The second photo kinda looks fake but the first photo is smoking hot.Is the news genuine because Yamaha had just introduced new colour schemes into the market a few months ago. They might be planning a version 3 for the R15,but that
Is unlikely because the R3 and/or R25 is due to release in 2015.

Both the pics are original and theres no v3 coming anytime soon. The last colours were introduced an year ago. Yamaha does this every year, just to keep the product fresh

But my main worry is i had another unexpected fall this morning. I was riding at around 40kmph behind a pulsar 200 ns on a rather wet road. He braked suddenly to avoid a pothole and i also squeezed the front brake only to fall to my right. My brakes did feel spongy for quite sometime and lacked that trademark initial bite. I just cleaned the pads and put it back on , the braking has improved a bit . But the rotor heats like crazy. I want to know if anything might have gone wrong. The pads have a lot of life left in them.. Any leads would be very helpful and also some inputs on improving panic and wet braking.
        thanks in advance.
You felt the brake bite to be spongy after the fall? In that case, check the brake hoses. If I am not wrong, they are rubber hoses and not steel braided ones.
Also, if the rotor is getting hotter than usual then the pads must be rubbing against it which could be due to a mis-fitting after you reassembled the pads. This might be the time, you can go for new brake oil and bleed the whole system.

A few drips will spill, you don't need to remove the fuel tank to access the oil filter and the oil filter should be replaced, not cleaned.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

My handlebar is acting strange. I cannot really describe it, there is no loose movement or vibration while cornering either. I can hear the thud sound when I drive into deep potholes.
I think it's the cone set. My bike is at 22000 km. Do I need to replace cone set? or is it okay to push it just like this for 4000-5000 km more?

Get it checked first mate, mine does that thud every now and then but the race bearings and all are fine as of a week ago.
I guess its improper tightening torque on those locknuts under the steering stem bolt(one right in middle of steering) can't say for sure.

That's amazing. It's interesting to know that you didn't have to replace your cone set. I visited Yamaha Factory Shop, they told me that cone set's life is 20k km, it needs to be replaced every 20k km.

A query for people with interest in mods.

I want a larger diameter disc over the front, I went to yamaha SVC ahmedabad. They said they only sell fully daytona kit, only larger dia disc isn't on the table.
So question is, does any of other motorcycle's large dia disc fits directly onto my v1 rims? How can I get a larger dia disc and the bracket for the same?

My bike has clocked 17k kms (~2yrs). Rear tyre has got punctures 5 times already. My questions are :

                                1. Should I change my rear tyre?
                                2. If Yes, should I consider using a Michellin Street radial or I should stick with stock MRF?
                                3. If No, when should I consider replacing the rear tyre?

Secondly, some buddies over here recommend Motul 300V 15w50 for R15v2.0, but I checked the motul chart (attached fyr) they dont recommend that oil for r15. I have been using 7100 20w50 from last 4 months as recommended. Correct me if I am using a wrong grade of oil.

Has anyone tried installed a strobe light in the rear tail light assembly? I think rather than mounting the light somewhere near the wheel, it will look more symmetrical if mounted inside in the centre of the tail light assembly.

Just to share my experience with the r15v2, the clutch cable is a real PITA. It can just break at any time. I carry an extra cable just to be on safer side. Had to ride on 2nd gear all the way from lavasa to pune. The only niggle that I see in this bike. The riding experience has been thrilling. One accident so far, no damage to me nor to my bike (not even a scratch). Ended up in a field of sugarcane in some remote area near Talegaon. Thankfully the sugarcane was cut and laid, so it acted as a cushion for me and my bike.

To sum it up, I would say R15v2.0 is the best handling bike in its class. With its immense braking prowess, its a Life saver.
