Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The actual rev ceiling is roughly 10k or maybe a shade below that. Here's an experiment you can try. Find an empty stretch of road at least a quarter mile in length. Then do 2 drag race like runs, one with shifts at 8.5k rpm and another at 10.5k indicated. Note the difference in time. Mind you, all shifts must be done at the said rpm's in all gears including first. And make sure you are using full throttle.Originally posted by PallavZ View PostHey guys I've read that the bike has max bhp at 8500 rpm so why does the bike go all the way up to 10500..so here my question is it worth going above 9000??

chothibai : yes there is, from yamaha thailand. You may be required to cut the wires short for the rear signal light.
new query:
I have installed John's powertronic ECU and am wondering if there is any tuning needed ? Such as air fuel ratio.
As i have been facing issues with my bike when accelerating from stop, the bike gets hiccups as if i close my throttle but in fact, i am still revving.
power gets cut for 1 second before going back to normal.
If yes, how do i tune my AFR

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Looks like your fuel map has a few problems. If you are using the RR version of the Powertronic ECU, then you can change the values of in the fuel table by using the software available for download from their website. The software will allow you to extract the fuel map, make changes and reload it back into the ECU.
However, here is my advice to you, I can see from your profile that you are from Singapore. Please source a good dyno and do a couple of dyno runs to work out a proper fuel map for your bike. This will give you the best results and ensure perfect running.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hey there, good to see fellow R15 owner from Singapore. I know Singapore is an expensive country, still I m curious to know bike's price over there if you don't mind sharing it.Originally posted by alwaysusing View PostHello guys!
Greetings from Singapore.
Have been religiously following this thread for about a year now and only registered recently after facing this minor issue.
Here is my bike as introduction.

I had a accident about 2 weeks back involving a car hitting me from the side causing me to skid and fall on the left.
Got fairing replaced, headlight cowl and I noticed that when steering my bike towards the left, the handlebar is able to steer till it "crushes" my fingers between the tank. On the right, it has no issue as the maximum turning radius allows my fingers to be within a safe distance from the tank.
Here are some pictures

Any idea on what could the issue be?
Thanks in advance guys!
And plz share that brochure here.

There are no brochures available in the bike shops here.Originally posted by yammy View PostHey there, good to see fellow R15 owner from Singapore. I know Singapore is an expensive country, still I m curious to know bike's price over there if you don't mind sharing it.

Just a rough estimate given to us as they earn by charging us in other factors.
bike price is $5500 SGD
on top of that, we would need to pay additional 5600 SGD for a certificate of entitlement in order to get a brand new machine.
+ insurance
+ road tax for 1 year
Long story short
I purchased my bike when the certificate of entitlement was 3800.
Paid 11300 for the whole bike 😂

I know there is a lot of struggle one has to go through to get a new machine over there. 11300 dollars [emoji15] .Roughly 5 times more than here. Here we get this beauty for rs 125000 approx.Originally posted by alwaysusing View PostThere are no brochures available in the bike shops here.

Can Daytona on R15 V.20 will match the power of KTM RC 200 ?
Dear Riders,
I am planning to upgrade my R15 V.20 with Daytona offered by Yamaha, The reason why is, After KTM Rivals 200 and 390 on the roads i feel that R15 had just lost its place, My riding would be more on race tracks and some weekend trips and i am not a regular commuter and mileage concern, but cant compromise on speed and performance.
I would like to know the following details, hope you guys can give suggestions on that,
1. Can Daytona will match the performance of my R15 with duke 200 and RC 200 ?
2. The Daytona comes with 2 options engine kit (29000/-) includes cam shaft, exhaust and ECU remap
and body kit (20000/-) includes Disc brakes 280mm, and sprocket. should i need to go for the entire kit or can i buy only the engine kit
3. Any feedback's on Daytona fitted R15 would be very helpful
please don't suggest me to buy KTM machines instead of the up gradations because I've already thought about that,
I know the KTM Machines are too good and i don't have any bad opinion on the performance
2 Reasons for not buying KTM Machines is
1. I am very much comfortable with R15 riding habits and i use to it with a refined engine and butter smooth gear shifts with R15, which i cannot expect in KTM Machines
2. If i compromise on the first options then comes the money part, i can't spend another few lakhs to own KTM machines instead of that some thousands can be spent for up-gradations on my existing machine.
Thanks in advance

You want to spend 60k odd for what? (maybe more)
Nope! It won't match KTM 200's figures.
Also, the kit is only for track use.
Better sell your bike and get a more powerful stock bike.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!
