wazzup fellow riders!

13k on the ODO. finished my periodic service form Bangalore wheels. gave it yesterday and took it back today. Apart from that i had told them to remove the handle bend and other things.

here is the bill and what all was done.

created a big hole in my pocket :/ i used shell SS AX7 as usual.

few initial kms ride to my office was good, smooth overall. brake pads need to set in since they are new. need to see how the bike turns out to be in few more kms. everytime i come out of the SVC the bike feels different. that tells me that some work has been done.

and whats this halla over petrol guys. create a separate thread! i guess there is one already. please do one over analyse things you are taking the fun out of the bike. as someone said, there are so many moving parts that are bound to make some sound. get alert only if its unusual then the usual. believe it or not i rode my bike for atleast 1k kms knowing there were problems in the bike and knowing that it can be taken by the bike because its built for it. enjoyed those kms and few days just before this service it got to a point where i felt i have get it rectified.

though not like saquib who has done leh, but i have ridden the bike is many different conditions. dry, wet, heavy rain, off road, no road, pot holes etc etc. i am a pretty rash rider (not like being a pain to other commuters) but rather hard rider, still i dont end up facing issues that few guys here face with normal riding. so if you face anything unusual then track back and think if you did anything that would have caused it, like riding over bad roads faster or jumping over a hump or pot hole etc etc. please change oil at 2.5kms (SS) max everytime if you want smooth engine.

Guys please keep the thread informative instead of discussing your opinions on things like petrol

Just check out other threads. I like reading other threads than this!! Post pics of your ride, your experience and how you enjoy rather than just complaints, complaints!!! If some newbie reads this thread, he might think R15 has so much problems.
Plese keep it clean from offtopics.

Enjoy the ride

Hi friends, got my bike serviced today from Bangalore Wheels SVC.

Positives:

1) Bike is smooth again. No vibes( atleast for now. Lets see for some more time for a proper conclusion on the same)
2) Gear Shifts are smoother.
3) The khat sound on braking was neither cone set issue nor a bend fork. It was due to some loose nuts and bolts here and there( according to the mechanic)

Negatives:

1) unlike sprint, these guys don't emphasize much on cleaning and polishing the vehicle. The guy who was polishing the bike used wax polish around the digital console as well. Result -> the whole region around the handle looks kinda white.

2) As I mentioned before, previously I had to press the rear brake lever hard( like really really really hard), only then the brake light used to glow. They rectified it, but in like some 15-16 odd kms it has started happening again plus the rear bite is not even as good as it was in the morning.(Dunno What they did)... Why is it happening.Any inputs folks???

Off topic: One exercise for you all .... As you can see in the images attached, turn the handle bar to your complete right and complete left and check the distance from the end of the handle to the tank. Is it the same for all of you?? For me there is almost a finger gap between the two sides.
I know it might not be a big thing but its a measure to check if there is any bend in the handle..In my case I am not not sure if this difference determines that there is a bend.. So wanted to check with you all..just curious.

pretty sure people ask things around here only when they find something unusual in their bike all of a sudden that didn't use to happen before...of course, what seems unusual and usual to someone depends on the rider's experience as well to an extent in many cases, hence the very point of asking here to other riders...it's not complaints, it's just asking around to make sure if that also happens with others' bikes or not and if anyone can suggest something or clear the worry over something not to be worried about

particularly for those riders (plenty of them) who don't know any other fellow experienced riders in real life or they don't live in some big city where there are a lot of SVCs, good credible known mechanics and the abundance of knowledgeable and very experienced riders (who actually know some shit) whom they can personally go and ask around after getting acquainted through internet or riding fraternities

Seniors!!! Need some help.. My Rear disc becomes extremely hot even after a 3km ride. Cant touch for more than 5 sec. And after long ride, even the callipers become extremely hot.. Whats the problem?? I dont hear any sqeaking noise and I guess the wheel spins free. But I found that the rear calliper is moving when I move with my hand. Just slight movements like shaking( when looking from side of the bike, it moves forward and backward when shaken...Not along the rotation of wheel )
Checked screws, all are tight and good. Plz help guys!! abhimanyu31 or anyone

Just check whether the rear wheel is moving freely without the disc touching it. And yes, caliper does shake.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Ask the SVC to check if the piston is moving freely in the caliper. If it is not, then the whole assembly will need to be dismantled and cleaned. From your description it seems the piston is not moving back.

Ok. Shall I try to ride without appying rear brake and then check if its heating??

Ya that was the first check.. Its moving freely without any noise. May be slight friction and I guess its normal

same thing happening in my bike as well.. after the third service on thursday...The mechanic readjusted something and from then onwards...some squeaking noise come after the speed of 20-25... however wheel moves freely when the bike is stationary..and damn I can make omelette on the rear disc after a 5-6 km ride

That is overhauling. In simple terms adjust/clean//grease and set it back properly. any of the above is overhauling.

To all those how-to-run-in-the-bike-oh-it's-so-confusing. Here's an advice.
Read and follow the OWNER's Manual. Keep it simple.. Old School technique will do more good than harm your bike

It should be same. Else you'l get pain in one hand. Crash can cause uneven gap. Check with svc and adjust
