i would also like to suggest that you get the tyre and alloy checked for air leaks(the contect are between tyre and alloy, alloy bends, or some fixed puncture that is not done properly and still leaking) , cos this many puncture only mean that the tyre is not retaining
enough air and tyre pressure is dropping too soon, and as we know tyre running with low air pressure has more chances of getting puncture than a tyre with optimum pressure.
The price do vary based on quality of rubber compound used to feel in the leak..

Yes I check the tyres every weekend for leaks and I can assure that all the 8 punctures are intact. It's been 2400kms since the last puncture and no drop in air pressures are yet noticed. So far so good.

Hi all, I have done 30k on my 2011 R15 V2. Had done replacements of engine oil, coolant, spark plug, Air Filter, Timing chain tensioner, Chain & Sprocket set. The odd thing with my bike is when I start it in the middle of a cold night, the engine feels so solid and not even a tiny vibration even @100+ kmph. But on a regular daytime it doesn't feel so smooth as like in the cold nights. The engine feels harsh (not the foot peg or fairing parts or any other parts but the engine). I suspect its a faulty timing chain? It doesn't feel solid at daytime and the sound is not the same like other new R15s.

I tried explaining this to the SVC guys a lot of times even a local mechanic wasn't able to distinguish the sound or feel the harshness. I'm able to identify it as I have experienced both the smooth and harsh behavior of my bike. What might be other than the timing chain?

I'm damn sure its not the tappet noise or the cooling system as I can experience the issue as soon as I start the engine in the day time or even morning. I also ensured the engine mount bolts are not loose. The vibration is not felt on any parts but I can say the engine is not super smooth as like in the cold nights. Do someone encounter same problem as me ?

          Engine oil - Motul 100% synthetic 20W50

Bottom line - Engine is harsh at day times but buttery super smooth through out the rev range at cold nights.

I have one doubt regarding your query. Regardless of the outside temperature, Shouldn't the engine temperature be the same once warmed up for a few minutes during the day or night and you've also mentioned doing 100Kph, So won't the engine be at the optimum temperature even at cold nights when ridden for a while? Does it feel rough after sometime like during the day? Now this is really confusing

I usually take the bike at nights for a short ride like picking someone up from the railway station. Not sure it felt harsh after riding for a while but sure it didn't feel harsh for about 5-10kms. But I can clearly distinguish the difference between two sounds and feel. The throttle feels solid in night and not so in the other times. I'm running through some forums and I'm narrowing it down to the culprit timing chain & cam sprocket. If you can identify from the sound if its from faulty timing chain or something else I can send you an audio clip which I can record.

If I'm to assume the engine oil must be real cold and thick in the night. As does the timing chain must be cold and it might not be loose when cold. I suppose it takes much longer time than daytime to warm up in nights that's why it didn't feel harsh for a short ride. And more over heat dissipation must be higher due to the cold temperature outside which is not the case in day time.

Try idling your bike till the rpm falls to 1.2+/- k rpm from 1.5+/- rpm during both the day and nights and try driving for a while for about half an hour or maybe. Also experiment by letting the radiator fan kick in and then see how your bike behaves when heated up at that point! This is one unique query I've come across though. Cheers!

Sure, I would do the test and get back. The problem is simple as that, engine is smooth and not smooth at different surrounding temperatures. Will run the engine till it kicks the radiator and check if it behaves alike in both conditions.

Everywhere in Tamilnadu these people charge 100+ bucks for a single puncture. What I did is I bought a tubeless tyre puncture repair kit online for 100 bucks and I get the refills from nearby auto spare stores for Rs.50 for a pack of 5 plugs. Reflate the tyre at a nearby shop after fixing the puncture myself pretty cheap and easy to do. That means you can fix a puncture for less than Rs.20. My stock tyres had like 20+ punctures fixed after which all 20 started leaking air @18k kms I changed to MRF Zapper Vyde 120/80 R17 @ Rs.2600 comparing to the stock Rs.3600. IT really does a good job and had encountered just one puncture in 12k kms. But the performance is not on par with stock. But better than many other brands though.

                    Hi,
I own a Pulsar 200 NS which has crossed 17,500 kms & recently had my first experience of punctures with my bike. The mechanic told me to change the rear tyre as soon as i can.
Hence, I have finally decided to go for the tyre change. Following is the tyre that I have selected:-

                    Rear:- 130/70 MRF REVZ {R15 V2 TYRE}

I request the Bangalore members of this group to help me out on the pricing of the above tyre as I plan to go to JC Road this Sunday. Please help.

Revz-s costs approximately Rs.3600. It offers great performance but beware the life of the tyre is arounf 18k +/- kms and at the end of its life its known to attract punctures a lot.

I got revz-s for 3000 from mrf dealer. He quoted 2k for the front tyre but it was 1.6k in JC road, so I am guessing revz-s will cost around 2700 in JC road..
