It's the stock Yamalube SS.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostWhich engine oil are you using?? How old it is? Is your chain lubed ? Dry chain will also cause hard shifts..
Changed oil in 6th service which was like a week or so, still the problem persists.
Lubed the chain as well.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Me too facing same issue from last 4. Services and again svc guys had no permanent fix to it. Really irritated with it. Specially first 3 gears cause issue in my case and suddenly bike moves into wierd powerless mode.
One thing which i tried to minimize this issue is not to shift more than 1 gear at a time. If i had to then i release and re-engage the cluch again. This procedure has reduce khat noise in my case.. But my heart knows that something is not right somewhere and svc guys are not able to solve it. :banghead::banghead:

Dude, i guess your braking habit is bad.. Rear brakes have nearly half the power front has and it locks up only if u push the foot hard on the rear pedal in panic instead of using front more in panic situation... Try to change your habit slowly and practice 70:30 braking... 70% front and 30% rear. Rust in suspension? Post pics here. If its in suspension spring mail yamaha and claim warranty.. Frame rust in some places is normal though.. Atleast i have it from beginning.Originally posted by keviv View Posthello mates ,

Lubed the chain as well. Are you guys sure that you are shifting up/down at correct Rpms?? Shifting down at higher rpms will cause thud sound. Also check clutch free play. If its more, then clutch is not engaging even when you press the lever. This will result in hard shifts and sound when changing gears.Originally posted by Satyanshu View PostMe too facing same issue from last 4. Services and again svc guys had no permanent fix to it. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hi I m newbie here, I m a proud r15 owner for more than 2 years. But I have been noticing this clutch issue. While in neutral when I press the clutch lever engine noise changes a bit. Is there something wrong with the bike?

Nothing big.. I guess Its clutch bell issue i guess. Changing it might fix the problem mostly. But am using it without changing for 6 months. No problems till now. But i seriously dont know whether it will affect anything.Originally posted by yammy View PostHi I m newbie here, I m a proud r15 owner for more than 2 years. PS: Am not sure whether its clutch bell.. Seniors can help if they come :/ Ask svc to check clutch bell.Last edited by siddharthsure; 02-03-2015, 11:46 PM.Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

I am shifting it in proper rpms.
Clucth play can be an issue. As issue frequency is at lower end after every serice for 400 500 kms. And after that clucth tends to lose and frequency increased. How much shoud be good enough.. Mine is around 1-2 cms and whats the interval to tighten the clutch.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I guess 2 cm is too much. check manual for exact free play specs and how to reduce it. Its 2 mins job. I tighten it only during service (75-90 days). But it depends on riding style. Mine is 75% highway ride, so clutch use is very less when compared to city. If you are using clutch too often, then the interval may decrease. Are you using clutch too often? I mean holding clutch without using engine braking when you release throttle to decelerate?? If yes, thats not the correct way to ride.Originally posted by Satyanshu View PostYes,

I use engine braking effectively. But my city commute take lot of clutch play. Seems i might need to learn something new cool(clutch play setting )

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Well its really easy... Just adjusting a small screw with hand inside the clutch lever rubber. See manual on which way to turn. Its clearly given in manual.Originally posted by Satyanshu View PostThanks for the reply.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
yup, its a clutch bell issue.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostNothing big.. I guess Its clutch bell issue i guess.
PS: Am not sure whether its clutch bell.
Basically some damping rubbers in clutchbell hub are worn out, mine is 2008 one, still no problems.
Be tension free, because mine is stoppied and wheelied a lot, so much that the tacho needle is crooked and speedo is erroneous now.
But still no problems with suspension, engine and clutch. Wakes up as she always does.
So in normal riding condition it wont effect at all except that ghad ghad ghad sound.
Still, asking SVC to 'check-it-out' won't solve it. Those monkeys would ask you to replace it which costs a bomb and hard-to-find for specific clutch of your own series.
Plus if you get it done on lathe, it again wears out after 6 months. So only permanent solution is to replace.
So bottom line: If it doesn't hurt you don't mess with it.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I dont think any website is selling new ones. You could find used ones though. In India, Daytona kits are distributed through authorized Yamaha dealers only.Originally posted by tomho147 View PostHow can I buy the daytona kit for version 2.0 from oversea?
