Guys, how to empty the fuel tank ? Have to courier the bike by train and need to completely empty the tank. Or would have to suck the fuel by a pipe through the fuel lid ?

    Ride safe and have fun.

In R15v2 the only best possible method is to empty the tank by sucking through with the help of pipe.
And if you dont care about the fuel, then leave the engine running on neutral which I guess no one will like to do

Fuel is more precious than gold for us

        Pipe it is then. Thanks.
This is much easier in carb bikes, just remove the pipe from the carb and drain out.

Pipe may not drain all the petrol. The best would be to remove the petrol tube from below the tank. Will take a few mins extra but will ensure the tank is really empty.

Nice idea. Will see if this is feasible at the station or not.

Stock. Over 2 years old. But only 6000 kms old.

              • Yamaha R15 V2 Issues and fitting Free Flow Exhaust system.

Sir This is Ramsankar from Chennai.. i own a Yamaha R15 V2.0 2014 model. i'm planning to fit Leovince GP Corsa exhaust system to it. And i've some doubts about it .

                1. Do i need to go for After-market filter like K&N or BMC for better breathing.
                2. I find a sensor like thing on the exhaust system near Engine head . is it O2 sensor or exhaust temp. sensor.
                3. Will fitting a FFE affect engine on long run.
                4. I'm currently using YAMALUBE semi synth. 15W50. can i switch to Full synthetic from shell lubricants.

                5. And my bike is riding little rough since i feel mild fibration and sticky gear shift especially in 1st three gears.what could be the reason.

Then I've done 3.5k kms on the odo and last service done was at 3.1k kms. and i didnt use the bike for about a month after that last service. Do i need to change Engine oil irrespective of condition ( cause i'm getting different opinion from my service advisor and shell petrol pump executive. My Yamaha authorised S.A told oil is fine no need to worry about it but the Shell petrol pump guy told my bike oil looses its viscosity so should change it)

I understand this is a lengthy mail . But I couldn't get any solid suggestion so please throw light on my problems and doubts.

                Thanks in Advance..

To remove the petrol tube from below the tank, you'll have to open up the body panels and fairing from one side. That is a lot of extra work.
Why not use the pipe suction to drain as much fuel as possible and then start the engine and let it idle. There will be a few ml fuel left which is not much waste and the tank will be completely dry. Just a suggestion.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

I have read many times that the life of battery is in years and not dependent in kms. If changing the battery solves the problem, why not do so.

Yea, i know that. That's why i said if its feasible at that time. My brother is sending his bike and i won't be there. Will convey the options to him and then its upto him.

                      1. No
                      2. Can't see it, most probably it's a bung for an O2 sensor, useful if you set up on a dyno or road using wideband. Not much help on the stock ecu, unless you had access to the yamaha fid tool.
                      3. No, unless you are running too lean, keep the db killer in, if it hesitates you'll need to enrich the afr.
                      4. Up to you, many of us prefer Motul 300v 15w 50
                      5. Oil change due most likely. Fully synth and it will be very slick for gear changes.

Engine oil is changed at either a time or distance interval, whichever comes first.

Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Was returning home today doing about 250+kms straight and got stuck in heavy traffic with bad roads and guess what? The clutch cable snapped off! The bike is just 8 months old and has just hit 11k kms on the odo! I'm not that kind of a rider who does those hard shifting and gear-cut's but just cruise on the highways 75% and spend rest of the 25% in heavy traffic everyday!

I got stranded in traffic at the outer limits of the city but was able to find a local mechanic over there. A friend of mine bought the cable for 95 Rs. at a Yamaha ASC and I got it replaced by the mechanic in a few minutes! I'm worried if this is normal for the clutch cable to give up so early! P.S I do use the clutch a lot in traffic and at times whenever required!
The new cable felt a bit stronger than the old one in and was visibily a bit bigger in thickness too!

The clutch felt a lot smoother after the replacement too! Anyone who has experienced such incidents please do respond!
And here are a few pics from the trip!

Before it broke , did you lubricate the cable ?

                            hi guys,
i find my bike idling @1200+50 rpm an tried to adjust it but to my surprise yamaha have changed the old brass rpm adjusting nut and replaced it with a flower type key.
see the pic below. mine is the 2014 version with the O2 sensor. do you guys think with the required tool i could adjust the idle?

Yes, I used to lube the clutch cable every 2000kms and still this happend!

Bcz you got an extra sensor to take care of idle RPM, Yamaha doesn't want owners to play with the Screw..
