also, you might wanna recheck your calculation, 55 kmpl is unnatural for R15 under any circumstances :P
Dude its 2014 R15..... Its normal mileage for 2014 under those conditions.. Gives 50kmpl normally

oh hell :O why didnt yamaha include closed loop FI in the previous years' R15v2 ? would have saved me quite a bit of money/petrol per month in that case.

being 2014 version then i guess his bike is probably in running-in period hence the highway cruising at mere 70-80 kmph :-)

Read before you jump into conclusions buddy. I've stated in my previous comment that I got 55kmpl because I had to ride along a friend who was on his RE 350. His bike was most comfortable doing 70-80kph.
Cheers

apologies mate, but also, no you didnt quite say that, you said you had to 'ride along a bull sanely'..perhaps it was obvious but i didnt think by "bull" you meant the bullet 350 :P i just thought it was an expression for saying you were riding very sanely (hence very slowly) or something. :-)
also, i didnt jump into any conclusion...i just asked you *whether* you always rode so slowly, thus implicitly giving the benefit of doubt that perhaps this was a one-off ride of that kind. :-)

Completed a 2000km long trip recently.. Bike is doing all good.. Problem is with the luggage. I got a pair of saddle bags last year. After 3-4 long rides the bottom of the bag has got holes because the ankle support on the rear foot peg constantly rubs on to the bag. This time I tied newspaper to cover the sharp edge on the support. Also I have to tie the bag up using a bungee cord so that it doesn't rest on the exhaust. very tiring process though!!
Has any of you come across bags that fit properly on V2?? Suggestions are always welcome

Hi Guru have a look at my setup. Here I've used Cramster Colt and Bubble wrap. It hardly touches silencer / footpeg.

Mine looks almost same bro.. When I go over potholes the bag hits the foot peg..
Bubble wrap is a good idea  I have ended up with few scratches next to the rear seat..

Thanks a lot brother.. I had checked out this bag earlier.. Somehow I thought it won't fit on V2, after going through that post I want to buy it now.. Should have invested in this rather than buying normal saddle bags

My bike has started making a sound from the right aspect of the rear wheel. The sound is like when some wooden furniture is moved on the floor. It comes up while riding at a low speed, especially while making a turn, but disappears completely when the wheel is rotated freely whilst on the main stand. The said sound is rather discreet and also gives out fine vibrations through the right footpeg.
I recently got the wheel bearings greased and the rear disc pad changed.
I don't think it is a major problem, mostly it would be the new pad at fault, but asking here just to be on the safe side and prevent the progression of any problem, if at all there is.

Its the rear pads.

This bag is indeed perfect fit

Gurudatt, yes this bag is perfect fit from Viaterra.
I Have used it fro 15k+ kms and my friends have used it for another 5k+.
Go for it. It almost fits everything, including the small jerry cans.

Just a small change while strapping the bag on bike.
On the rear part dont take it around the tail lights as then rear lights wont be visible to person behind you.
Rather take it around the tail which connects the number plate and then strap it to velcro tape.
I am uploading pic which can give bit clear picture how to strap the rear part(which has to be considered very important as strapping the rear part only balances the bag inorder to avoid moving back and froth while riding-breaking-riding.)
Second and third pics gives rough idea how one can easily put all the things in it including jerry cans.

Does the panels V shape towards the rear brake light end bother the Cramsters? I tried the same but with no luck.

With a pillion I don't get the confidence to bend the bike.. With some weight on the rear seat and also considerable height does the handling get affected? I have never used a tail bag.. To me road trips are never complete without having fun in the corners
