Guys i am currently owning a V 1.0, but i would like to switch to V 2.0. I want the colour racing blue(not the moto GP) or 50th aniversary limited edition... i don't really like the colours available in the current lot. Can they offer me one from those two colours? i am from orissa

Run- in period is consider to be a big deal back in a decade or so, since those engines yet powerful but quite static in nature, surely will create an impact in long run, Despite the fact that r15 has the modern day high tech engine, its not end of all by any mean if opt for fs prior to 1000 km on odo, but to be on the safer side not recommend using fs in new engines during the break-in period because it is so slippery and dramatically limits the wearing of new mating parts within the engine. This initial wearing of parts is what makes for proper engine break-in, sealing of piston rings, mating of camshafts and lifters, etc.... Hope this helps:thumbup:

Anyone knows how to remove the original stickers from bike... Its not coming off smoothly instead creating sort of grey marks which is underneath that

See, the stickiness will be there when the stickers are removed.
Do this, use a hair drier to soften the sticker (just a little bit), peal them off and then with petrol to clean the grey sticky marks.

          Ride safe and have fun.

I don't think the old racing blue or the 50th anniversary LE will be available in the showrooms now. You can just confirm it with the dealers if you want or new color schemes are going to be launched for the V2 this year. You can go for that.

No, there is no harm in using a FS oil. I just asked you just to know is there any specific reason that you chose to use FS oil right after the run-in period. But most of them recommends to use FS only after the bike has run some 10k kms. I don't think its necessary for modern engines to use mineral oil for run-in period and using FS only after some 10k kms. There has been a lot of debate on this topic in this thread itself. Just search this thread and you will find it.
And don't baby your bike. Try shifting at least at 4-5k rpm.

            Cheers

Not very sure about it... Because both are evergreen editions.... Also the limited number of units add to the woo. In my opinion its too late, anyways just give a try luckily you may get away with one if you really could check with every yamaha dealer in bhubaneswar

Just tried for a top speed... but I didn't want to go near or above 9k rpm so slowed down after touching 130kph! This happened just once... Gear shifts are normally done at 3.5k rpm and crusing speed is around 70-85kph or 5k-6k rpm! Switched on to FS Shell and things got way too smoother. And also when i drained the oil at 1000kms, The Yellowish colour of Yamalube was still intact... Thought it would have blackened but nope! Thats it!
Your gear shift rpms are way too less.. You are lugging the engine by shifting at 3.5k. R15 hates lower RPMs bro. I try to ride sanely by shifting at 5k rpm and it just hates it and engine becomes rough.. Try to shift at higher RPMs (6-7k) and the harshness will vanish and youll start loving the machine..

My shifting pattern:1st-2nd @ 4-5k RPM and rest all at 6-7k rpm.. Remember, 7k rpm doesn't mean you need to accelerate hard.. You can reach that rpm slowly..

Anybody know the price of 'Rear disc' ? Not pads, but disc itself.
Or if anyone going to svc, please inquire about the same.

The reason that i don't go for higher rpm's is due to the high engine sound as the rpm increases! I'm not saying that i don't like it! I do love it on the highways... The growl at 7k rpm is fantastic! But i'm talking here most concerned about city riding... I'm shifting 1st 5 gears at 4k rpm and the 6th at 5k rpm! Is this okay?

First it will be harsh until the engine gets used to higher rpm.. Ride it twice like that and it will start to settle and you'll love it... Shift only 1st -2nd @4k Rpm and rest all above 5k atleast.. 6th gear should definitely be above 5k RPM (6 or7k preferred). I rarely use 6th gear in city.Too much baby sitting wont help.. Even manual recommends you to go upto 7.5k after 500km.

                      Ride safe!!

Do what sid said. Its a engine, so sound is gonna change based on amount of power it gives out at certain rpm.

Under 1k. Around 700 a year back, so expect a small increase now.

                                Thanks..
Today while washing the bike, i saw that the rear disc is not smooth. Like only the center part is being rubbed by the pads and there is about 1-2mm raise at the disc boundary.
The pads has been changed ones in the total run of about 13k kms and the earlier pads were also changed before their end life.

What could be the reason for this ?

                                Ride safe and have fun.
