Conventionally every free flow exhaust make loud sound but one could suppress the noise levels if he has a proper db killer.
Once I remove the db killer the sound produced is unbearable and then it definitely sounds as a bullet.

it's a custom made exhaust to match the colour of the bike and I had to buy a different pipe and db killer. So,my stock exhaust system remains untouched. Total cost of installation was 9000/-.
The branded exhaust systems were costing over 20000/- and my budget didn't allow that.
A free flow exhaust is much more than a set of pipes. It needs to be based on scientific calculations and precise formulas. You would have been better off with a Leo Vince Corsa full exhaust for Rs. 14,000/-, made of stainless steel and flow bench and dyno tested for R15. It comes with a db killer which will get you past the cops without any problems whatsoever. Trust me, it worth the price for the performance and looks.

Exactly as abhimanyu31 sir has said, the exhausts are much more than just pipes..
in the long run, it would damage the engine and put a big hole jn your pocket..
even the stock one in the v2 looks nice..

Ride safe and have fun.

exactly..i love the way the stock exhaust looks..very aggressive and "racey" looking angle..

i too sometimes wish the sound was a bit more like what these made-for-R15 TBR, leo vince, KPR etc exhaust systems sound like (standing still or at low speeds or low RPMs, havent heard how they sound like in high RPMs or high speeds), but that's okay...

i anyway love the sound that i hear (as a rider with ears inside a helmet) when i am ripping it or even just coolly riding it at mid-high RPMs in 5th, 6th gears with my stock system..

True, the stock looks way cooler than what was on v1..
and as for the sound, it not that bad..
There is a v2 in my locality that sounds different.. Don't know how.. Maybe he might have changed his air filter to k&n or something else..
But i love the bikes stock.. They behave the best, with very little problems..

Ride safe and have fun.

probably..or maybe, without changing anything inside the bike like air filter etc, he just somehow made the exhaust hole a little bigger :P just doing that will make it louder sounding..

on the topic, i have always wondered how these bullets etc are legally allowed to be so obnoxiously loud (not nearly that sexy free flowing sportbike sound) with seemingly no db killer either, while no other kind of bikes in india are legally allowed to be even nearly so loud..something in the regulations for cruisers vs others i assume..

probably without a free flow system, these slowass cruisers will be even slower and sluggier without that 1-2 HPs that a free flow system apparently adds to a bike :P

Haha.. Bullet wothout that 'thump' won't be a bullet.. And its been that way for decades.. Maybe that the reason..
i like the bullet thump i wanted a bullet as my first bike but was not allowed due to its weight (i was very skinny then )

Sir I was getting the leo vince slip on for 15k and the leo vince GP corsa cabron full exhaust for about 28k and all other branded exhausts such as akrapovic, yoshimura etc were too costly. I guess in future I would get them.

i on the other hand can hardly stand cruisers in general :P

the only way i am ever owning a cruiser is maybe when i am too old and tired to be able to ride anything else and anything fast :P and that's most likely never happening. because even if and when i am too old and tired to be actively riding sportbikes, off-roaders and enduros or even nakeds, i'd simply switch to simple and 'comfortable' sport tourers, adventure bikes or cafe racers or something :P

unless, of course, i start liking cruisers at some point of life :\

There you go http://www.bachoomotors.com/index.ph...duct&id_lang=1, a full system for Rs.15,000/-. Guess the dollar/rupee difference has made it more expensive than when I bought it for 12k.

• Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 Wiring damaged

Hi Guys,

I am really depressed because of what happened to my bike ... My bike's wiring system was spoiled by rats when I was out of town ...

I came back home and I tried to start the engine and I saw that engine light was glowing and was really upset.. Went through the manual and unscrewed the bikes tank.. What I saw was so upsetting..

The inject line wire were completely chewed by the rats and few other wires as well... I didn't go further digging in and called the show room guys to take a look and most probably today they might come to my place to check on that..

And I was able to see that one more wire running towards the engine was also chewed by rat.. I am really feeling bad..

So can you guys help me to fix my bike not sure if anything went wrong

**Sorry that I deleted my thread

Thanks
Sri

Can you please mention the placement of the screw, because even I started facing slight wobbles after I experienced a tank-slapper on the rumblers.

Well, I have already ridden my bike for 12.5k Kms. I got my baby on 9th October, 2012 and from then on its only Happy Riding. 5th servicing is done and waiting for the 6th one very soon. My bike still gives me a FE of 42-44 kmpl. I use only Shell petrol. In Bangalore I used to fill up from Mahadevpura or Varthur Road bunks. In Pune I fill up from Hinjewadi bunk. Recently I started using Super and the FE got increased by 1-2 kmpl. Recently had a round trip from Pune to Hyderabad of around 1350 kms, which has a very good mix of very good, good, average, bad and very bad Indian road conditions. I still got a FE of 42-44 kmpl while going from Pune to Hyderabad. While returning though got a little less of around 39-40 kmpl. Maybe because of the Shell Raidurg bunk of Hyderabad did not provide the quality fuel. Anyways, even after 12.5k KMs in the ODO, I am still getting 42-44 kmpl using Shell petrol. But whenever I used anything other than Shell, which I did only for 5-6 tomes, I got 37-38 kmpl. So paying extra for Shell does pay off for my case.

Keep some tobacco leaves stored in your bike. Those will keep the rats away. Though you will get a stenching smell, but this is what will make the rats stay away. Let the service guys do their work and your bike will be back to her self again. So chillax !!! Your baby will be all OK

wait for it next year definitely. either 250 or 300cc. AFAIk its 2 bikes, fz series and R series. please do not create a halla over this nor ask the source because i cant tell, since i myself i am in limbo just telling what i was told because he is a person i can trust and very close to Yamaha lets say from past 20 years.
Yamaha is actually bringing out a new R15 version with lowered rear seat. They will launch it soon. And as far as I have heard, from a person highly placed in Yamaha, we can surely bet on R25, and not FZ25, but they are planning to bring it out by end of 2014. So lots of time now for me to save money to get this one.
