Its sad to hear about the accident Guru, hope you are fine.
as for the broken nut, as u said, its best to tow it to svc, cos if the part has fallen in the crank shaft, riding the bike can cause major
damage on the bike's mehanical parts.
Let us know how things proceed.
wishing speedy recovery for your bike and yourself, take care

I would suggest stock , my tire lasted me 30k (completed today)
But I think that's an overkill and would change it In a day or two now hopefully.

              Hello ppl.
Having clocked 1600 kms on the odo, it was time for the second service.Got it done from SRI motors , ashok nagar . They finished the service in 1 hour as requested by me.,changed engine oil and oil filter. The supervisor Mr Ravindran is a very nice person.
But the metal on metal scrapping noise post 6k rpm is still bothering me. I followed the owners manual break in. I expected the smoothness to settle in post 1000 kms , but i am still not satisfied. It would be nice if someone can clarify about the exact nature of the r15 engine. I did redline her a few times post 1000 km just to make sure i dont baby her.

Ah. Those kids. I remember a narrow escape myself once. And don't worry about the bike, you are well that's what matter. And my I recommend that you start looking for some riding gear aswell now. Roads are filled with hazards, we can't control all of them, but in case of a fall our injuries we can control to an extent with some form of protective gear. Ride on.

On a different note. Yes. I too had that bothersome noise around 6k rpm. Bike has now done 3200 kms and I have noticed some smoothness in engine along with some reduction in noise. Though I must add I did adjust the cam chain tensioner, but didn't give expected results. The noise you r hearing is most likely the tappet noise. I would suggest that you ride it for another 1000- 2000 kms. And during next service get the valve clearance adjusted.

Could anyone tell me how to diagnose a bent handle bar? Front brake lever is bent from the crash.. I want to check if the handle bars also are bent

Turn the handle on each side and measure the distance from tank or a particular point. If any difference, there is bend in the handle bar. Also, does the handle wobble at high speed or after particular speed? If so, the handle bar is bent. Change it ASAP and do not ride with bent handle bar.

                      Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

This was plain bad luck than.

As for bent handle. +1 on what devils_friend said. And be sure that the triple clamp is also equidistant from tank when turned to either side. If not, it will not give accurate handle measurement either

Pilot street radial definitely more grip than stock MRFs of R15 (comes at price - over 5000 INR for the rear alone)... especially on wet surfaces. But those MRFs are obviously more than enough for anything R15 can throw on it. Such a great value for money at just under 3000 INR..

Done 3rd service yesterday and the bill came up at 950/-
Asked them to top up the coolant but as usual mechs didn't do it :banghead:
Also the yamalube SS literally became unusable after 2k kms, somebody on free service please share their views on this
It seems the oil isn't suited for the drain interval Yamaha is recommending.

                                +1 on that,
its just my personal experience but on v1 my drain interval was 1000 to 1500 kms max and than i used to replace it with motul 300v and just forget it.
served well. now v2 is running on motul from 1100 kms onwards, i see no reason why she will get a taste of yamalube again.
