Better wait for the warranty period to get over and then you can use any oil you wish.
You can use Motul 7100 or 300v. Both these have good reviews.

also, try to read the thread, it has loads of knowledge and would surely help you in future.

    Ride safe and have fun.

But then isn't that a design flaw? I mean, if the manual says maximum allowable weight on the bike is 200Kgs including pillion, as long as we don't exceed it, there shouldn't be any broken parts?

Is there anyone else who has faced this issue?

I posted here because I thought I will get a reliable contact from here since I don't usually buy used vehicles. So not having any idea how to get a good deal and right bike without getting fooled.
Today I'm going to see many bikes and will decide which one to buy.

It's not a design flaw. Someone has tried to lift your bike from the rear by picking it up from the rear tail fairing. As the said fairing is mounted on the mounts in question the weight of the bike was transferred on these mounts making them crack. This will not happen at one go. It's very likely that this has been done multiple times to make the mount finally crack.

Its most likely that you have been parking your bike at some common parking area, where someone has been lifting your bike from the rear to make space and adjust the parking. Most likely the parking attendant.

Most of the time the reason is the push by pillion while mounting themselves to the seat.

Ya. That could be another reason. Though I don't know why anyone would take support of the panel. The easiest way would be to take support for the rider's shoulder and lever yourself on to the pillion seat.

Because there is no grab rail and seat is quite high in comparison to the habitual rides out there in the market. I always tell the pillion to put one foot on the footpeg and take support of my shoulders to mount on. Although its very rare I ride with pillion but still I have left side panel broken in those rare times.

Hmmm. Okay so no more pillion riders on my bike. I really wish those yamaha blokes had made a seat cowl for this bike like for the V1. And no, I dont want the one made by those KRP guys. I'm sorry, but it looks ugly.

                      Hi,

I own a yamaha R15v2.0 (I know, its an R15v2.0 thread, but i like saying it! ), 6 months old, which i ride almost everyday. Must've done about 4.5K by now. Sometimes I carry a pillion rider on it (no discretion there, pillion rider weighs anywhere from 45-85kilos). I usually ride somewhere between 75-90kmph when alone. Just the other day, as I was washing it, I noticed that the rear fiber piece is broken around the screw which it is held by, under the rider seat. Funny bit is it's broken on both the sides (attached pictures).

Now I don't know how this has happened. I am actually wondering whether it's my fault or is it a Design flaw. Cause if it is a design flaw, maybe I could persuade Yamaha to replace it for me, for free or something. I actually am curious to know if I am the only person with this or has anyone else faced this issue too. Comments from fellow R15v2.0 riders would be greatly appreciated!

Not a design flaw, because you would see more cases lie this. i am seeing this first time happening at that part. i have seen one guy's r15v2 suffering at the other end (below rear seat) and he told that the pillion put heavy pressure on the rear cover while he was sitting causing it to break at the screw inside.
Apart form this abhimanyu explained why it happens. and it has nothing to do with pillion weight because the chassis takes care of the weight and not the plastic part.

                              dudes,

been in vietnam for about a week now and another 6 days to go, having the greatest time here in this country of the nicest and really really simple minded people, dont even want to go back to india/indian society at all but the only thing i am missing here is my R15 (which thus is the only thing to look forward to about going back there)..

there's a shitload of empty corners here, even in the highly developed hanoi metropolitan's outskirts...so many of them in fact that it's just plain depressing a thought that there are pretty much absolutely none of them around where i live in india (allahabad) (about which i keep on whining here every once in a while lol)..i think even those of you who often hang around in the corners of lavasa, nandi hills and etc will also be jealous of the sheer amount of empty, well constructed and asskicking corners here.

have not seen a single R15s here so far...a few CBR150Rs and FZ-16s only...apparently R15v2, being an imported bike in here (imported from india of course) is usually extremely rare (to the extent that in india say a 500,000 ruppees bike is rarely seen) and is ownable by quite rich dudes...whereas FZ-16/S, and CBR 150R are manufactured locally by yamaha and honda vietnam..

if the above mentioned observation about bikes here gave you the impression that it's a much less developed country than india, you'd be in the wrong...on the contrary, vietnam is a far more developed and systematic a country than india, and far more than what i expected its level of being a "developed country" would be...it's pretty much an east asian version of a developed european country and society/lifestyle, cities as well as villages...the reason that still there are only a few CBR150Rs, FZ-16s is because they all rather ride geared and non-geared scooters/mopeds, almost all being either honda or yamaha and then some vespas...suzukis are extremely very less in relative number, and i dont think any other OEMs even exist here...too damn many yamaha and honda bikes (they call it bikes here, we indians would call it non-geared and geared mopeds and scooters..the bikes that we indians call bikes/motorcycles are extremely less seen) here, all kinds of names and varieties of them, some even with 5 gears, most of the modern models with front discs, certain models in yamaha racing blue and repsol editions too :P

the CBRs and FZs sound way cooler here than in india (difference in noise and emission standards i suppose)...a real nice exhaust note...

also saw one yamaha moped (jupiter or sirius kinda looking..yes seen so many of them already that i now have a rough idea of how a few of those models look from a distance :P) with an akrapovic installed :P also saw one highly modified FZ-S that was coloured "monster energy" green all over, installed with an underseat leo vince (:P), and a bunch of mods done to make it look (and probably perform) like a badass dual sport.

post not related to R15 exactly but thought of telling you lot about the interesting bikes (and corners) related situation here..
