Not the seals dude!! Check for any bends or minute crack. Try by applying front brake and pushing the handle bar down. It should go down and bounce freely without any noise. Also if there is a horizontal/forward movement in handlebar during this test, then check conesetOriginally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostNo bro..Not at all... Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Bro you have a fork bend.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostAnyone????
Well there is another thing that I need your help with guys -> ...........................
Preface: My third service is due for this Friday and I have clocked 3k odd kms on odo.
Issues:
i) I wasn't satisfied with the second free service but I somehow made my peace with it. However, after a month of the service, the bike has become very rough i.e. the engine sounds very rough and that smoothness is like gone… I can literally feel the vibes at the tank and handle region… especially when I at 80 + & yeah I am getting a mileage of 32-33 max.( reserve to reserve method).
FYI: I did get my oil/oil filter changed at 2nd service…. ( oil -> yamalube semi synthetic )
ii)10 days back an awesome cab driver stopped his car in the middle of the road and well I couldn’t stop mine and ended up hitting the car from behind. However, by that time I got my bike’s speed down to almost 20 kmph & hence there was no wear & tear to the bike (apart from some 2-3 baby scratches on the beak( in between the two headlights))… But the main problem started later-> 8 out 10 times there is an audible khat sound while braking. Has anyone else faced the same before? What could this might be?? I really hope it has nothing to do with the front assy..
Yeah one last thing-> I live in Bangalore... Which SVC to prefer for the third service??
Get it checked in Bangalore Wheels- Rajajinagar showroom. for fork bend they will charge you Rs. 900/-.
And in Bangalore BW is good for servicing specially when it comes to technical stuff and not just washing and polishing or general servicing.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Ok..Will do that today itself. But I still don't understand that how will a collision of that small magnitude can result in bent forks or cone set damage.. Any pointers for the vibes?? For mileage, I thought I will ask the SVC guy to retune the bike for mileage.(if that's possible..)Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostNot the seals dude!! Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Told you already... R15 forks are soo fragile IMO. I guess its bcz of the angle. Even a slight crash can damage it. May be its designed to absorb the impact by destroying itself.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostOk..Will do that today itself. But I still don't understand that how will a collision of that small magnitude can result in bent forks or cone set damage.. Mileage.. No way SVC can adjust like carb bike. But they can do few things like airfilter cleaning...etc to improve. Also try changing your bunk. But AFAIK mileage is constant once fixed. Mine is always 40kmpl. This is from the day I own. But impure petrol can decrease mileage. So try changing the bunk

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
i get around 35-36 kmpl and i rev it..that's fine isn't it ? i dont change my petrol station and company either..same indian oil from same bunk which is always a busy and preferred bunk around here, so i have to assume their petrol storage is alright.
thankfully, so far, i have not faced any problems with braking after my crash on saturday morning...no sound or anything...however, there's sometimes a little squealing sound (like if you forcefully rub a rubber or a dry clean hand on a steel plate or something) when i lightly pull the brake while moving it from here to there manually like for example while sitting on it and taking it out of the garage (not using throttle, just manually using legs on the ground to move it here and there)...however, while riding, no such sound at slow or any other speeds...this is probably due to the pads needing a bit of cleaning ?

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Its ok!! But I wouldnt recommend reving everytime you take the bike out. Its really not good for the engine. You are literally stressing every part to its limit by doing so. Which will fail one day. R15 needs to be revd, but not all time dude. Once in a while reving is ok,but not always. Maintain the limits and youll have a trouble free experience with herOriginally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Posti get around 35-36 kmpl and i rev it..that's fine isn't it ? i dont change my petrol station and company either..same indian oil from same bunk which is always a busy and preferred bunk around here, so i have to assume their petrol storage is alright.

And coming to sound. Dude!!! It got hundreds of moving parts and you expect it to be silent? Stop worrying about these small sqeaks and enjoy the ride. Unless its too loud and its destroying your fun, you are good to go

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
But there is strange nature of this bike. Sometimes it just don't stop and sometimes struggles to gather speed after 115 or so. I feel it goes by the mood of the rider. Its just unbelievably fast sometimes.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostYup I did 146 for more than 2 mins. F***ing stable it was

Ya happens!! Depends on wind and other factors. Also try to ride it after a day break and you'll find it scaringly fastOriginally posted by rocker View PostBut there is strange nature of this bike. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Yeah happens. I am riding very less in rains. Rode just some 200 kms in last month. Earlier was doing around 2500 kms per month and 130s were a daily affair without even a hint of being fast.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostYa happens!! Depends on wind and other factors. See sprint is good in general servicing but don't rely on them on deep technical support.Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostOk..Will do that today itself. But I still don't understand that how will a collision of that small magnitude can result in bent forks or cone set damage.. You have to take time out for going there and as discussed talk with Sampath or if he is not there talk with Mahesh; both are good.
Regarding mileage nothing specific am be done, just tune the bike like adjusting break pads, clutch wires and accelerator wires. Rather make changes in your riding pattern like how to rev and how to change gears frequently in traffic and on open roads.
Always remember to keep a check on the air level in tyres as it also matters a lot on mileage.
Try to avoid Indian oil as it has the lowest octane content. R15 can be revved like anything and keeping this myth to not to rev always is wrong, you can rev it just keep a check how you are giving throttle and applying beaks.

Biker Brothers for Life.
Became friends with 2 guys on the first R15v2.0 page on Facebook.
From Strangers to Friends to Brothers, the relationship barely took long to evolve.
Praveen (@kwacker) decided to pursue his masters in the Fatherland and due to leave on the 18th. So Anuj and I decided to give him a surprise farewell on Independence Day.
While I lived in Surat, Anuj was based in Ahemdabad and Praveen belonged to Baroda, somewhere in the middle.
Left at 5.30am. Reached at 8.30 and met up with Anuj. Himanshu (Praveen's school budd' whom we contacted over Facebook for the farewell) caught up with us and briefed us on the plan and quickly left to catch up with an oblivious Praveen.
Our timing was planned too awesome to be true. Praveen was on his bike, posing to the camera (held by Himanshu) in the middle of the road and Anuj & I stop right beside him. His first words, "Oh ****...". The look on his face, PRICELESS. (All this got video recorded, btw.
)
We had a gala time all day long and decided to head home at dusk. This was our last pic taken together just before Anuj & I left to our respective cities

The huge guy in white is Praveen and the guy in the middle is Anuj. With Praveen's Black Alice, Anuj's Rossi Replica Vela and My Limited Edition Aura.
