you can use lights. Once the battery is drained bike struggles, engine lights come on. It becomes very unreliable if you are into long night rides.

I haven't been there yet, I only know the mechanic shifted there. He is awarded second in a competition conducted by Yamaha India.

            Hello Mates..
            i have a one month old r15 v2 .
Odo reading 683 kms. Got the first service done at around 570 kms..
I opened the throttle for short bursts after the first service.. I am hearing some kinda weird noise from the engine.. its like as though the engine is struggling. this is apart from the change in engine note once near the 5000rpm mark...
I did not redline it in any gear . i just took it to around 7000rpm mark a few times after the 500 km mark.
also the chain makes quite some noise. and it can be clearly felt while driving. is all these a part of the break in process? or am i just breaking my head?
please do give your valuable inputs.

The deal is nearly done. Hopefully it would go through.

              Ride safe and have fun.

                Hello mate,
It is impossible to comment on any weird engine noise without listening to it. You can take it to the service center and explain the problem to them, they'll be happy to help.
As for the chain noise, dry or dirty chain can be one of the possible reasons for the noise and harshness. You see, in rainy season, the chain being open gets dirty very easily, also the chain lube gets washed out quickly in rains, it may result in drying of chain and hence the noise.Clean and lube the chain properly and see if it solves the problem. But as I said before this is just an assumption of the most common cause. I cant be certain. If the problem persists, Take it to the service center. All the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

The problem is i bought my bike from a dealer far off from my home as it was a CSD Purchase. i am wary of the two dealers near my house as they both are small.
I live in madipakkam , chennai. Will be useful if u guys can suggest a reliable / knowledgeable mechanic in a dealership near my locality...

Yes, in that case brothers from chennai might suggest a good service center or a mechanic.

Go for the bi-xenon projectors. In market almost all projectors come with angel lights, but then while getting it fitted, you can ask the electrician to keep the connection apart for angel light.
These Projectors vary from different prices depending on seller. Prices quotes from 3500 to 12000.
You may also switch for Led projectors which have come in market or can try out your hands on cree lights.

PS: go for such quality lights only if you are interested in long night rides and not in just show off business.

Excuse me for that but this is a myth which many people keep in mind.
35W projector bulbs with good quality relay and ballast runs easily for 5-6 hrs without giving too much throttle and that too on "Stock" battery.
I have normal JCRoad Bangalore projectors whcih I have used continuously numerous times whil riding in night for numerous nights and that too at sane speed of 80-95.

Also after using normal projectors for more than a year on stock battery, I replaced it to Exide 5amp battery and it serves well.

Any proper projector will work on stock battery with proper balast and relay.
If one wants High intensity projector lamps like H3 class then its better to run on 5Ah battery with a cut-voltmeter attached.
courtesy: I did bangalore goa-bangalore in Night on H3 class projectors and for both nights battery didnt drained, neither had problem.

If you are facing such things then this suggestion is a problem and you need to get your connections checked. Do get the wiring checked that they are not car projector wiring (JCRoad electricians do that).
                      Also get your battery checked.

Nothing to worry as in new bikes it does sounds so(Sometimes its in our head too ). Will suggest you to not ride your bike as if you are babying it. Do open the throttle more frequently and also switch gears on bit higher rpms.
Clean and chain your lubes, sound will fade off.

As suggested, get the connections checked again, and also see your battery as it is draining fast. Also one good habit should be while cranking the bike keep lights off and also switch off the lights first before stopping the bike with kill switch. Also in traffic lights also keep lights off because these are such situations were battery drains a lot.
After all every part is made perfectly fr stock running, if we make any changes some or the other way other things have to be taken care of.

                            Hi guys.
I have a small question. My r15 v2.0 is 9 months old. I want both the lights be on in low beam. Is there any way in which I can have both my headlights on in Low Beam?
I do not like one headlight off and one on. Can a mechanic do it? And will it void my warranty if i convert both my headlamps to on in low beam.
One of my friend had given his bike to the SVC. The mechanic fiddled with the electricals and something went wrong and both his lights used to get on in low beam and high beam as well. But even the mechanic did not what he had done.

                            Thanks guys in advance.

Even if you do that, The right side reflector design doesnt support low-beam... You can spot this if you compare them. And i don't know why you want to do that.... One side headlamp is superbike style i Just love it

Get a pair of mini h1's, I got a pair from a guy who advertises in the classifieds, name is Ganesh from Coimbatore, very good set, really good output, not installed as yet as I need to change my headlights, but properly tested and without the cheesy angel eyes, only issue he sent me Ltd instead of rhd, not an issue for me as I already have flipped the sheilds.
