300v works great, but 7100 is just almost same considering the usage we have here, unless you are using the bike just for tracks. For normal usage you wouldn't even feel a difference, and most importantly , you can save in on the cost part too.
Cheers

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Guys forgive me for noob question. Is air filter cleaning easy?? I saw DIY but am scared to rotate the tank as I might damage the pump or fuel lines. Svc ppl dont even care to clean as its too much work
Yamaha should have kept it under the seat

Air filter cleaning is one of the few things that the SVC guys have to do during the time of servicing..Originally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys forgive me for noob question. if they don't do the same, complain to the SVC head and ask them to clean it..
air filter needs to be cleaned at every service as dust accumulation could disturb the normal flow of air and cause loss in performance..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
wtf! svc is not cleaning the air filter ?! i think you should take their compressed air gun and put it under their seat... u know what i meanOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostGuys forgive me for noob question. the next time you go for service and they do not do the routine stuff, just write that on the job sheet before signing and take a pic of it and send it to yamaha.

They get so many bikes and they dont have time for all these. Btw I complained one svc and yamaha f***ed the service manager. Now that guy never respects me and hes not even answering me properly. If I ask for spare, simply he'l say its not available. And he didnt even touch my bike when I gave for service.. Just waterwash :banghead:
So changed the svc and am happy atleast they are attending my complaints. Its better to sweat than bleed!! "AGATT "

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
R15 is the best choice in this segment.Yamaha's engineering is unquestionable .Now regarding the launch of the 250 or the 125 we can't really say anything at this time .I did read somewhere about Yamaha launching a 250 but I'm not quite sure maybe 2014 Q4 . you might want to wait for a while for any further news.!Originally posted by sagardesai View Posthey guys i am new on xbhp and planning to buy a new bike in few months
so i have have come to a decision to go with r15 but i have heard that yamaha is planning to launch r125 or a 250cc r15 so should i wait? and i am a beginner in biking as i have just learnt how to ride one so please suggest me to wait or go with this. I am in no hurry to buy i can wait till like feb 2014 as i have a hero maestro scooter.
and also suggest me any other bike with performance and low maintenance.
And again this is THE best bike in the segment! The equation is simple mate,If you can't REDLINE it you don't deserve it.

+1Originally posted by Sorcerer's apprentice View PostIt's a tad bit blunt than the sharp stuff mineral oil offered. Strange but true. gonna change to mineral next SVCing again. The bike felt little more aggressive comparatively smoother in rev's than SS.. Will have to try FS in winter's . Any inputs ideas on this ? BTW 21K on the ODO
I had used mineral once and didnt like SS, like you said, the punch is not there with SS. Mineral gives you more feel of the power and torque.
If you go for FS (I use&recommend 300v) the bike will rev much much easily and trust me, you are gonna love it.
Mineral is good but winner is FS
Since you have been using mineral till date, put FS, your bike will be a screamer
for sure.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
am sure you must have tried stoppies on your bike, well if you have then the only problem in your bike is the front tyre which needs change, i use to do lots of stoppies on my pulsar 220 and suffered the same problem.Originally posted by Ivin View PostThe forks and tyre is the only thing left to check.

My New r15 v2.
Sold my 3 yr old pulsar 220 and got this. Added projector angel eyes, duke 200 rear tyres and weight bars also the battery voltmeter. Done 135 top speed on this bike, but i must say the refinement, and the looks which it gets by every one really makes me feel like a celibrity lol.

Tell me more about the rear tyre. Any handling difference ? How does the tyre feel ? More grippy or worse ? And pls post some more pics from straight back and side. It doesn't touch the swing arm either, right?Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
No my friend it doesnt touch, the bike looks more good with that fatter tyre. Tyres grip I cant comment on them as i havent pushed it to its limit yet, but after installing this tyre the gear ratio has changed to 220 types. Top gear 5th rpm my 220 does 77kmph, and r15 with this tyre does 75kmph. I prefer carrying speed and not much of reving.Originally posted by Ivin View PostNo. I havent done stoppies on this bike

and about the wobbling issue, try swapping the fron tyre with rim from your friends r15, if sorted then the tyre is the culprit if not then fork issues. But still my experience says un even wear of the front tyre

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Dude R15 stock does the same (mean with stock tyre) 5k RPM - 75kmph 6kRPM - 90kmph. Btw 220 to R15?? Its a downgrade actually.. Why? Only people who want kiss every corner will do this. Are you that type??Originally posted by Seamus View PostNo my friend it doesnt touch, the bike looks more good with that fatter tyre. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
with stock R15 tyres, top gear (6th) at 5000 RPM also gives 74-75 kmph..
IMO actually it's an upgrade with respect to every factor except the CC/HP (which is quite a minor factor)...one could probably write a few lines about why it's actually an upgradeOriginally posted by siddharthsure View PostBtw 220 to R15??
