Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Use low or single HID, to avoid getting trouble warning light on, apparently kills the battery efficiency drastically, It need not be an hour always that you can use HID.... This is needed on how would use it, say if you leave the bike at home until evening (or may be a day or so) and suddenly takes it will result in even worst situation. Just understand the way it has to be used then no problem, you don't need upgrade the battery capacityOriginally posted by akhilash95 View Post

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Pls wait some more days, even the Yamaha site havent been updated. If you roll some pages back, you can see new colours there.Originally posted by tusilal View PostHi guys. Im planning to buy an r15 in a few days/weeks. However, I'm not able to find any pictures of the new colors that they've launched.
Can someone point me at the right direction please?
I just want to make sure that i don't miss the chance this year too like how missed last year when they launched new 2013 colors and discontinued the racing blue.

Not unless you are a racer, the difference we mortals feel is psychological.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostRemoving even a kg of part from the bike make you feel more acceleration, no matter how small it is.
BTW the difference in weight between a full fuel tank and an empty one is around 7kg (7 times more). Can you tell the difference in accelaration there? Has anyone measured the difference in 0-100 times?Last edited by incipient; 02-17-2014, 04:42 PM.

New red one doesn't look quite promising and reminds bit of 150 cbr interms of graphics though. But
I like the tail section graphics,
looks stunning

R15 Mechanic wanted, coimbatore
I've done 24000 kms on my R15 v2 and I've been experiencing valve noise and timing chain noise since 5000 kms and I've got a worn out razor kit also too. :-( Yamaha service centers have not fixed my problems despite 5 services. I'm looking for a mechanic who is experienced with R15. Preferable locations coimbatore and chennai.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
no, it doesnt seem like its leaking air...although it's been nearly 12 days i last checked for tyre pressure and filled them up...but the bike's not handling or behaving it any weird or negative manner, so i think it's all fine (so far).Originally posted by nagsgwda007 View PostIs the rim leaking air? If yes, then go for new rim. If not, then better use this as it wouldn't be of much harm as far as I know. But in case you want to go for new rim, it will take 2-3 hours of time depending on labor skill. First they need to remove the disk from the wheel which is quite time consuming. The reason is they need to remove the bolts which are used to bolt the disk to the wheel. These will be very tight and requires heating or real hard hammering on the bolts to loosen them. Just be right in front of them while they do this and ensure that they don't harm the disk. The bolts will be replaced as they won't be good for further use. Once, the bolt is removed, then the tyre has to be removed and fitted on the new rim which either they will do or get it done by someone else or may even simply tell you to get it done outside. Once this is done, it has to be fitted back to the bike which is quite easy task. Just ensure that they don't harm the tyre side walls while removing and fitting. Better go for machine fitting.

i guess i dont need to do anything about it now...because as i said, handling etc havent been affected..it's really a very slight bend...under deep cornering too, where one'd think small things also matter a lot, there's no ill-handling of the bike...so i guess i will just continue with it for now.
thanks for the detailed description though haha.

'racing blue' and all other colour schemes evolve or get changed, but not discontinued...2013 also had a racing blue scheme, that they also called a motogp special edition...2014 racing blue is a more blue-ish version of 2013 racing blue, which in turn was less blue-ish and more white-ish version of 2012 racing blue (but 2012 scheme wasn't labelled special edition for some reason).Originally posted by tusilal View Postwhen they launched new 2013 colors and discontinued the racing blue.

truth..a difference of just 1 or 2 kgs is very small for us mere mortals to tell the difference (for sure) it makes in acceleration etc..that difference, if at all can be sensed by us, can be sensed only when one's riding to the limits and thus possibly sensing those very slight changes in the bike's behaviour..Originally posted by incipient View PostNot unless you are a racer, the difference we mortals feel is psychological.
full tank empty tank sure makes a good enough difference that most of us can feel, i suppose, or at least i have in certain RPM levels...i havent measured anything though.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
really ? nice, let's hope it continues like that. :-) but let's also say you are still a virgin boy then not yet converted to manhood by a crash or two :POriginally posted by Ivin View PostHehehe. For the time being, I haven't put any bike to the road or any other place till date

yes man that's all well and good, but that has nothing really to do with mistakes and accidents which happen once in a while nevertheless, if not by the rider's fault then by someone/something else's at some point or the other..:-)Originally posted by Ivin View PostRespect the bike you ride, give it special treatment, it will surely love you back
