you can also try at any of the road side car wash places, they usually have a full compressed air system and charge about 20-30 rs(depending on how big/small the establishment is).
now there is a problem here. how to get the air filter there? either one can take the bike, open the bike at the washing center itself, or if you live close enough to such washing centers, no issues.
where i live, the nearest one is about 4 kms, so i always keep an extra air filter, after putting the clean one in, i put the other one in the box, and carry it along when ever i am headed in that direction

v2 guys, how is the grip of MRF zapper FY1 stock front?

I have v1, and front tyre has been sliding around a lot since last month. Its zapper FY, I am thinking of upgrading it to 90/80 zapper FY1 but it costs double the FY, is about 3.2K and the FY costs 1.6K.

      ^^^ cracks all over.

Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Cant complaints about v2 tyres tanmay. After 42k kms on v1(first tyre change was around 23k, both front back), I couldn't find anything wrong with them, and I have just crossed 2k on odo on v2, trust me this fy1 is pretty darn good, sticky as hell. I even mentioned few pages back that on these I can't seem to find any chicken strip(CS) on front, while the rear one always have CS of about 1 cm to 2 cos , though I know it has more to do with my cornering style and I am working on it . All this I guess is bcos of extra grip.
So yes, go ahead, but do remember that running wider(90) front with 100 rear will change the dynamics. And indeed you will find that the bike has all of a sudden become less flickable, your muscle memory might take a few days to get used to it, but soon you will be hooked. And eventually u even might end up loving that extra grip, both around the corners and on straights.

But I would strongly suggest that if you have a friend who owns a v2, simply swap the complete front tyre/alloy/disk assembly, it will take 10 mins max. Than ride it for around 5-7 days, say 200 300km and see if it would be to your liking.

Yes it would. But I have 120/80 on rear (and also some sprocket gearing changes to compensate it and make it as close as possible). I am scraping knees with this one already (until I almost crashed because of this tyre thing), less flickability won't be issue. I chose v2 tyre because it maintains the stock height (80/90 and 90/80). My rear is a bit high due to 120/80 (and I intend to keep it that way), I can feel it when making U-turns, the bike just tries to lean inside more than it used to, it just slams in.

I am just new to this tyre changes, thought this one would last more but was way used when I got it.

yeah i might have to do that as well...i was thinking about asking some local yamaha labeled mechanic shops if they can do the air filter cleaning. a bit sceptical about letting them touch my bike but might try it once...otherwise will have to do the same as you do..this air filter cleaning shit is relatively tedious (particularly for lazy asses like me:P), have to open up so many parts of the bike every two-three months for an otherwise such a trivial job.

@Tanmay26 - only 9000 kms of my bike yet so cant say anything about tyre life under hard riding practices that i usually do, but can certainly vouch for the excellence of the v2 front tyre mate...brilliant grip, stability and feedback from it under cornering and braking (including fairly strong trail braking)...

yes i too have noticed and wondered at the sheer lack of chicken strips on my front tyre while so many on the rear : O. sometimes i too think it's probably coz of my cornering style (i think most serious R15v2 (and most other sportbikes?) cornerers have pretty similar front-end based cornering styles anyway with only minute individual differences) but then again the difference is very unbalanced haha...i sometimes wonder if it's usually the case with most sportbikes in general for obvious reasons.

Buddy, that tire looks in pretty bad shape. Don't get fooled by the grooves. They are their for wet conditions only. The dry grip comes from the tire compound only and in your case is done and dusted. You are risking your and other's health if you are pushing your bike hard on this one.

V1/V2, get them asap or drive sanely till then.

How good is the race dynamics ecu? Is it a worthy investment? My bike is 2 and half years old with 35k on odo.. I am planning to get the race dynamics ecu.. The marketing guy told me it can boost up to 3hp.. Need to know if it is a good idea to go for it

no reason to worry than, get the 90 front. will do well with 120 rear that you have.
the front will feel heavy initially, but body adapts to that easily in a matter of days.

it does worry me a bit. i think its time to give counter steering a try and see how it goes.
but i am not too used to this(counter steering) style of cornering. so for me its again time to learn unlearn and relearn

yup, i have observed that while coming out of corner it does happen, or sometime even mid corner, while changing direction
or more so giving direction/correction. but i have not been able to comfortably/confidentely enter a corner while counter steering.
                          Any pointers?

P.S: i have been hoping that CSS (California Superbike School) India turns their attention towards BIC aswell.

Please understand one thing - you can't turn without counter steering at all. Maybe you can, under 20 kmph. But after that, one always counter steers. You may not notice it though. Actually, it is much more visible in SBKs. To garner confidence, I'd say - Keep practicing!

this is something i have never noticed, maybe i was doing it subconsiously if that is the case,
will try to pay more attention from now on. I am totally surprised and confused.

Ride a heavier bike and you will surely notice. After riding the R15 for a few days counter steering is clearly felt when I try to lean my Pulsar 220.
