Sure there is not way to remount it?
Currently I'm trying to fix the mirror back into place.(though I don't have any hope for success)

This is what I'm trying to do,
1.Getting the stalk/stem of the RVM, off the fairing.
2.Slightly heating the opening of the RVM head(don't know how to call it), so that it widens a little.
3.Pushing the RVM stalk/stem back into the RVM head with joint effort of another person.

I could just pray it gets fixed, if not I'll have to replace it, knowing the new one is going to be broken any time sooner or later.

By the way fun for some time. 50000km on odo and stock tyres running tough and strong and now converted into race spec tyres.

Tanmay26 Bro, I managed to get the mirror back into position but it didn't get as tight as the factory fit. Ran over a speed bump and it fell off again. So wouldn't recommend you to fix the broken RVM. It seems the only way out for us is to replace it.

Those tires look dangerous. It would be wise to change it.
P.S: Bald tires are not race spec. They are very different from slicks.

Same here
For now I have removed the mirrors, as it looked weird. But boy it doesn't feel as big as it is without those mirrors.

And Godown quoted mirror price
R15 280rs
Fazer 325rs (hopes failed there!!)

Guess we have to stick to stock mirrors, best solution to not get them broken is to fold them up-top.
I agree this will loosen them overtime, but it won't hurt to keep an extra wretch just to tighten it while warming it up in morning. At least better than paying for broken ones.

Hell, I would be paying a 1k on mirror costs if it breaks next time.

@^^^^ I've just replaced it. The 280Rs for one R15 mirror is right. The mirror costs 250 bucks while 30Rs is charged as tax.

Fun word was mentioned. Race spec tyres have finer threads and much smoother. Looks bald though. SO yes fun intended.

Nope
You are lucky they didn't charge refitting , it costs 280 for a mirror. I asked at godown not the workshop so that is exact price.
I have friends at godown so that's where I prefer to ask first, always genuine.

I am attaching pics of the box and the sticker confirming the same.

Also I saw the fazer mirrors, they can be fitted but would be damn low for any visibility and biggest problem they project out too much.
In short Fazer mirrors =R15 mirrors bend outwards.

race slicks in addition to looking smooth (extremely microscopic treads usually invisible to the naked eye, hence appearing smooth to us) more importantly differ from the road tyres in the aspect of the actual rubber compounds and its various properties under extreme conditions...they are much softer, the inner carcass and the outer layer specifically designed in certain ways and their heating and shear/strain properties are very different (very advanced) and i imagine some of the very advanced slicks such as the current bridgestone motogp tyres are even built in a way that they change shape under load (and rebound from it) in specific manner for which they are intended for..basically lots of much more subtle "tyre engineering" goes into making slicks than for road tyres for road sportbikes, in addition to the outer surface's completely different texture.

more important than the tread of tyres is always the physical (but also geometrical, if the sides of the tyres are meant to play an important role such as in sportbikes) properties of the actual rubber compound.

Update time!

Got my set of original Yamaha LED position bulbs. Imported, 500 a piece. Had to pre-order them from the outlet. Look smashing, worth the purchase if you thinking of fitting one. I know after markets are cheaper, but anything for Japanese!

One more query on the fuel bars. I have clocked 150 odd kays with a full tank, and still all the bars are present. Whats the math here and how does the bike deduct it from the gauge? It definitely is not 2L per bar.

Cheers!

The display may be digital but the actual measurement comes from a simple float (think of the float used to stop overflow in an overhead water tank). How accurate do you expect it to be? Lean the bike or shake the fuel tank and watch the readings change. However, 150 km done with all bars showing is abnormal.

Well well.. If luck is on my side, i might join the R15 group
My brother would buy a RC, and i will snatch his R15. Just waiting for the RC to be released.

Btw, does anybody know the current price of stock tyres (front as well as rear) and the chain-sprocket set ?

Ride safe and have fun.

Changed the front brake pads @5800km on odo. I admit that I use mostly the front brakes and around 4000km were on highways involving in repeated high speed braking, thanks to the humps on blr-mysore highway, but this an outrageously low km for brake pads change. The pads still had some life for another 1000km, but I used to get a humming sound from the front even when the brakes were not engaged. the humming sound has exaggerated after pad change and is quite audible upwards of 50kmph. Any pointers as to what is wrong? May be all this also explains the low 32-35kmpl average I am getting.

Visited the SVC today. The service adviser over there showed me the bend links in my chain. How can it be rectified? What would be the average life of the chain? Can the bend links be repaired? Would it harm the bike if i use it for more 5000 km. Current odo reading 14700.

And one more thing the rear brake light switch doesn't engage properly. And sometimes stays on even after releasing the brakes or flickers. Service guy told that it is spoiled and will need to change it. Can i claim that part in warranty as the part doesn't get spoiled frequently( told by the svc guy).

My rear brakes apply less as compared to the front. In fact if i just apply the rear brakes it will never stop on time. Sometimes it would make a clanking sound just after the bike has stopped. The brake pads are new. What could be the reason?
