  • Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0 Coolant Leak!

Guys, I've been facing this coolant leak from the hose on the right side for quite a while from the very beginning... I've tried tightening the screw on top of the hose everytime i get it serviced, The coolant level is under Maximum and there is not much of a drop in it though... P.S This leak only happens if the bike is left untouched for over a day! What can be done????

No experiment, going as per the manual for the running in, keeping it below 5k rpm and using all gears. Riding including highway and city traffic. Nearing 300 kays now. Also, more importantly, going gentle on the throttle, no slam bang pickups.

That was an experiment. How can u keep R15 in that rpm in highway. Actually in my recent trip I was sweeping the group :-)

U have paid for it bro, what is wrong is asking for something that you have paid for.? In fact Allen keys serve more than the other tools in the tool kit.

dude my question was to remobangalore, which was obvious since i quoted him and asked him :P i know your bike is in running-in period so obviously you gotta keep it below 5k for the first 500kms as per the manual.

indeed no one can/should keep R15 at/below 5k RPM (not just in highways but anywhere), hence my wonderment if that was just an experiment of yours or were you one of those who might have thought high revs ruin a bike :P

by the way i'd be grateful if someone could post a pic of their front disc assembly that shows how close the brake pad is to the disc in the relaxed (as in, brake lever not pressed at all) state..just gotta check something in my bike but need a pic to compare it to.

R15's character changes above 7k rpm. If possible Shift gears around 10k rpm n experience the thrill.

My bike's crank shaft bearing was ruined at 20k on the odo, I mostly shift between 8.5 to 9k.. I did the same when I test rode in front if the mechanic who did the bearing replacement, he told me not to rev past 5-6k in lower gears and open full throttle only in 5th and 6th gears.. I haven't been doing it though

Sometimes the mechanics don't know the answer but nevertheless feel compelled to give an explanation/answer. ;-)

Hello people, is anyone here checking and adjusting the valve clearance regularly?

Not something you want or need to do regularly, as you'll end up perpetually searching for head cover gaskets.
