Yamaha YZF R15 maintenance checklist
Good day Xbhpians. This is my first post.
I have decided to service my Yamaha YZF R15 v2 and need some clarity on that. My bike is clocking 13000km.
As per my understanding following needs periodic service
1. Engine oil every 3000km - Motul 5100T 15w50
2. Change oil filter every 10,000kms
3. Coolant every 1year - Motul MotoCool coolant
4. Clean radiator
5. Brake fluid every 1year - DOT 4 brake fluid
6. Clean disc pads
7. Air filter every 3000km
8. Fuel injection every 1year
9. Lubricate chain sprocket every 500kms
Please let me know does any other parts needs maintenance. I have decided to change engine oil, coolant and disc oil at this time.
I'm going to buy following tools
2in1 screw driver
Combination plier
18-19mm ring spanner
16-17 ring spanner
14-15 ring spanner
18-19mm spanner
9-10mm spanner
7-8mm spanner
8mm socket wrench
Alley key 4mm, 5mm,6mm
Please let me know whether I'll need any other tools.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Yamaha YZF R15 maintenance checklist
Its recommended to go through all the scheduled maintenance stuff listed in the manual of course.
Personally, i'd get the valve clearance checked (if not done yet), stuff some grease into the steering head bearings and change the fork oil. I'd also be looking to buy a new set of tires + chain; but that would depend on your riding style. Also, i'd get the clutch cable replaced because i can't get it lubed at the SVC and its cheap.
Brakes are serious stuff, if you are changing the brake fluid yourself be sure you do it right (the front brake in particular) or get someone experienced to help you.Last edited by incipient; 02-09-2015, 10:01 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF R15 maintenance checklist
Dafuq!!! Dafuq!! I really wonder whether the rotors are in place. Are you serious? How many kms done? Show some pics of pads.. Damn! This is not the way to maintain your ride and you are risking yourself by not maintaining the most important thing... BRAKES!!Originally posted by Mohammad Zaid Ali Haider View PostHey guys need some help
well my bikes brakes arent so powerful now especially the front. So is it te brake pads or the brake fluid that need to change
. And one more thing its been 5 years n didnt change the fluid or disk padIts better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

I came here last year after finishin my 10th for higher studies i took it out tried fixin some stuff like a new re system n speedo sensor battery rear disk pad etc..Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostDafuq!!! it has done just 9,000 kms n recently i drove my new rc390 n felt the brakes on them to be waaay powerful so i rode my friends r15 n found the same, the brakes on my r15 are only powerful but they dont gige that sudden jerk when applied.
