Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Best would be to stay with the stock air filter, it has the best filtration capacity.. The k&n filters would change the sound, but there would be harmful effects to the engine in the long..Originally posted by Cool-Abhi-Mafia View PostI am planning to go for k&n air filter for my motogp special edition baby.Currently my baby has completed 2 free services and on odo reading is nearly about 5600 kms.So please suggest me specific model for k&n air filter. Also advantages/disadvantages.And my purpose to change stock air filter is i want loud sound. So please help me guys!
If you still want to go, then the model is YA-1208..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
If you want sound and better filtration capacity I have an idea for you bro!!! I once read a DIY of snorkel removal in P220 for roaring !!! So try that out. Take out your air filter cover and make a rectangle cut in it. Fit the cover and rev your bike above 4k rpm!!! There you go stock filter with roaring of your bike. I personally use this setup and its really a head turner in city!!! Keep the cut portion of your air filter cover and when you don't want that sound just attach it with the cover.Originally posted by Cool-Abhi-Mafia View PostI am planning to go for k&n air filter for my motogp special edition baby.Currently my baby has completed 2 free services and on odo reading is nearly about 5600 kms.So please suggest me specific model for k&n air filter. Also advantages/disadvantages.And my purpose to change stock air filter is i want loud sound. So please help me guys!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
If u want loud noise replace the exhaust system or muffler .use dagrex exhaust Advance racing tech by yamaha or daytona or leovine or akra or any custom made exhaust. Replacement of exhaust will result in reduction of weight and lil drop in mileage but will giv u good performance, pickup and sound

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
The only consequence is that when you rev more for the sound your mileage drops, and the cleaning interval of your air filter decreases to 500-700km once. That's it.Originally posted by praveen jones View PostDude do u know wats the consequences of making hole in it?

Does Yamaha even revert to the complaint form on their website ? I have posted a complaint and no one got back since 3 days...... Any other way of approaching them ?The equation is simple mate,If you can't REDLINE it you don't deserve it.

Its the mono shock link. It is the first thing that will scrap the ground, but that's very unlikely, only in the case of huge humps.Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys what will hit first when we go over a hump?? Today I went over a hump made up of some hard sand(Nothing Hard) and something scraped it. Dunno its silencer or the link of the swing-arm?? ( U shaped metal attached to spring ) Was scared as it may damage the swingarm if it was kinda hard hit
Note: I dont have center stand/padlock stand installedRide, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Few Issues : Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys,
I have a query, I own a black v2 which has done 18k over the period of 1.5yrs.
1.Since last few days, the rear tyre is losing air pressure very fast (approx. 5psi per day). I have checked the tyre, with naked eye but there seems to be no punctures. So dont know what to do.
2. The Handle/Steering of the bike (again, from last few days) seems to be bit heavy/Jammed, which makes maneuvering less flickable. What could be the reason.
I am due for service next month, will ask the svc to rectify this.
Please pour in you valuable suggestions what could be the reason, also those who have experienced these above problems could share their thoughts. It will of great help to me.
Thanks

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Errr nt exactly!
Air filters are designed for allow more air and filter dust particles. Stock filters contains closly packed air columns which prevents bigger dust particles to enter. But the aftermarket performance filters lik k nd n has loosly packed air columns whose objective is to allow more air for performance hence it will allow more dust.
In this case if u MAKE A HOLE OR CUT in the box the sound will increase and the total dirt go in and sediments within ingine damaging the inner lines. Its life span abruptly decreases

Guys instead of posting and exaggerating your problems on hourly or daily basis better go through this: For newbies please click
And instead of rectifying others problem, better ride more and keep a check on bike regularly.
Most of you people are more interested in rectifying others.
Also I would request Ivin, Ron and Abhimanyu to let them learn first instead of helping them on hourly basis. Instead of ownership experience thread this thread has more changed into GYaan Baatna session.
Already many old members have left this page after series of exaggeration and repeated enquiries and answer. So if you all want that you share your experiences happily and also get help from others do think before posting.
