Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Depends on a riders riding style. Some have to change the pads every few thousand kms and for some, they last for long.Originally posted by swarajg View PostHow many Kms does the rear and front brake pads last for everyone..?
If you break hard everytime, don't expect they to last for more than 5k kms.
Ride safe and have fun.

Well if you don't regret getting a 150cc yamaha now, you wont regret 250cc yamaha over KTM 390 ever.....Originally posted by <F.I> View PostIt's been over 5 months now
. Still am a KTM guy, it's just that the R15 makes more sense as a starter bike than a 390. Not regretting the decision at all.Last edited by Princepaji; 12-10-2013, 05:33 PM.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Doubtful. I am already smitten a bit too much by the RC390. If had any riding experience before I bought the R15, I would have definitely gone for the 390. But well the R25 sure looks promising in the promo video. Anyways before proceeding forward, I'll probably have to start earning or be exceptionally good academics-wise in order to convince my parents to buy me any other motorcycle from now on :POriginally posted by Princepaji View PostWell if you don't regret getting a 150cc yamaha now, you wont regret 250cc yamaha over KTM 390 ever.....

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
What is the number of days gap between the manufacturing date and vehicle delivery date approximately with case of R15 Version 2.0. The reason I am asking this is. I plan to buy in 2014. To get a 2014 manufactured bike till which month should I need to wait. If it takes more than 2 months I would like to book it right away and go with a 2013 model. Your replies will be greatly helpful in deciding.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
It depends on how strong is the sales of R15 in your city. Once the existing stocks clear up, the latest manufactured will arrive. Usually for Yamaha, late January is the period when that years' bikes hit the showrooms.Originally posted by vishakrs View PostWhat is the number of days gap between the manufacturing date and vehicle delivery date approximately with case of R15 Version 2.0. Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
You can Mention the sales guy and book the 1st piece which is 2014 manufactured. Well you should expect around Mid Feb.......I dont think that you can get it in January anyhow because it takes around 7-15 days for Delivery from factory(Again it depends on location) i hope its Haryana.....and yes as Ivin said, it depends on the showroom stock and when they ordered for new stock with Factory.Originally posted by vishakrs View PostWhat is the number of days gap between the manufacturing date and vehicle delivery date approximately with case of R15 Version 2.0. WD40 is good at removing moisture and hence for rust removal and prevention for a short period of time. It is also known for making the ORing inside the chain links (rubber washers) dry. Best to stick with O Ring friendly chain cleaner spray like 3M, Motul, Wurth etc.. Similarly dont use kerosene or Diesel which has the same effect on O Rings. For lubing try Motul, Tribocor, Yamalube, TVS etc. Its best if chain is cleant and lubed every 700 kms to 1000 kms and more frequently during monsoons.

Need help to understand if this is a YZF-R15 design fault.
Hi,
I own a Yamaha R15v2.0, 6 months old. I ride it everyday, and sometimes carry a pillion on it (no discretion, pillion weighs anywhere from 45-85kgs). Just a few days back I happened to look under the rider seat where the rear fiber is bolted on and noticed that the fiber has broken around the nut where it is bolted (attached photographs).
I don't know how this happened, whether it is my weight (~80kgs) or the pillion rider. I know the rear seat isn't exactly the easiest place to climb on to. I want to actually know if this is a one time issue, or other R15v2.0 owners have faced it and is it a design flaw. Since the bike is still under warranty, I am keen on knowing whether I could get this replaced under warranty owing to a design flaw.
Opinions from fellow R15v2.0 riders would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
SVC said that some of the model Yamaha R15 v2 has chain lock where we can open the chain without removing the swing arm, but max of the v2 does not has that lock in the chain rings which forces us to remove the swing arm if we need to pull out the chain....Originally posted by vishakrs View PostWD40 is good at removing moisture and hence for rust removal and prevention for a short period of time. He added that all V1 models has that chain lock in its ring....
Is this right?
Coz i need to pull out the chain and my v2's chain does not has that ring lock.....so i need to get the swing arm loosen?
